Team Salary
$44 million

Strengths
• Memphis has three good young prospects at the point, although one is likely gone this summer.
:cough: Trade anyone? :cough:
• They have an up-and-coming star in Rudy Gay.

Weaknesses
• This frontline is rough. They're soft at the 4 and 5, so teams are scoring in the paint at will.
• Depth is an issue everywhere but the point.
• They're among the worst free throw shooting teams in the league at just 72%

Memphis draft Anthony Randolph, PF, LSU.

The guy has strength and athleticism, and the greatest upside of any big after Beasley. Memphis isn't contending this year or next, so he has time to grow into the beast he could be, a la Dwight Howard.

After being shocked by Indiana's selection of Alexander, the Grizz's #12 pick is available for trade. Westbrook, who many considered the top PG after Rose in the draft, is still available.

If I can't make a deal by 9 this morning, I won't hold things up and I'll go ahead and make my pick.

With my trades and picks, the Grizzlies went from:

Conley/Lowry/Crittenton
Miller/Navarro (RFA)
Gay/Jacobsen (UFA)
Warrick/K. Brown (UFA)/Cardinal
Darko/Collins/A. Brown (RFA)

to:

Conley/Crittenton
Miller/(FA)
Gay/Alexander
Warrick/Randolph
Milicic/Hawes/Collins

Gay can also back up the SG while Alexander gets some run. I think this team is light years ahead of where it was before the mock draft started. They have a bunch of young talent - two new rookies and a second-year guy added to their already young core - and they still have the cap space to add on.
