Glenn 04-03-2008, 11:26 AM Fox News;didn't click link Hermy 04-03-2008, 11:28 AM He's clearly a little uptight, maybe you could help him out with that. I'll invite him over for beer pong. Not sure about his school, but Allegan is on Spring Break next week. Fool 04-03-2008, 11:37 AM I was thinking of a different type of bong. Hermy doesn't pass the douchy. Uncle Mxy 04-03-2008, 12:14 PM Our language has no distinct term for "a bunch of eras". But geologists really wanted to stress the demarcation point when the start of complex life forms happened. So, they came up with Cambrian and Pre-Cambrian. They never came up with a very meaningful word for these timeframes -- should it be the "Cambrian period", a "Cambrian epoch", the evolutionist equivalent of B.C. and A.D., or what? I don't blame anyone who labels it as the Pre-Cambrian era on some kind of placard, even if it's not technically correct. That said, kudos to the kid. :) Big Swami 04-03-2008, 12:27 PM "Pre-Cambrian" just means "all the shit that happened before complex organisms." Tahoe 04-04-2008, 06:43 PM Hermy, did they cover it on local news? Or when did they cover it? At the same time it got covered nationallly? The boy said he received a letter from Smithso and they spelled his name and street wrong. Glenn 04-04-2008, 07:12 PM Smithsonian has been going downhill lately, I've heard. Vinny 04-04-2008, 07:21 PM The boy said he received a letter from Smithso and they spelled his name and street wrong. I'm assuming the complaint forms he filled out we're hand-written, so it's probably a matter of him spending a little more time on his handwriting homework so people can read his damn writing.
