Actually they always get 10's. San Andreas did too. I gotta say for me they deserved them. As far as open world gameplay goes, they are like 3 steps ahead of everyone else on consoles.

The game will be officially released at midnight tonight, and it's already being called legendary. Current review averages range from 99 to 100% and are containing comments like "GTA IV gives us characters and a world with a level of depth previously unseen in gaming and elevates its story from a mere shoot-em-up to an Oscar-caliber drama. Every facet of Rockstar's new masterpiece is worthy of applause. Without question, Grand Theft Auto IV is the best game since Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time"

Wow! Bold statements, but I've got a feeling that GTA IV is going to be special. Anyone else picking this up? If so, for 360 or the PS3?

Fucking amazing!!! Ray if you dont have this game, you're missing the fuck out! First online thats fucking with COD4 online imo. But its a totally different vibe, so i wouldnt compare them str8 up.

I didn't get it yet b/c it's finals week. My last one's in about 40 minutes, so I'd say once I sell my textbooks I'll have the disposable to make it happen. Really looking forward to this shit.

After playing nightly until about 1 a.m. and half-assing my job, let me tell you, 6 million people can't be wrong. Wow! From what I've seen it's got a chance to be one of, if not the best, games ever. I just can't stop. And when I play, I'll play for about 3 hours and complete like 1 mission. I just drive around exploring, shooting pool, throwing darts, earning some "hot coffee", and beating down drivers who decide to run into me with their cars.

And I really haven't even played much online yet, but when I did, I got in a car with 2 of my boys, began driving down the street to execute a few drive-bys, but just as I drew my gun, our car got anniahlated by some dude with a rocket launcher. All 3 of us...dead...just like that. Sick.

just got it for 360...going to play it now...

I have it on XBox 360 and it is absolutely amazing. Second best game I've ever played.

I've done a couple Brucie missions, and i must saying the segments with Brucie are hilarious. He so far is easily the funniest character on the game.

GTA IV star only made $100,000
Niko Bellic wants his money.

Forget liberty - give us residuals or give us death. It's a sentiment shared by countless actors, and one most poignantly offered by Michael Hollick, better known as the voice of GTA IV's immigrant star, Niko Bellic.

In a New York Times article, Hollick revealed that he earned about $100,000 for 15 months of work recording dialogue for his role as GTA IV's protagonist. The game, however, has gone on to rake in over $600 million in a mere two weeks.

And Hollick won't see a dime of it.

"It's tough, when you see Grand Theft Auto IV out there as the biggest thing going right now, when they're making hundreds of millions of dollars, and we don't see any of it," Hollick told the Times. "I don't blame Rockstar. I blame our union for not having the agreements in place to protect the creative people who drive the sales of these games."

The pay discrepancy stems from the fact that Hollywood has yet to make provisions for electronic media, including video games or the Internet. Instead, actors get paid standard Screen Actor's Guild day wages for their work (roughly $730), leaving them out of the lucrative residual loop should a property become financially successful. When it becomes as successful as GTA IV, an actor could be out literally millions.

Hollick is also peeved that he received no additional compensation for lending his voice to the game's massive marketing blitz.

"The first GTA 4 trailer generated something like 40 million hits online, and that's my voice all over it, and I get nothing. If that were a radio spot, I would have. Same thing for the TV ads. I recorded those lines for the game, but now they're all over television."

Further muddling matters is the fact that numerous artists, programmers and engineers contribute to the creation of a virtual character like Niko Bellic. Where, execs claim, do you draw the residual line?

We suspect they're about to find out. The issue bears a distinct resemblance to last year's writer's strike, leading many to speculate a similar battle between the Actor's Guild and Hollywood this summer. After spending a few weeks playing GTA IV, I wouldn't bet against the Niko. Have you seen what that guy would do for money?

I just got it this weekend for the 360...little late I know. First time owning a GTA game and I got say this game is titties on my face. This will hold me over until ncaa/madden.

Anyone know if you can hook back up with the chicks that dumped you? I was rolling with Kiki, the lawyer chick, and I could call her and she would get the cops off my back. But then, I picked her up for a date on a motorcycle and crashed head on into a taxi and sent her flying about 40 feet. She then proceeded to run away, and then she called me about 5 minutes later and "dumped" me. Can I get her back?

Cool game. You can get in a wreck on a bike and send you gf sailing and she comes back to you...later on. SWEET!
