Joe Asberry 06-03-2008, 05:00 PM Sheed, Chauncey, Dice for AI, Camby, Kleiza works
or Sheed, Dice for Camby, Nene
whatever i think Denver might be a good dancing partner
Cross 06-03-2008, 11:37 PM i dont want to get older, although it desperately solves our rebounding problems. cambys getting older and bound to get injured soon

Yuck. I want a center with post moves, this doesn't get us one. Also I don't see how AI and Stuckey would work together either.
And I also agree about getting older being bad.
BIG BEN'S FRO 06-05-2008, 01:36 PM Not a fan of adding AI at this time given our team concept of long armed, agile defenders. I am more in favor of getting Camby over sheed given that the rest of our current roster largely consists of jump shooters, and a offensive rebounder like him who doesn't drift out to the three point line would be welcome.
As for age, Sheed and Camby are the same age. It's not the best addition, but if we ever do get a posting PF, then Camby is a nice complement.
Wilfredo Ledezma 06-06-2008, 11:09 AM Damnit, just think of what could've been if we just signed Tyson Chandler after Benjamin left.
All of our rebounding issues would be solved, and we'd have won at least one more title (either last year or this year)...
But instead we panicked and signed Nazy...I need to stop thinking about the past, it's not doing me any good...

Explain how we sign a guy with a contract?
WTFchris 06-06-2008, 11:50 AM The Bulls re-signed Chandler to a 6 year deal in 05. The Bulls signed Ben in 06. They traded Chandler to the Hornets for JR Smith and PJ Brown after signing Ben.
I'm confused at when we could have signed him myself.

Stop thinking about the past Chris.
WTFchris 06-06-2008, 12:41 PM Sorry. I know, lets trade Max and #29 for Dwight Howard and #22!
Wilfredo Ledezma 06-06-2008, 03:08 PM we could've gotten Tyson the same way NO did...they gave up JR smith and somebody else, Bulls wanted to get rid of him once they signed Ben

someone else's name was PJ brown, and he was an 8 mil expiring deal.
Vinny 06-06-2008, 04:23 PM We could have sign and traded Ben, maybe, but is that really realistic within the division? I don't think Pax or Joe would have done that.
WTFchris 06-06-2008, 04:23 PM and who was JR smith (on our team)? I doubt they wanted Delfino, who scored 3.6 points per game. Smith scored 10 points a game. Our expiring deal was Cato (who did nothing here). PJ put up 11 points and 9 rebounds a game.
Wilfredo Ledezma 06-06-2008, 10:41 PM ok assholes, you made your point...
fuck the Tyson thing, it seemed feasible for me at the time...
and who was JR smith (on our team)? I doubt they wanted Delfino, who scored 3.6 points per game. Smith scored 10 points a game.
FWIW, they weren't high on JR. They moved him for two 2nd rounders before he ever suited up. Coincidentally, the same package we got for Delfino.
Our expiring deal was Cato (who did nothing here). PJ put up 11 points and 9 rebounds a game. Cato wasn't expiring. He was already expired. I think more of the hope from Detroit fans/media was that it would be a sign and trade. So, Chicago wouldn't have to take back any contracts at all (which I think they would have preferred)
That said, there was no chance Chicago was going to give their biggest competition a guy like Chandler who at one time played well enough with them to "earn" a big-ass contract like his. Would have been nice though.

I thought we only got one 2nd for Wussfino?
defrocked 06-07-2008, 09:42 AM Nope, 2nd rounder in 2009 and 2011.
Hermy 06-07-2008, 10:54 AM White we're on the subject, I'm not all that high on Chandler. He is great at rebounding and catching lobs. Doesn't block that many shots, doesn't D the pick and roll all that well from what I've seen. Not sure he'd be what he is there if he came here.
Glenn 06-08-2008, 09:03 AM re: Melo to the Pistons rumor
Tay & Sheed for Melo & Camby works, salary wise, after July 1
Glenn 06-08-2008, 09:06 AM I hate Melo with a passion, but
Billups/Stuckey
Rip/Stuckey/Afflalo
Melo/Valter
Dice/Max/Amir
Camby/Samb
is pretty nice, especially if you throw in #29 and a MLE player

Nene works in place of Camby, too
Wilfredo Ledezma 06-08-2008, 11:44 AM Nene works in place of Camby, too
I'd rather have Camby, but that lineup you posted...
Stuckey, Rip, Melo, Dyess, Camby....that's not bad...pray Brandon Rush falls down to 29 so we can add him to guard bigger fowards (Bron, Pierce)...use the MLE on Josh Childress or James Posey

Where'd Chauncey go?
Wilfredo Ledezma 06-08-2008, 11:51 AM Where'd Chauncey go?
he'd be dealt to Denver for Melo
Tay & chauncey for Camby & Melo...was what glenn put up there
DrRay11 06-08-2008, 11:58 AM No, it was Tay and Sheed, you epic fucktard.
he'd be dealt to Denver for Melo

Then where'd Sheed go?
Wilfredo Ledezma 06-08-2008, 12:42 PM whatever, im confusing this with the article kstat posted on the legit trade rumors thread
if we can somehow get Melo, while keeping Stuckey, i'd be very happy.
btw, did anyone else hear McCosky patronize Stony on WDFN when Stony proposed a Camby deal? "You really think Camby is a good defensive player? Really? Really? Because he stands in the middle and blocks shots? Really??" Classic.

Yeah I heard that interview, that was the AI, Camby, and Kleiza deal...I kind of agree with Chris on the fact that Camby isn't as great of a defensive player as he's made out to be...
When the labeled "best defensive player" plays on the worst defensive team, things don't add up right you know...?
I love Linas Kleiza though. He's in my "fave five" Big 12 Alumns version.
'Melo to the Pistons trade rumor was just discussed on PTI.
The more I think of it, the more I like it. It's just that....why not 4 years ago? We could've got him without losing anyone and who knows what would've happened after that.
Oh well, I'd still take him for Chauncey and Tay. I just don't know why Denver would want a Billups/Iverson backcourt.

c'mon, still?
Glenn 06-10-2008, 05:41 AM Couldn't have gotten him without losing Stuckey.
Wilfredo Ledezma 06-10-2008, 03:09 PM if we drafted carmelo, we wouldn't have gotten sheed, and therefore we would've been a 2nd round exit in the playoffs...
i'd rather have the 1 championship, than melo...who i don't even think has been out of the 1st round...(don't quote me on that)

Is this a joke?
WTFchris 06-10-2008, 06:56 PM So he's managed to win 4 playoff games in 5 years? That's pretty sad. I'm betting Tmac has had more success than that with less talent around him (another guy that's done jack squat in the playoffs)
Timone 06-10-2008, 07:10 PM det/glennver
Fixed.
