Timone 04-17-2008, 10:50 AM Sweep.
Atticus771 04-19-2008, 11:36 AM The ATL is gonna shock some peeps!
Timone 04-19-2008, 11:51 AM By winning 1 game, right?
MoTown 04-19-2008, 02:52 PM Atlanta isn't coming within 15 points of any game.
BubblesTheLion 04-19-2008, 04:59 PM Atlanta isn't coming within 15 points of any game.
Some people believed that the Warriors had no shot against the Mavs (idiots)
Some people believed that the American people weren't stupid enough to elect George Bush twice!
Some people believed that tape worms were a great way to a slim figure!
Well, I'm going against convention, and telling you, the Hawks will come within 15 points in at least 1 game!
I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES!
Black Dynamite 04-20-2008, 09:11 AM I'd prefer to play Boston over the Cavs. So actually dont want Atlanta to do more than test the Celts a lil.
Glenn 04-20-2008, 10:16 AM I'd prefer to play Boston over the Cavs. So actually dont want Atlanta to do more than test the Celts a lil.
The definition of crazytalk.
Black Dynamite 04-20-2008, 10:27 AM I think we match up better to boston. I could care less who we play though.
MoTown 04-20-2008, 12:15 PM I'd rather play the Hawks than the Celtics.
Zekyl 04-20-2008, 12:17 PM I could care less who we play though.
Well, I'm glad to hear that you do, indeed, care.
Black Dynamite 04-20-2008, 09:20 PM C'mon doc rivers, show flip how bad coaching is really done baby.
Timone 04-20-2008, 09:21 PM Boston came out and jumped to a 23-10 lead I believe, and it's now a 4 point game.
Upset #2?!
don't even answer...
Black Dynamite 04-21-2008, 12:51 AM I hate doing it, but credit to Doc Rivers coaching wise. He kept on his guys for 48 minutes and didnt let up. Even all star vets need discipline behind them sometimes. I still think his x's and o's are average along with his rotations, but he stepped up coaching discipline in keeping the lead towards the end.
Black Dynamite 04-23-2008, 12:44 PM Mike (Boston): If the Celtics end up winning it all, who do you think will be the finals MVP?
SportsNation David Thorpe: (12:32 PM ET ) Rondo.
Glenn 04-23-2008, 12:48 PM I wonder if Rondo is one of Thorpe's clients?
Black Dynamite 04-23-2008, 11:54 PM But it was Bibby, who called the locals fair-weather fans during the week, who drew the ire of the sold-out Boston Garden crowd.
its the truth. but dont say it bibby.
MoTown 04-24-2008, 08:09 AM Atlanta isn't coming within 15 points of any game.
I got nervous last game - a nineteen point win is cutting it close.
Atticus771 04-26-2008, 09:02 PM Atlanta up right now. Could they steal a game and make Boston wear itself out an extra game?
Timone 04-26-2008, 11:00 PM Hawks with the win.
Horford hit a shot and was yapping at Pierce while he was down on the floor. Paul looked pretty pissed, so we'll see what happens in game 4. Probably gonna try to have a big game.
The Irony 04-26-2008, 11:43 PM lol @ pierce throwin up blood signs when al "BAMMED!@" him
Timone 04-26-2008, 11:46 PM Is that what he did?
I was wondering wtf that gesture was. That's usually something guys flash after they hit 3s, IIRC.
Timone 04-26-2008, 11:51 PM Brian Scalabrinie must be a Blood and know what that means, that's why he came up to get Pierce away.
BubblesTheLion 04-27-2008, 01:14 AM If both Boston and Detroit get picked off by the two shittiest teams in the playoffs, I'm going to put my dick in a blender, then drink it.
Kstat 04-27-2008, 03:33 AM Is that what he did?
Pretty sure that was a crip sign.
that was hilarious. al horford.....gotta love stupid youth. how he didn't get a tech is beyond me.
it was a fun game to watch.
metr0man 04-27-2008, 11:46 AM strangely, this makes me feel a little better, from the misery of the Sixers series. Though if Boston just blows out Atl in game 4 and it ends in 5 i'll be blah again. C'mon Hawks, make it a real series!
geerussell 04-27-2008, 12:23 PM Paul Pierce gets put in check just as bad off the court...
http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2007/06/21/paul-pierce-doesnt-know-mini-mes-name/
Wilfredo Ledezma 04-28-2008, 09:39 PM So uh...Hawks aren't the only sub-.500 team putting up a fight.
I'd give up sex for a year to see the "greatest team in the history of mankind" lose to the Mario Wests and Solomon Jones of the world...
Wilfredo Ledezma 04-28-2008, 09:43 PM man, I swear, Paul Pierce has gotten so damn fat...
must've gotten it from 'Toine
Timone 04-28-2008, 09:44 PM Josh Smith is awesome.
Wilfredo Ledezma 04-28-2008, 09:45 PM He's a restricted free agent after this season...
I'd at least give him an offer sheet, make ATL max him out
Timone 04-28-2008, 10:38 PM I bet Phoenix wishes they still had Joe Johnson.
Kstat 04-28-2008, 10:46 PM Well, boston just took all the media ire off of us...
BubblesTheLion 04-28-2008, 10:51 PM I told ya'll the Hawks would come within 15 points : )
BubblesTheLion 04-28-2008, 10:52 PM JUST MAKE ONE JOSH!!!!
Timone 04-28-2008, 10:53 PM That was a good game.
BubblesTheLion 04-28-2008, 10:55 PM Wooooo, Hawks win the championship!!!..... Errrr...
Woooo, HAWKS MAKE THE PISTONS LOOK LESS PATHETIC THAN BOSTON!
DrRay11 04-28-2008, 10:57 PM Wow, the end to that game was fuckin' sweet.
Fuck yeah. Stop yer whinin Detroit fans lol
Jesus.... Imagine a Flip Saunders vs. Doc Rivers playoffs series. Are there 2 coaches that are shittier in the playoffs in all of basketball?
Black Dynamite 04-29-2008, 04:04 AM it helps i guess. but reminds us that cleveland is a definite possibility for us in the ECF if we get there. Also great work by joe johnson and decent work by mike woodson.
Wilfredo Ledezma 04-29-2008, 07:42 AM Are there 2 coaches that are shittier in the playoffs in all of basketball?
No.

I was just thinking that too, seeing Joe Johnson magically carve his way through that "unstoppable" Boston defense. Don't forget, LeBron has already single-handedly torched these guys twice during the regular season, and the times the Celtics did beat Cleveland, Bron-Bron didn't even play...
What it also comes down to, is it doesn't matter if Tom Thibodeau is your assistant coach, Ray Allen is still a horrible defender...same with Sam Cassell. Teams need to exploit that more...and last night Joe Johnson did
Glenn 04-29-2008, 08:15 AM Joe Johnson is a stud and hardly anyone knows it.
That was a kick ass game last night. I didn't have internet access where I was watching it or I would have been all over this place talking about it while it was going on.
Never a doubt in my mind that Pierce was going solo that last possession for Boston. Guy is completely predictable.
Only thing I hated about that game was that it showed Boston was weak against things the Pistons don't have, speed and slashing ability.

:cogent:
I love seeing Pierce lose.
Fucking hate that guy, always have.
Glenn 04-29-2008, 09:01 AM Let's see if Stern treats the Boston players the same way he did the Phoenix players last year.
A couple of the Celtics players on the bench came onto the floor when the KG/ZaZa thing was going down.
What do you think will happen?
Glenn 04-29-2008, 09:09 AM Also,
http://www.nba.com/analysis/rules_e.htm...rticleList
Any player or coach guilty of intentional physical contact with an official shall automatically be suspended without pay for one game. A fine and/or longer period of suspension will result if circumstances so dictate.

Big Swami 04-29-2008, 09:10 AM Jesus.... Imagine a Flip Saunders vs. Doc Rivers playoffs series. Are there 2 coaches that are shittier in the playoffs in all of basketball?
Mike Brown?
Glenn 04-29-2008, 09:11 AM http://www.boston.com/sports/basketball/celtics/articles/2008/04/29/leveled/
To make matters worse for the Celtics, it's possible that Garnett and Kendrick Perkins could be suspended for Game 5 for their involvement in a second-quarter skirmish last night. Hawks forward Marvin Williams also is in jeopardy.
After a loose rebound with 7:24 left in the half, a frustrated Garnett gave Atlanta center Zaza Pachulia an elbow after the play was dead. Pachulia retaliated with what appeared to be a head butt. Players on both teams began to bunch up and mouth off, but the coaches ran on the floor to separate them.
Pachulia was given a foul and technical foul while Garnett, Johnson, and Boston's Sam Cassell were assessed technicals.
Replays showed Garnett shoving referee Ed Rush, and Perkins and Williams went on the floor from the bench, which usually means an automatic one-game suspension.
"I don't know anything about it," said Celtics guard Ray Allen, who had a team-high 21 points. "I'm sure if there is some relevance, then we're going to have to deal with it."
So let's hear from David C. Stern on this.
The "C." is for "consistency".
Stern was at the game, btw. At one point they had the camera on him during the scuffle but then quickly realized their jobs were at stake if they didn't cut to another camera.
Glenn 04-29-2008, 09:27 AM Yeah, I saw when Cheryl Miller asked him what "menacing gesture" meant. He replied with something like "a menacing gesture is whatever gesture Stu Jackson considers menacing".
Big Swami 04-29-2008, 09:44 AM Gotta love Stern.
Good job on that call, Dave! "Yeah, I think we were right to take action."
Dave, you fucked up! "I trust Stu Jackson's judgment."
Black Dynamite 04-29-2008, 09:49 AM When Atlanta wins one in Boston, then I'll be impressed.
Also if Bibby ever grows some balls again, Atlanta wins the series. He may not though. His decision making much like billups has been pathetic the past couple years.
DrRay11 04-29-2008, 10:02 AM I loved how Bibby was setting screens for Johnson late in the game up top. I was giggling.
Atticus771 04-29-2008, 06:50 PM Just to remind everyone of my incredible foresight...
The ATL is gonna shock some peeps!
With the potential for several key Celtics to be out next game, I say the ATL continues the shocking and wins game 5.
BTW, I should get a title under my name: WTF Resident Composer and Quasi-Prophet.
Timone 04-29-2008, 06:51 PM Just to remind everyone of my incredible foresight...
I say the ATL continues the shocking and wins game 5.
If that happens, you'll deserve that title.
Zekyl 04-29-2008, 08:38 PM No one ended up getting suspended, even though it was a similar situation with people walking on to the court as last year for the Suns, when two of their stars got suspended for a game, yet no one from this series does? BS!
Atticus771 04-29-2008, 09:36 PM Gay. And wrong.
MoTown 04-29-2008, 10:43 PM That's terrible. Stern proves how he has favorites.
DrRay11 04-29-2008, 10:46 PM Yarg, this makes me slightly angry.
geerussell 04-30-2008, 12:13 AM If that had been Sheed laying his hands on a ref, he'd be facing the death penalty.
Wilfredo Ledezma 04-30-2008, 08:54 PM Where Upsets Happen?
Let's Hope So.
Go Hawks! Fuck Rajon Rondo and his 9 year old looking face.
http://www.necn.com/files/2008/03/27/vlcsnap-2444822.jpg
Timone 04-30-2008, 08:59 PM It'd be pretty sweet if ATL could get this one somehow. Then we can really believe they have a chance at winning this series.
Timone 04-30-2008, 10:26 PM Don't look now, but the Hawks are within 6.
Timone 04-30-2008, 10:28 PM Down 11, fuck Ray Allen.
BubblesTheLion 05-01-2008, 12:43 AM The NBA: Where Dick Bevetta Happens whenever David Stern needs him.
BubblesTheLion 05-02-2008, 02:03 AM Lets go Hawks, push this shit to 7.
Kstat 05-02-2008, 10:51 PM Flip Saunders>>>>>>Doc Rivers.
Good lord the Celtics have no strategy at all late in the game.
All those weapons, and their only end-game play is always "ray allen off a screen for 3."
The whole gym saw it coming and it wasn't even close.
Higherwarrior 05-02-2008, 10:57 PM how 'bout them hawks? their record might have been 37-45 but this team is much better than that. they're light years better than philly IMO.
i'd love to see them win game 7 but that's near impossible on the road for a young team. but who knows- nobody thought it would even get this far!
the east- no the whole nba had better prepare for this team in the coming years, because they're young, talented and only going to get better. they're gaining experience and their confidence is growing with each game.
bring on game 7! LOL at boston!!!!!!!
geerussell 05-02-2008, 11:01 PM Even if boston wins, they go into the second round rattled, having shown themselves unable to win a single playoff game on the road. Go Hawks.
Black Dynamite 05-02-2008, 11:03 PM Thank Goodness we got the Sixers. The hawks are a far more dangerous underdog because like the knicks, their talent is mucvh better than their record. They also have a great HC who was imo a big key to our title team(no coincidence that Wallace had his best offensive effort in the one year he was specifically working with woodson on his game).
metr0man 05-02-2008, 11:04 PM LOL@BOSTON
Go Hawks!! Even if Boston wins game 7 (and they probably will) teams should start learning about chasing 60+ wins...
08 - Boston wins 66 and has a tough first round.
07 - Dallas wins 67 and gets bounced in the first.
06 - Pistons win 64 and lose in the ECF.
05 - Spurs win 59 and the ring.
04 - Pistons win 54 and the ring.
That's a short sample, but the graph is a straight line and as of late the teams wearing the rings have won 58, 52, 59, and 54 games.
Wilfredo Ledezma 05-02-2008, 11:49 PM Seeing the C's drop another one was WELL WORTH the Tigs loss...I'll take that trade off any day of the week...
I'm officially on the Hawks bandwagon.
"SHOCK THE WORLD"
Wilfredo Ledezma 05-02-2008, 11:50 PM I'm starting to really think that there isn't a way in hell the Celtics will be able to stop LeBron...
We could very well be seeing Pistons/Cavs ECF Part 2...
Big Swami 05-03-2008, 12:12 AM This game was probably the most exciting of the entire playoffs so far. I'm actually really pulling for Atlanta to do well.
Black Dynamite 05-03-2008, 12:17 AM I'm starting to really think that there isn't a way in hell the Celtics will be able to stop LeBron...
You mean like they are Stopping Joe Johnson now? I dont think its an issue. The question is whether they can stop everybody else when they for Lebron to differ. The hawks are winning right now with defense and the supporting cast stepping up off Joe Johnson getting the clamps.
Black Dynamite 05-03-2008, 12:19 AM One thing i like is that the hawks seemed to have purposely drafted mostly guys who played in winning college programs. So I think that gets them a lil more hunger from Horford, Childress, and Williams than you'd normally get from your youths. .
Higherwarrior 05-03-2008, 12:40 AM dare i say that the hawks could beat the cavs right now....?
The hawks are winning right now with defense and the supporting cast stepping up off Joe Johnson getting the clamps.
Johnson has been fascilitating them on a level that's out of his mind too, at least tonight he was. Not saying you are wrong at all... just saying that he is making passes where I almost lose sight of the ball because passes like that don't happen and I'm thinking 'holy shit the ball is there now.' There was a triple team tonight when he was deep in the paint, and the ball squirted out to the near-side elbow and I don't know how he made it happen, then the Hawk made the shot.
Atticus771 05-03-2008, 01:08 AM Again, I'd just like to point out that I predicted the ATL would "shock some peeps." Check out page one. If they somehow win this series, which is highly doubtful, I think I deserve a title.
Vinny 05-03-2008, 01:08 AM <<<<<Delayed Reaction: LOL!@ Boston

On second thought...
Wilfredo Ledezma 05-03-2008, 03:40 PM Mike Woodson should get an interview for Flips job, I know the players love him here, I saw the Hawks twice at the Palace, and before both games Sheed, Rip & Tay were lovin on MW like he was their daddy...
