View Full Version : Predict the Lions first pick Glenn 04-26-2008, 12:10 PM BEFORE 3 pm, preferably I'll go with Jerod Mayo Glenn 04-26-2008, 12:21 PM I'll go one further and predict that Mayo is a bust. In typical Lions fashion, of course. The best pick for them at #15 is Jeff Otah, IMO, but Millen's in the hizzouse. BubblesTheLion 04-26-2008, 01:25 PM I'll take the player that will bust or won't be here in 4 years for 500 alex. I'm thinking about rooting for the Browns. Glenn 04-26-2008, 02:22 PM You guys are lame. Timone 04-26-2008, 02:36 PM I'm thinking about rooting for the Browns. I knew you'd come out as a Brady Quinn fan eventually. Timone 04-26-2008, 04:55 PM Gosder Cherilus, who woulda thunk it? Tahoe 04-26-2008, 05:02 PM ^ I knew it was going to be Gosder. darkobetterthanmelo 04-26-2008, 05:06 PM who didnt? DrRay11 04-26-2008, 05:21 PM Just sounds like a bust. Tahoe 04-26-2008, 05:26 PM If he isn't on his own, the Lions can help DrRay11 04-26-2008, 05:52 PM Gosder Cherilus. UxKa 04-26-2008, 06:39 PM Last year the Lions could have had Joe Thomas who made the PB as a rookie but instead took another WR. This year they take an OT who isn't half the player Thomas is when they could have had any WR in the 2008 class. It's likely that none of the WRs in this class will be as good as Johnson, but Thomas + 2008 WR is better than Johnson + Cherilus. I lol at Millen again. DrRay11 04-26-2008, 06:57 PM Lions comin' right up on the 2nd round pick here. Tahoe 04-26-2008, 07:11 PM Last year the Lions could have had Joe Thomas who made the PB as a rookie but instead took another WR. Glenn 04-26-2008, 07:36 PM Mayo = HOF DrRay11 04-26-2008, 07:36 PM I'm not really mad about Dizon... Although we need ILB. DrRay11 04-26-2008, 07:38 PM Yeah, it's unfortunate he went so soon... darkobetterthanmelo 04-26-2008, 08:04 PM Last year the Lions could have had Joe Thomas who made the PB as a rookie but instead took another WR. It's likely that none of the WRs in this class will be as good as Johnson, but Thomas + 2008 WR is better than Johnson + Cherilus. I lol at Millen again. I disagree. The difference between Johnson and 2008 WR is far bigger than the difference between a good OT and a decent one in Cheridus. Calvin's measurables can't be found in any draft class in the future. You can find Joe Thomas every year. BubblesTheLion 04-26-2008, 08:14 PM I disagree. You can find Joe Thomas every year. Yes, you could have found him at 15, and we traded down to pick up a POS. That's the ultimate LOL of this draft, our RUN GAME oline problems were solved right there at 15, and we fucked the dog. Go Browns. DrRay11 04-26-2008, 08:18 PM Albert looked very good on the reel FWIW... UxKa 04-26-2008, 08:26 PM I disagree. The difference between Johnson and 2008 WR is far bigger than the difference between a good OT and a decent one in Cheridus. Calvin's measurables can't be found in any draft class in the future. You can find Joe Thomas every year. Rookie Pro Bowl OTs don't happen every year. Ask the Jets and Raiders how they feel about their recent OTs who were drafted that high. DrRay11 04-27-2008, 10:15 AM Ah, we didn't take Connor. Fuck. DrRay11 04-27-2008, 11:23 AM Traded to get Dallas's pick. DrRay11 04-27-2008, 11:24 AM Cliff Avril, DE. Zekyl 04-27-2008, 12:13 PM So will Avril play DE or LB for us? Everywhere I've looked, they've said he may not have the bulk to play DE at the next level. Also, the DT from Florida State that we took, everyone says he's inconsistent and also lacks size. Dizon was an OLB in college but from what I hear, he's a good fit as an ILB in the Tampa-2 for us. WTFchris 04-29-2008, 10:23 AM Well, I was out of town or I would have predicted Chris Williams to us in the 1st. I thought Albert would have been gone and Williams would have been there. I like the OT pick (in fact I had us taking him with the Roy/Dallas trade we mentioned). He's a better RT and run blocker. Too bad we couldn't have gone down a few more picks and got him, but I'm sure Millen tried that. Dizon looks like a good fit. I really like the Stewart pick. I don't know anything about the DL players we got, but we definately needed some help there. If they pan out this might be his best overall draft yet. Yes, Roy and KJ were a good first round, but we haven't gotten much from the other rounds in the past. Zekyl 04-29-2008, 10:47 AM I don't know anything about the DL players we got, but we definately needed some help there. Both are considered vastly undersized. WTFchris 04-29-2008, 10:52 AM Well, I read the DT was a very good gap filler that will stop the run. Perhaps he compliments Redding well, I don't know. You won't get a complete player in the 3rd round anyway. Everyone has flaws there. Glenn 04-29-2008, 10:53 AM From my understanding, the Tampa 2 doesn't necessitate size, more speed and technique. Which means when the next coach comes in and wants to run a completely different system... |
