The leading candidate to replace John Hammond as vice president of basketball operations is former Pistons director of player personnel Scott Perry , with the Sonics. The Pistons have asked Sonics general manager Sam Presti for permission to speak to Perry about the opening.

That'd be awesome to get our best college scout back. he seems like a natural replacement for Hammond.

Jeff Weltman, I think he was the guy who was next in line to take Hammonds job. I don't know what his position was before he left w/ Hammond.

Weltman spent one season in Detroit and was responsible for coordinating the team’s draft preparation, scouting efforts, scouting schedules, and free agent visits.
