Yeah, I know it's early, but I'm psyched. I'm enjoying this team as of late.

Plus this is a pretty big game IMO, as they swept us last year. We need to make a statement.

Early, but I'm psyched for this one. I've been enjoying this team as of late.

This is also a pretty big one too IMO. They swept us last year and we need to send them a message.

3/4??

Kstat
04-01-2008, 10:45 PM
I think he means 4/4.

Timone
04-01-2008, 10:46 PM
Sheeeeyit.

Tired. Working on a new one.

Timone

I think he means 4/4.

You are correct, sir!

MoTown
04-01-2008, 10:49 PM
Or I could just change it to 4/4.

Timone
04-01-2008, 10:49 PM
Neverminding the other OGT that was fucked up by my evil twin...

I'm psyched! They swept us last Spring and we need to send 'em a message.

MoTown
04-01-2008, 10:49 PM
I'm going to sticky all 3 of these, just in case...

Zekyl
04-01-2008, 10:50 PM
I say we go with this one, since it was fixed and all.

DrRay11

No poll though...

Timone
04-01-2008, 10:51 PM
Made a new one. It's fresh. I think you'll like the options, fellas.

Tahoe
04-01-2008, 10:55 PM
Maybe this way, we can avoid the fighting in the game threads. :)

Kstat
04-01-2008, 10:56 PM
Flip said not to expect to see most of the starters again. He's only planning to use the full roster against playoff teams.

Timone
04-01-2008, 10:57 PM
Seriously, I amaze myself sometimes.

Tahoe
04-01-2008, 10:59 PM
How'd you think Samb did tonight Kstat?

Kstat
04-01-2008, 11:02 PM
typical samb. Outstanding energy for 5 minutes, and he's done for the night.

I need to see more out of him for longer stretches. I know he can be a game-changer for 3-5 minutes.

Samb has stamina issues the way Bynam used to. His body is so damn big, he isn't able to move it around at top speed without getting tired quickly.

Timone
04-01-2008, 11:04 PM
Tim = moron.

Tahoe
04-01-2008, 11:05 PM
I thought he gained weight the last time I saw him but he looked thinner again tonight.

I don't know enough about his game to know where his playing weight should be.

Kstat
04-01-2008, 11:07 PM
His weight isn't an issue to me as much as his stamina is. He runs out of gas very quickly and those blocks turn into fouls.

Tahoe
04-01-2008, 11:11 PM
Some inside info...

Flip says expect more of the same lineups(youngsters). He's only playing starters for playoff teams.

Thats not an exact quote.

Tahoe

You can't coach height and when you get a guy like Samb, its best to give him plenty of time to develop.

Not Darko time, if you are paying him a lot. If he isn't costing you much, keep him around.

Wow, three game threads?

This is nice.

Maybe we need a fourth and we can use one for each quarter?

Hermy

I'm going to this game after the Tigers game during the day. If you read about someone falling from the upper bowl into the crowd bellow, don't worry, I'm sure my body will go limp.

So we won't see Chauncey and Sheed again until the Boston series?

It's funny that this thread was started 3 days before the game, and then there haven't been posts in the past 2 days.

Anybody know which starters are sitting tonight?

Glenn

:langlois:

The skinny: New Jersey comes to The Palace lugging a three-game losing streak that has virtually eliminated the Nets from playoff contention – they’re four games back of No. 8 seed Atlanta in the loss column with just seven games left. Nets GM Rod Thorn wrung all he could from the Jason Kidd trade, getting a young point guard to build around in Devin Harris as well as salary-cap relief and two No. 1 picks, but it was too late to salvage this season. Both Richard Jefferson and Vince Carter are playing heavy minutes and putting up big numbers – Jefferson’s averaging 22.8, Carter 21.5 – but the Nets remain undermanned inside. Josh Boone and Nenad Krstic, still not back to where he was before the mid-season knee injury more than a year ago, are the current starters with rookie Sean Williams and DeSagana Diop, another product of the Kidd trade, coming off the bench. Marcus Williams, second-year point guard and former No. 1 pick, has been a disappointment. Bostjan Nachbar has holes in his game, but he can punch up the offense with his perimeter shooting off the bench.

What to watch: The Pistons, who will be going for their second straight season sweep of New Jersey, are likely to give their starters light minutes for the second straight game. Rip Hamilton, who’s missed four of the last five games since suffering a hip injury in the March 23 loss at Washington, didn’t practice again on Thursday and is almost certain to sit this one out. Chauncey Billups and Rasheed Wallace were in street clothes, as well, for Tuesday’s win at Minnesota. It makes sense that this would be Antonio McDyess’ turn to take a game off, but that’s just a guess. At any rate, expect to see lots of Rodney Stuckey, Arron Afflalo, Amir Johnson and Jason Maxiell. Flip Saunders said he also wants to give more time to Valter Herrmann over the final eight games. The Pistons’ next three games – Miami and New York follow New Jersey – are against non-playoff teams and are the most likely to see the young players get extended minutes.

Kstat

Rip is inactive tonight, every other starter is playing.

Kstat
04-04-2008, 07:26 PM
Also, no Vince Carter tonight.

Glenn

Anyone else think that Blaha sounds especially good tonight?

Must be the HD broadcast.

Either that or he gargled some alpaca blood during his pre-game warmups.

That's pretty wild, just about as soon as I posted that, they go to mono with black and white.

Fucked up.

Slightly OT, but for as much as I joke about the "where amazing happens" commercials, they looking really good in HD

Elements of those ads look like 3D, and they jump right off the set

Timone

The "where amazing happens" commercials are getting old. I do like the Haier commercial though.

Timone

Tigers in the house, they want to see what a winning team looks like.

Did I hear a "Ve vant Valter" chant from the crowd? Must've been my imagination.

Flip will use his bench in the playoffs and anyone who's paying attention knows Stuckey will get more than a few minutes in the post season. Did you hear that over at wtfdetroit.com?

Sorry George. Please don't hit me.

its will be interesting to see if our bench is stuckey / AA / amir or lindsey / dixon / ratlerr come playoff time.

You wonder if someday Stuckey will completely erase the memory of the Pistons selecting Darko Milicic with the second overall pick in 2003. After all, the draft pick the Pistons used to get Stuckey was obtained from Orlando in exchange for Milicic.

Probably not, huh?

DrRay11
04-05-2008, 10:16 AM
Is it time to bump the Stuckey thread?

anybody watch the LA Dallas game, those refs love kobe. If he even tries to go to the basket, immediate foul

Just watched the Nets broadcast. Mark Jackson is a huge Stuckey fan already. He has "elite point guard" expectations for him.
