View Full Version : The 2009 Detroit Tigers Thread BubblesTheLion 04-06-2008, 03:39 AM Because this season is fucked. BubblesTheLion 04-06-2008, 03:40 AM Upon further review, fuck Motown for stealing my idea. It's a spiral riding a paradox into an infinity of suck. Wilfredo Ledezma 04-06-2008, 09:04 AM Because this season is fucked. Come on dude. It's April 6th. BubblesTheLion 04-06-2008, 09:41 PM Come on dude. It's April 6th. How many games do they have to win from now on(assuming this will be loss #6) to win 90? The tigers need to go 90-66 the rest of the way. , 24 games over .500 That's a stretch harder to do than 18 games over .500. And as a bonus, the first 6 losses have been inside the division. MoTown 04-06-2008, 10:10 PM And at home. Wilfredo Ledezma 04-07-2008, 05:02 PM How many games do they have to win from now on(assuming this will be loss #6) to win 90? Who cares, it's not about winning a certain number of games, but rather outdoing Cleveland, and as it stands, we are only 3 games behind the Tribe... You can go ahead and call the White Sox, Twins, and Royals "contenders" in the AL Central, but I'm going to go ahead and disagree with you. Wilfredo Ledezma 04-07-2008, 09:23 PM You are your record. Your record is meaningless this early. Dallas Mavericks started out 0-4 last year, yet ended up going 67-15. New York Yankees lost 7 games in a row last April, yet won 94 games... Records mean nothing. BubblesTheLion 04-08-2008, 01:35 AM Your record is meaningless this early. From the other thread THE CASE FOR THE TIGERS History sure doesn't work in their favor. No team has ever started 0-6 and played in a World Series. And only two teams - the '95 Reds and '74 Pirates - have ever recovered from an 0-6 start to make the postseason. There are more people in the history of baseball that have hit 600 home runs than there are teams to recover from an 0-6 start. So please shove your denial up your ass as soon as your head is removed from it. All is well, the playoffs are our divine right. Tahoe 04-08-2008, 05:22 PM Laughing during an invasion is NOT normal, but I did whenever that guy was being interviewed. DrRay11 04-09-2008, 01:17 PM What does the free agent list look like this offseason? Zekyl 04-09-2008, 01:18 PM Nice sig, Tahoe. Thanks. Even though it's got a Cleveland dig in it, lol Wilfredo Ledezma 04-09-2008, 06:22 PM From the other thread THE CASE FOR THE TIGERS History sure doesn't work in their favor. I'm sure no team has reached the WS after winning only 43 games 3 years prior either...see anybody can create a stupid stat, history means nothing, it's a year by year game, no team has ever lost the division w/ a 7 game lead with 17 to go, last year the Mets did... your shit is worthless Bubbles... Nothing is impossible. I agree. But don't confuse what is possible with what is likely. b-diddy 04-09-2008, 07:43 PM detroit is 0-7, boston is 4-4. that means we only have 155 games to make up that unsurmountable 3.5 games in the standings to catch boston. im not throwing in the towel just yet. people throw out the % of teams that made the playoffs after starting 0-7. teams usually start 0-7 because they are not playoff teams. kinda putting the cart before the horse putting these tigers with that group. we need to get healthy, and probably need some help in the pen, and we will be fine. i say this even if boston sweeps us too. b-diddy 04-13-2008, 03:12 AM my dad made a good point. 1/2 the team is latino. latinos got that thin blood and dont like playing in the cold. when the weather warms up, so will the bad. now what that means about october.... also, the guys on baseball tonight made the cogent point about willis. dude is overweight. hes got that big leg kick, but he doesnt lift it like he used to because hes out o shape. pitching coach needs to find a way to fix that and / or he needs to lose LBs. my guess is the latter, since im guessing you dont just drastically change your delivery over night. Zekyl 04-13-2008, 11:13 AM Well he's got some time to think about it now. Balkan 04-13-2008, 10:15 PM What is the latest on Brandon Inge being traded? The faster the Tigers get rid of him the better. The man has placed a curse on us. DrRay11 04-13-2008, 10:45 PM I don't follow... Balkan 04-13-2008, 10:57 PM Isn't there talk about him being on the trading block now that we have Cabrera? Zekyl 04-13-2008, 11:30 PM I think what he didn't follow was the idea of the curse. How has he placed a curse on us? DrRay11 04-13-2008, 11:58 PM Yes, Zekyl has my confusion correctly explained. Balkan 04-14-2008, 11:36 PM Oh, my mistake. I find it peculiar that Inge is doing good in contrast to the majority of the team who seems to be frozen right now. By means of curse, by asking for a trade he has created a bad aura in the clubhouse right now. Zekyl 04-15-2008, 12:45 AM Ahhh, makes much more sense, thank you. Timone 04-15-2008, 01:33 AM More like Jamie Walker put a curse on us, lol... BubblesTheLion 04-16-2008, 10:13 AM If we make it out of April with a .500 record, I will start watching the Lions again. DrRay11 04-16-2008, 10:54 PM Lions or Tigers? This thread is full of confuse. |
