just a curiousity question- didn't the pacers win the central in '04 when we won the championship?

in any case, another division title. *yawn*

all that matters to spoiled fans like us is whether or not we can win it all. anything less is a disappointment.

Yes. They won 61 games that year, we won 54.

The Pistons weren't the #1 seed in either of the two years in which they went to the Finals. Just sayin'.

You know if the Cavaliers were ever to win the Central, all the fans would buy the t-shirts.

And to think, 7 years ago an accomplishment such as this gave me a border- line erection.

The things I take for granted. *Sigh*

The pistons have won the central more times than any other franchise in history.

I think only Boston and LA have won more divison titles, period.

9 division titles is damn impressive, I don't care how many times you do it.

...or it's been around for 33 years....

Some days I can't tell, you know?

I'm split between the opinions on this. Generally speaking, yes it's a great accomplishment even if you have high expectations for your team at the start of the season. So in that sense I'm happy. On the other side... Chicago fell flat on their faces. I didn't expect them to place above the Pistons but holy shit they stunk it up. I thought the Bucks would have won a few more games too, and between those two teams the division should have been a bit tougher. In that sense, when we look back at this year not even considering what happens in the playoffs... what a shitty division title.

Yeah, but don't tell Bernie Smilovitz, who was pushing "7th Central Division title in 7 years" on the tube last night.

You're really not giving enough credit to Flip Saunders and his psychoflexative powers, which can bend wrenches and cause other teams to lose games.

They just can't cause his own team to "play the right way"
