Zekyl 05-13-2008, 06:01 PM How far up the list do you think he'd have been if he'd have played the whole season? I don't know if he'd have made first team, but he'd have gotten more points for sure.
Tahoe 05-13-2008, 06:02 PM "IF" he wouldn't have been hurt and "IF" he wouldn't have went to a shitty team where he could have played hecka minutes....He would be getting tons more ink.
Vinny 05-13-2008, 06:18 PM Is there even a single guard on the first team?

Durant played 2 all year, though he won't play there much longer.
Higherwarrior 05-16-2008, 10:15 AM figured this could add to the stuckey discussion:

Wilfredo Ledezma 05-16-2008, 10:23 AM Glenn, what happened to your boy Corey Brewer?
BUST!
Glenn 05-16-2008, 10:26 AM I still like him.
He'll get better.
His defense is already there.
Atticus771 05-22-2008, 11:58 PM All the Stuckey haters were proven WRONG tonight, btw. Own up, each and every one of you.
Timone 05-23-2008, 12:01 AM Yeah, Glenn.
Big Swami 05-23-2008, 12:30 AM I'm still cautiously optimistic about my man.
Black Dynamite 05-23-2008, 01:48 AM I still like him.
He'll get better.

So they drafted an Affalo clone pretty high? :VOLCANO:
Stuckey got robbed. He's better than Jeff Green. None of those guys are doing what Rodney's doing right now. Winning games for his team deep in the playoffs.
Higherwarrior 05-23-2008, 08:45 AM if he were on a bad team where he could start and play 30+ minutes, his numbers would be about 15-18 ppg & 5 or 6 assists. easily.
Black Dynamite 05-23-2008, 08:49 AM if he were on a bad team where he could start and play 30+ minutes, his numbers would be about 15-18 ppg & 5 or 6 assists. easily.
Luckily he's not on the suckass teams.
Fuck these pussy ass accolades. Lets get this ring.
Glenn 05-23-2008, 10:42 AM I like him, I just think he's a SG.
Higherwarrior 05-23-2008, 11:15 AM he could be. but given the direction the PG role is going in the nba today, he's an even better PG IMO. why? because he can score and get to the hoop but he's equally adept at getting other people involved.
if you'll notice the plethera of NBA PGs today who control their teams and score AND set others up. stuckey fits that role perfectly as he is a very good passer, has very good floor vision, good ball handling skills, is very unselfish, and has a very high basketball IQ.
IMO to make him solely a SG would be to waste those abilities.
DrRay11 05-23-2008, 11:27 AM What about a Deron Williams comparison?
No? Sorry.

I agree. Look at the flashy passing PG's in this league. Nash and Kidd. How many rings do they have? Look at the PG's who have won lately...Billups, Parker, Wade (not a true PG, but primary ball handler). All those players are decent but not great passers. Their best asset is taking the ball to the rim and kicking it out when help comes. Billups less so than the other two, but he's a lot older too (and a far better 3 point shooter).
Unless you have a team full of players that cannot create their own shot and you need to play full court, why do you need a flashy passer? You don't. You need a PG that can get to the rim and put your team in the penalty, and can also manage your offense. It doesn't take a flashy passer to dump the ball to Sheed. It doesn't take a flashy passer to hit RIP on a curl.
Tahoe 05-23-2008, 12:55 PM I think I, as in me, could pass the ball to Rip curling around a screen.

you have to pass it off the dribble so he gets seperation off that screen
you have to pass it right into his shot chamber on his right hand side so he can stop and pop (which is a little harder to do when he rolls off your right side.)
You have to lead the pass so it is not picked off.
You have to do it with a man in front of you.
You have to make the passes on a line.
I think you, as in Tahoe, could do it too. Just not very well.
A catch and pop shot is as good as the pass.
Hermy 05-23-2008, 01:19 PM Thank you Bubbles, I've never understood why people think it's harder to pass to Karl Malone on a designed pick and roll, or Tyson Chandler on the way to the hoop than to a shooter in a designed spot. The timing is incredibly difficult, especially in the playoffs when Rip gets slowed by clutching and grabbing.
WTFchris 05-23-2008, 01:59 PM That's the thing. You probably could make that pass. But probably 9 out of 10 times it would be slightly off, tipped, stolen, etc.
My point was that an average PG in the NBA can make those passes on a regular basis. Not an average person in general.
Tahoe 05-23-2008, 02:15 PM I"m not an average person. I GOT SKILLZ!
I'm just saying delivering the ball on a curl isn't that hard if you have some basic coordination. Just because the guy is 'considered' more of a SG, he's still a pro, and should be able to deliver that ball correctly to Rip.
I'm not sure who I'm agreeing with or disagreeing with, just my 2 cents.
