View Full Version : Iran
Tahoe 06-20-2008, 04:11 PM The Pentagon says the latest Israeli excersizes are a practice to attack Irans nuclear ambitions.
discuss...ok, i think we already have, somewhere, but thought I'd post an update.
Big Swami 06-20-2008, 05:58 PM Israel isn't doing jack shit without Big Daddy's go-ahead. This is a proven fact.
Glenn 06-20-2008, 08:18 PM I ran all night and day-ay-ay
Tahoe 06-20-2008, 10:04 PM So do we here at WTF Detroit, being such a cohesive group, support an Israeli preemptive strike on Irans nuclear ambitions?
^ As long as it isn't our intalagince seying thay have nukes.
DrRay11 06-20-2008, 10:06 PM No.
Tahoe 06-20-2008, 10:07 PM You don't count.
DrRay11 06-20-2008, 10:10 PM How do you think Bush got elected in the first place?
Timone 06-20-2008, 10:11 PM Zing!
Tahoe 06-20-2008, 10:12 PM How do you think Bush got elected in the first place?
Cuz peeps don't want another 911.
DrRay11 06-20-2008, 10:14 PM electing of Bush = pre-911.
You are wrong and have learned nothing.
Tahoe 06-20-2008, 10:15 PM Cuz peeps know conservatives thinking makes more sense than liberal thinking.
DrRay11 06-20-2008, 10:17 PM That's pretty deep.
Tahoe 06-20-2008, 10:18 PM Not really, just true.
DrRay11 06-20-2008, 10:20 PM The correct answer is: "Because an ever so slight yet deciding portion of people were disappointed in Clinton's sexual affair and therefore did not want to elect his vice president." Also, that people don't count.
Cuz peeps know conservatives thinking makes more sense than liberal thinking.
There's a slight difference between sounding good and making sense.
DrRay11 06-20-2008, 10:22 PM Sorry, this thread has been derailed. I rest my case.
Tahoe 06-20-2008, 10:24 PM There's a slight difference between sounding good and making sense.
Actually you are right. The liberal message always sounds so much better. But as we age, we realize its a pipe dream.
If nothing else, Israel's demonstration was interesting because you just don't get good old fashioned saber rattling like you used to.
And I agree with Swami, Israel doesn't move unless the US say yes or the threat is in their eyes imminent (which means the US would likely say yes).
And I'm sure Israel uses their own intelligence.

Well said.

^ Thankfully.
I don't think Israel is our lil boy. I would NOT want to be an enemy of Israel. Talk about a sleeping giant.
I think there were a few different instances during the first Gulf War where we were not happy with some of their decisions. I could be wrong on that though. Hitting Iran would be a huge decision that I'm sure would be discussed with the US, but IMO they would make it clear that it is their decision and theirs alone. They know they US will help defend them.

Being an enemy of Israel worked out terribly for Hezbollah.
Israel got a harsh lesson on the limits of power in 2006. They'll get another one if they attack Iran.
Tahoe 07-02-2008, 06:14 PM This will be interesting to see what Iran does over the next few years.
Uncle Mxy 07-09-2008, 01:41 PM Iran thinks we're soft on...cybercrime?

If cyber's a crime then lock ....
Big Swami 07-10-2008, 10:20 PM Count me also as a "No."
If Ahmedouchabag puts on his funny suit and makes the same silly remarks about Israel that Iranian politicians have been saying for 50 years at the graduation ceremony for the Iranian University of Goat-Herding, who gives a shit?
If someone vastly more powerful than him goes on TV and announces that the Revolutionary Guard is going to launch attacks on American troops in Iraq and Turkey, then my answer becomes a "yes."
You hear a lot of shit from "certain people" that Iran is somehow behind the insurgencies in Iraq. Somehow, I just can't bring myself to believe them. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because Shi'ite Iran isn't going to support a mostly Sunni insurgency in Iraq. Maybe it's because with the rise of Shi'ite political parties in Iraq, Iran can pretty much pull the strings of the entire region without having to put themselves at risk by sending terrorists or bombs over the border. Or maybe it's because these same "certain people" were the ones telling us that Saddam Hussein had enriched uranium.
"Certain people" should have lost their public speaking privileges years ago. Maybe their walking-around-free privileges too.
Tahoe 07-10-2008, 11:46 PM Or maybe its because you are wrong.
Glenn 07-11-2008, 06:28 AM Or maybe its because you are wrong.
But has he learned something?
DrRay11 07-11-2008, 08:25 AM Or maybe its because you are wrong.

Tahoe 08-12-2008, 03:15 PM I guess Iran got booed (how the fuck do you spell the past tense of boo) at the Oly opening ceremony and it was silent when the Russians were announced too....according to reports not associated with FoxNews.
I know a lot of y'all are convinced the world hates us...not so.

Yea the only hate our tourists. With a knife wielding passion at that.
Tahoe 08-12-2008, 05:08 PM ^ I'm sure that death is Bush's fault, right?
Black Dynamite 08-13-2008, 12:50 AM ^ I'm sure that death is Bush's fault, right?
I'm saying that the notion is that we are loved because Russia was booed is naive. You seem to believe that it's unfathomable for people to hate Terrorists and America's strong arm politics of the past 8 years. Things are not so absolute.
At the end of the day you translate this to unfair hate for Bush because that's all you can compute. Which really is a shame.
Tahoe 08-13-2008, 11:36 AM We were cheered loudly homes.
Look you have this 'we're hated everywhere cuz of Bush' nonsense going on. You are wrong but roll with that, if that helps ya.
Black Dynamite 08-13-2008, 04:41 PM We were cheered loudly homes.
Yea and there were alot of fireworks and no lip syncing too.
Look you have this 'we're hated everywhere cuz of Bush' nonsense going on. You are wrong but roll with that, if that helps ya.
With all due respect Fuck you, you wouldn't no wrong if it killed your family looking for terrorists in the wrong country. I mean do you eat up so much dog shit that you are self righteous enough to say that anybody on this earth is wrong for blasting on that idiot fuck? People die over his mistakes and have their whole lives flipped upside down serving him as commander in chief. As a job it requires more responsibility than any in this country. No one gets a free pass on this. No matter what you believe. And no disrespect cosigned by Josh Howard.
