WTFchris 06-16-2008, 05:10 PM Who should they take?
Ford has them as a lock to take Bayless but they also need a big.
Both ESPN and NBAdraft.net have Bayless at #4.
defrocked 06-16-2008, 05:19 PM I went with Bayless since that's who everyone says they're taking. I agree they need a big in the worst way though. Just haven't heard from anyone, including myself, who's sold on Lopez.
WTFchris 06-16-2008, 05:31 PM Well, I guess they'll have to get their big with their other first.
Cross 06-17-2008, 01:14 AM my bad chris i was going to make this as soon as i got home which was now.
jarryd for sure. pg is their weakest position right now with ridnour and EARL WATSON.
WTFchris 06-17-2008, 10:30 AM I'm just glad we got your pick right.
Glenn is also happy because Watson will be leaving with this pick. All kidding aside he'd be a good pickup if RIP or Billups were traded.
Wilfredo Ledezma 06-17-2008, 12:27 PM look at all the bigs Seattle has drafted in recent years...Sene, Petro, Swift...

looking to trade a few of them
WTFchris 06-19-2008, 10:53 AM Thanks. I'm betting Seattle goes big with this pick. Hibbert?
Glenn 06-19-2008, 11:02 AM I saw Cross online just an hour or two ago, hopefully he's not sleeping now.
Glenn 06-19-2008, 11:40 AM Thanks. I'm betting Seattle goes big with this pick. Hibbert?
Tough one.
I can see them going big, but I'm guessing that they'd want big and athletic.
Hibbert needs to play for a half court team, the Sonics want to run.
Darrell Arthur?
defrocked 06-19-2008, 11:46 AM Hmm, Arthur seems a worse version of Durant. That's not meant as an insult to his game, since "being worse than KD" is hardly a fair criticism. Just pointing out the duplication of skills. Arthur would need to bulk up to help them in the paint, something they've been looking for forever it seems.
DeAndre Jordan seems a good fit. He's a bit of a project, but any true big man availabe at this point will need some work. He's definitely athletic enough to run with the young guys.
WTFchris 06-19-2008, 12:00 PM Jordan is very similar too though. Athletic, good rebounder and shot blocker as well. I agree if the Sonics are going to run then Hibbert doesn't fit well.
defrocked 06-19-2008, 12:07 PM Jordan's also 6'11", 250 with a 7'6" wingspan, as opposed to Arthur's 6'9", 216 with a 6'11" wingspan.
WTFchris 06-19-2008, 12:10 PM Some things to consider for Seattle's pick:
The Bad
• Brook Lopez really struggled in all of the athletic drills. He's huge (his wingspan measured out at 7-foot-5 ½), but NBA teams are shying away from the more-lumbering big men. He wasn't awful during the testing, but many thought he'd do a little better.
• DeAndre Jordan also didn't fare nearly as well as teams would've expected. He's been labled as a Dwight Howard-type athlete, but he didn't put up anything close to the numbers Howard put up a few years ago.
• Donte Greene and Darrell Arthur -- two guys touted for their athleticism -- disappointed many with their poor vertical-jump scores. Arthur also fared very poorly in the lane-agility drill.
• JaVale McGee didn't light up the drills either for someone touted as a great athlete for a player his size. He looked a little out of shape in the workouts, which can't help his cause.
Glenn 06-19-2008, 12:19 PM Ford's got Arthur as a 6-10 PF that can run the floor.
Just saying.
Glenn 06-19-2008, 12:26 PM Doesn't really matter I suppose.
The Sonics already have a bunch of mediocre bigs, might as well add another.
Wilcox
Collison
R. Swift
Sene
Petro
WTFchris 06-19-2008, 12:42 PM Swift is a FA I think. They'll just let him go I imagine. Whoever they take has a chance to get PT regardless of whether they are a PF or C.
