Anybody have sleep paralysis? Out of Body experiences?

Last night my friend and I had a pretty big conversation about this. I have sleep paralysis probably twice per month... My friend claims he's often had out of body experiences, I "may" have had two, although I think it's just more of a strange dream. Who knows though I haven't done the research.

Last night I was able to control a dream. I made a left turn on a real road and it turned into a race track. I ran into a wall, but then was like, "fuck it, it's a dream" and fucking sped the rest of the way until I woke up.

Any interesting thoughts or facts on this subject? I find dreaming to be one of the most facinating subjects in psychology/physics.

I've never had sleep paralysis but every year or so I have a situation where I either can feel myself laying down and keep trying to get up and stop sleeping but can't or I continually dream about waking up over and over until I finally do.

No to both. But, I do get deja vu A LOT. I must dream something pertaining to these things because I swear I have been in that situation before, and once I notice it the situation unfolds just as I remembered it. Very wierd. Probably happens to me a couple times a month.

I had sleep paralysis once about 15 years ago, scared the hell out of me. I'm regularly a lucid dreamer. It can make scary dreams scarier because they are more realistic, but fun dreams that much more fun because you can just go crazy and do stupid things.

Same here... Probably a few times a month or so, it varies. It is such a strange feeling. huh...

That's more often what I have, but I get the shit where I am fairly aware of my surroundings and can't move.

Too bad I never dream about my alpaca bets or I'd know they were lowsy.

I've had a few dreams like that. I'm dreaming, and I'm trying to move and I just can't. Very weird. Never been able to control my dreams though.

I don't routinely remember my dreams. I sleep. I wake up. I work.

I had an odd dream last night about an ex-gf and her stalker dude psycho ex-bf. For some reason, we were shopping for kegs of beer or something on the floor, in a dimly lit outhouse or some kind of barn with a smallish roof. Not sexual in the slightest. And there he was suddenly, surprised as hell that we were there and vice versa. It's weird because I haven't thought of the dude since the last time I posted about him many months ago. It wasn't exactly like sleep paralysis as I understand it. Everyone was paralysed, frozen in time for a long stretch. Then I woke up, kinda disturbed by it.

Huh.. interesting.

Usually when my dreams are overly strange they wake me up. I immediately remember them and try to etch them in my memory.

I have the strangest dreams ever.

The only one I had that wasn't really weird was the one I saw Jesus in.

Just had a series of nightmares that I think I knew were nightmares because I was wrestling to awaken again...

The last one I remember fairly strongly was strange... God damn. So fucking strange. Moments that shouldn't have even been scary were scaring the shit out of me.... There was like this normal house but shit just kept popping up everywhere.

Then there was this one dark room where my mind just kept randomly creating objects, like there was 7 or 8 things that glowed on a coffee table on themiddle, and then about 7 or 8 more randomly generated. I do not remember what they were but I was terrified by this power. I then saw myself sleeping, and my blanket was a grid of black and white, sort of see through. I wanted it off of me as bad as anything, and awakened for real after I yelled for my father. I wake up and go out of my bedroom to gather myself, and my sister was out on the computer asking if I was OK. I ask why and she said she heard me yell "Dad."

Now I am here trying to cool myself. I don't know why this was so bad, but there were just so many nightmares, some fucked up shit all of which I don't remember, this was just the most recent. I just wanted it to end. Sometimes I curse my imagination.... So here I am, going back to bed because I have to go to work in the morning. Don't really want to go back to sleep right now, fearing this will continue... Oh well. Peace.

Shit, this thread brought back memories of that nightmare I had where the chick chopped off my dick. I was even more paranoid than I usually am after that one.
