DETROIT -- Detroit Tigers right-hander Jeremy Bonderman likely will miss the rest of the season after undergoing medical procedures related to a blood clot.
Bonderman was examined Friday at the Detroit Medical Center, the team says in a statement, and it was determined he has a "blood clot of the axillary vein due to thoracic outlet compression syndrome."

Bonderman, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list before Saturday's home game against the Cleveland Indians, was expected to undergo further examinations later.

Just when Zumaya and Rodney are due back, we take another injury hit. Same thing happened last year with Rogers...

As much as I hate to admit it, 2006 was just a perfect storm. We had no serious injuries and everything fell into place...

DONE. Get ready for a bunch of hideous spot starts from Virgil Vasquez, Jordan Tata and all the other MLB burnouts we have in Toledo...

Its amazing to me that our supposed ACE goes down for the season and NO ONE replied to this thread.

I'd say that says a lot about peeps feelings about the Tigs.

Sadly, he was the once-upon-a-time ace that never got there. Even WORSE, is the fact that our actual ace is 2-9 and if HE went down for the year, about as many people would reply.

I think the feeling is that whomever replaces Bondo just might have a better shot at winning games. Losing Willis got us Galarraga. Losing Bondo might get us something else. Hell, why not lose all 5 of the guys in our rotation as of April 1. We might go on to win 22 of the next 25!

Well, to Verlander's credit, he's getting the lowest run support in the entire league, and last year he had the best run support in the league.

In all of Verlanders starts, the team has scored more than 2 runs for him only TWICE...that's unreal, and while Verlander hasn't been dominant by any stretch of the imagination, he's pitched better than his 2-9 record, at the very least he should be 5-5, 5-6 or so...and theres no question he has a higher ceiling than Bondo, even though they are the same age

Quick word count on this thread...

And thx for the correction Jethro (without calling me a moran or something) on the Ace thing. Not sure what I was thinking about...or if I was thinking at all. I think Kenny was even considered the ace after Bondo, then JV.

GD...Its a good thing they weren't around back when I was in HS or they would have went down at least 2 BBall games, Football games, and Baseball games a year.

This means Nate is here to stay. Willis better get his head out of his ass and start pitching good.
