Good win tonight. Cabrera has been hitting the hell out of the ball as of late.

This would have been a TOUGH one to lose with all those runners on in the first 3 innings and only scoring 1.

The offense is still sputering. Hard to say that scoring 8 but this game could have easily been a 12-4 type game.

They put up four big ones...

Glenn

The Tigers have 2 quality starts so far this year.

Nice.

Galarraga has one of them.

No other team has fewer than 8.

Timone
04-21-2008, 01:18 PM
I agree with Glenn.

MoTown
04-21-2008, 01:19 PM
If Galaraga continues this kind of play throughout the whole year, I say make him the 5th starter and move Nate to Closer/Setup.

Dontrelle needs to lose 10 lbs before we do that though. I'm convinced that's his problem.

Glenn

I've mentioned this before, but I think about half the roster is too heavy.

They need Arnie Kander.

I think Pete Rose used to do that.

Timone
04-21-2008, 02:36 PM
Just a shitty throw by Rios for home plate that was way off.

Another great outing by Galakillimanjaro...worked through a couple innings where he put guys on, which he didn't have to do in the last game vs. Cleveland (if I recall).

How long will they keep running Jacque Jones out there? (.178)

Tahoe
04-21-2008, 02:59 PM
I'd rather see JJ than Thomas. That guy obviously can't defend center field.

Glenn
04-21-2008, 03:01 PM
Craig Monroe hit higher than .178, and look what happened to him.

JJ probably hasn't shoplifted any belts, though.

Timone
04-21-2008, 03:03 PM
His middle name probably isn't Keystone either.

Glenn
04-21-2008, 03:12 PM
What do you think, Wil?

Wilfredo Ledezma
04-21-2008, 03:22 PM
I think Jacque will get chances at least up until the ASB before they think about releasing him. The only "excuse" he has is he's not really getting consistent AB's since he's in a platoon w/ Thames, but at this point neither have done anything spectacular.

I wish it were possible to move Miggy in LF and keep Inge at 3rd, but I don't think that's an option.

I say Jacque stays on the team all season, he's still an above average defensive outfielder, but he has almost no trade value, whereas Thames does if we had to make a move come deadline.

Wilfredo Ledezma
04-21-2008, 03:23 PM
also, props to Aqulino Lopez, Clay Rapada, and Denny Bautista, all 3 have been outstanding this season...

Zach Miner, not so much
