Lake Orion. At which, some will laugh, but mind you I've lived in Allegan and Robinson Township.

You can take the boy out of Allegan, but you can't take the Allegan out of the boy.

My memories of meth dens and Bubba's Sports Bar will always live with me.

I guess this means that you won't be seeing me at Meijer anymore. Unless we pre-arrange an appointment or something and you are willing to travel.

Also, did you move next door to Fool or is he just stalking you?

I should be at Meijer next monday, say 3:30, but I presume you'll be working. Too bad, we could have arranged a picnic in the deli with one of those nice rotisserie chickens.

Fool spies on WRH sometimes. I have an 8 page thread in the circus forum dedicated to my sweet negotiation skills, with some pics of the new place. I would post the home here, but the higher exposure spooks me a bit. Last thing I need is Micknugget showing up at my door to continue an arguement on whom will have a better year next year, Dyess or Samb.

Welcome to the land of Great Lakes Crossing. :)

My wife has made up an H&M song she sings every time we talk about moving.

Ok, I'm starting my move this weekend. I need a Metro Detroit/North Oakland County Primer. Give me everything and anything. Radio stations, Pizza, Where tha gold at, sneaky parking spots near venues.

Maybe this thread needs to be moved to Detroit Style?

I don't think we have a classified section, but I am looking to buy a trailer, like 6X10 or bigger.

North Oakland county is still a pretty big place. If you want to get from Lark Orion to parts north (e.g. Clarkston, Waterford) by the back way, check out Clarkston Road and Andersonville Road. And getting to Auburn Hills/Rochester area by Oakland U. is probably fucked up for you with Walton being under construction. So, let's start with the Lake Orion area where you're at:

Carrie Lee's on Baldwin (not to be confused with Carrie Lee's on M-59 by the airport) is probably the best Chinese in your immediate vicinity, but I heard they just burned down and are in the process of recovering. If you're looking for Chinese along M-59, I'd suggest China Jade.

Chef Dante does the best Italian food in the area -- a notch above the more-visibly upscale places, and more economical. He did food for mobsters in a past life. Here's the contact info for his joint:

In general, the Metro Times is the right place to get what's hip and happening in the overall Detroit area, though most of it will be south of you.

For Indian food, the Rangoli in Auburn Hills is the best. As a bonus, you get to hear an Indian muzak version of Final Countdown if you come in during the right hours.

Downtown Lake Orion is kinda quaint, if you're into that sort of thing.

Titties, thanks MXY. FYI, I live one block off Clarkston road.

Good sushi anyone?

There's Nobana, which is definitely thumbs-up in my book, but it's kinda far away from you in Troy:

AFAIK, sushi doesn't really start in Oakland County until Pontiac/Auburn Hills and parts south. There's Chinese places that do sushi, but I avoid those.

To be clear, I'm talking about Chinese restaurants that tack on sushi to capitalize on a trend. I will occasionally do sushi at Asian fusion places. Little Tree in Royal Joke has some good and interesting sushi, for example. One Asian fusion sushi place closer to Orion that I haven't gotten around to trying is Azumi's Garden:

Funny you'd say that, I'm going to Little Tree tonight for my anniversary.
