The pitching matchups, at least on the surface, are in our favor (considering we trashed Dice-K last year), if ever there was a series to silence the local media critics (aka Drew Sharp), taking 2/3 from the Red Sox in Fenway is the way to do it.

Looking at those pitching matchups, I think today might be "our" best shot at getting a game.

Looking ahead to game 3, I would think that the last thing a struggling team needs to see is a good knuckleballer.

^^Then again, if Wakefield doesn't have "it" for some reason, the Tigers could get on a roll. But I'm not counting on it.

That may be true, but they usually aren't in a team slump like this one when they face him.

These guys have been so off balance at the plate from what I have seen (tenuous/weak swings, 2nd guessing, pressing too hard, etc.) that the last thing they need at a time like this is someone that specializes in deception.

This was the first game I've seen this season. I'll leave it at that.

I had read the hitting was bad, but it was the worst I've seen the Tigers hit in a couple of years. There was, what, three well hit balls from the Tigers in the game (even the hits weren't impressive shots)? How many 3-0, 3-1 counts turned into outs?
