View Full Version : Worst Moments in Pistons History
Wizzle 07-16-2008, 11:19 AM Not to depress anyone but......
To get things started;
-Laimbeer's inbound to Bird
-Sheed not covering Horry
-Switching to Teal
-Mateen Cleaves and Brian Cardinal on the floor at the same time

giffman 07-16-2008, 11:31 AM IMO, nothing was worse than the inbounds pass to Bird.

Gar Heard coaching.
Allan Houston leaving.
Chauncey's sprained ankle versus the Nets.

The BonJovi banner.
Higherwarrior 07-16-2008, 01:24 PM it was isiah who inbounded the ball to bird. i know that only because i still have very vivid nightmares about that play.
Wizzle 07-16-2008, 01:27 PM i'm sorry, you're right.....it was a bad pass and Laimbeer waiting for the ball to get to him instead of going after it
Atticus771 07-16-2008, 02:05 PM LeBron's coming-out party in Game 5...

axemanozh 07-16-2008, 04:16 PM I remember being real depressed when Miami finished off a 3 game sweep with a blowout win at the Palace back in the 2000 playoffs. Grant Hill had already been injured and was heading into free agency. Things were real uncertain, and I was pretty bummed.

Yep, I was at that one too.
Glenn 07-16-2008, 04:21 PM I was also at a Pistons/Pacer game a couple of years ago (it was the first home game vs. the Pacers after the brawl) and there was a bomb threat before the game and it was delayed like 2 hours.
The game was an ESPN game too, I think, so it didn't end up starting until almost 10 pm and then the Pistons went out an laid an egg.
So we sat there all that time (with a 3+ hour drive home after the game) and they got blown out by Jeff Foster.

There was confusion because Isiah wasn't supposed to be on the sideline. It was a dumb play before Bird ever got involved. I still think it's overrated in the annals of Pistons history.
The end of Game 6 in the 1988 Finals is my worst moment.
As far as worst team eras go, the early 80s pre-Isiah was the suck. We were in the Silverdome and hadn't even come close to figuring out how to properly do basketball in that place without feeling like you were in a fucking cesspool. The only reason to go was to watch the stars from the other teams.
Higherwarrior 07-23-2008, 09:32 AM agreed. except it was his achilles not his ACL if memory serves me correctly. but yeah, that sucked.
