I think any deal that we do with Houston would have Dice included.

That's the one other team that I think he'd play for.

Glenn

And there no way they are trading Yao for at least another 5 years.

Take the "a" out of it. And nice.

I'll take Tracy, Arnie can keep him off the injured list, and we can finally get our "super star"...

I don't even want Yao Ming...

Somebody needs to come up with a 3 way deal with Detroit getting Battier and Houston getting Dice.

Obviously, Tay would be inolved too, as well as other assets coming back to Detroit.

I can totally see Joe D targeting Battier as a team leader (co-captain) and a big part of changing the culture in the lockerroom.

Add in the fact that he's from the D, and is a family friend of Joe D's and it just makes too much sense.

I don't think that Houston has the parts we'd want in a straight Dice/Tay for Battier + ? deal.

we don't need battier unless we get rid of prince...

battier = prince, both can disappear offensively

i do love shane though, ideal piston

I'd still prefer T-Mac, even though he's the worst playoff player of all time (statistically), I have a soft spot in my heart for him that thinks he's the best player in the league (when he's going on all cylinders) 2 starters could get that one done...

Glenn

You'd be putting a lot of faith in that bad back of his.

I know, it wouldn't be a fiscally responsible move by Joe...

Arnie's hands can only do so much, and T'Mac's back is a medical rubiks cube

But Battier makes about $3m a year less than Tay.

ok you win, but he's not the total answer, we still need more than just Battier...

what the hell is barbosa making these days, his season high was higher than any piston, we need a player than can go for 40 pts twice a month

That's in terms of Win/Losses I assume and not production numbers which last I knew were solid.

I've also always like Tasty McGravy and wouldn't mind him as the new SF of the Pistons (though there are a whole host of reasons not to have him here including the fact that he's said he'd like to retire soon).

If we had T-Mac, we could unload both Rip & Tay...

C- Sheed

SG- Stuckey
PG- Billups

he's deemed a SF on the All Star Ballot, he def has the size to be a 3, but i think he's become more finesse as a 2 since he's usually covering smaller guys

Detroit Gets: McGrady, Battier

Houston Gets: Prince, Hamilton, McDyess

Congratulations on a successful trade.
Due to Detroit and Houston being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Detroit and Houston had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

DET

C- Wallace
PF- FA Signing or Maxiell
SF- Battier
SG- McGrady
PG- Billups

HOU

C- Yao
PF- McDyess/Scola
SF- Prince
SG- Hamilton
PG- Rafer Fuck Alston/Bobby Jackson

seems fair to me...

I don't know if inconsistent-ass Sheed and undersized rebounding-challenged Maxiell and offensively-avoidant Battier and injury-prone McGrady and too-cool Billups is a recipe for success.

IF we moved Rasheed for Okafor and told Billups to be more of a scorer and McGrady to be more of a playmaker, I'd do it.

Yeah, the starting PF would need to be a FA pickup in that scenario. We can't start Max next to someone that's not a big-time rebounder, we'd give up a ton of offensive boards.

I don't think the Pistons are built on a star or someone who could put up a bunch of points. It's a team effort and that's why we sport the best starting 5 in the whole NBA. Now I agree that offense stalls from time to time... but that's the coach's fault... and why Flip is no longer with the team because even if he did have a clue the team would still not listen to him. There are players who could score more if the pace of play was picked up. just my own opinion.

Steve (Det): How about Rip, Sheed, future #1 for T-Mac and Scola?

John Hollinger: (3:48 PM ET ) I think Detroit and Houston have a lot of things they could potentially discuss, let me put it that way. But again, I wouldn't expect any of it to happen til later this summer.

Are there enough shots to go around for the T-Mac/Howard deal? Either way, I'd probably do it. Best supporting cast McGrady has ever had.

That almost seems like a lateral move to me. It might improve some of our offensive woes, but it seems like the chemisty would take quite a hit, unless Stuckey is really ready to "lead" the team.
