WTFchris 06-13-2008, 06:11 PM Players Under Contract:
SG Vince Carter
SF Richard Jefferson
PG Devin Harris
F/C Stromile Swift
G/F Trenton Hassell
C Sean Williams
PG Marcus Williams
F/C Josh Boone
G/F Maurice Ager
Free Agents:
Restricted: Nenad Krstic (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3622)
Unrestricted: Darrell Armstrong (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3001), DeSagana Diop (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3518), Bostjan Nachbar (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3613), Stromile Swift (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3401)
Limited Salary Protection: Keith Van Horn (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3169)
Team Salary:
$51,790,000
$45,590,000 (if Swift opts out)
WTFchris 06-13-2008, 06:17 PM Team Needs:
#1 - PF
Williams and Boone are not scorers and neither is Swift (if he stays). The Nets need a post presence badly. Kristic has not provided enough here.
#2 - G/F
Ager has not played well. A 6th man scorer is needed to spell RJ and VC. Nachbar is a decent 3 point specialist, but a more consistant scorer is needed here.
#3 - C
A backup is needed here if Kristic, Diop and Swift all leave.
Picks:
#10
#21
#40
Laxation 06-16-2008, 08:53 AM Can you trade Diop with your pick?
I'm also interested in picks 10 and 21...
WTFchris 06-16-2008, 10:25 AM Diop would have to be a S&T. I don't know which team you are representing that is interested.
jturbo 06-16-2008, 10:30 AM You interested in McCants from the T-Wolves?
WTFchris 06-16-2008, 10:38 AM You interested in McCants from the T-Wolves?
Possibly, but probably not for #21 at this point. I expect Rush, CDR, Batum and Walker to be there (at least most if not all of them). McCants cannot play both wing positions so that limits him.
WTFchris 06-17-2008, 10:23 AM New Jersey swapped picks with the Bucks and took on Gadzuric's bad contract because they felt the Bobcats would nab Lopez at #9.
Lopez will provide NJ with low post scoring and complement Sean Williams who is an agile defender and shot blocker but a poor offensive player.
Glenn 06-17-2008, 10:24 AM New Jersey felt correctly.
Glenn 06-17-2008, 11:06 AM Lots of rumors this morning that Gallinari has a promise from the Nets at #10.
WTFchris 06-17-2008, 11:15 AM They must be looking to move RJ harder than I thought.
lospistones 06-17-2008, 12:23 PM Brook Lopez to the Bobcats could've been scary.
Okafor-Lopez would be a great complement of frontcourt offense and defense.

Sorry Bro. Gotta give Hammond some space to move.
WTFchris 06-19-2008, 01:18 PM Well, NJ got their big early and now they got their wing. Courtney Lee is a great shooter with a lights out mid range game and good 3 point shooting as well. No telling how long VC will last and VC can slide to SF when Lee comes in anyway.
WTFchris 06-19-2008, 01:21 PM After the first round they become:
PG Harris/Williams
SG VC/Lee/Ager
SF RJ/Hassell/Ager
PF Williams/Kristic/Boone
C Lopez/Kristic/Boone
*I'm betting on Swift and Diop opting out to get more PT somewhere else.
Cross 06-20-2008, 10:58 AM btw, sean williams got no PT at the end of the year. boone was favored.
WTFchris 06-24-2008, 10:13 AM With their final pick NJ takes a PG to backup Harris. Williams will probably be looking for money and a starting gig (not that he deserves one) after this year.

Where's Gadzuric in your depth chart?
WTFchris 06-24-2008, 04:55 PM Riding the pine. He'd be behind Boone and Kristic playing the Elden Campbell role.
Glenn 06-24-2008, 04:56 PM Hmm, I consider him a below average to decent backup center that just happens to make too much $$.
Kinda like Nazr.
