Same amount per year that Hunter got, it's just the 8 years that is nuts.

That said, if he keeps accounting for 200 runs a year, that may be a massive deal in 6 years.

Contract amounts are just going to keep going up, so this could end up being a steal in the long run if he stays healthy and keeps batting well. He's still a young guy so this isn't bad at all.

Under 20 per year....That's a steal in my book.

The 8 year deal includes this season (2008) in which he will earn 11.3 million, so after this year, he will earn roughly 20 million per for the next 7 years...

He will be 31 when this contract is over...it's not crazy to think he can't get another deal similar to this when it's over...!

Damn, why don't more athletes get into BB... football = short unguaranteed deals with limited careers.

Hope this ain't no Juan Gone type situation.... jess gota sell more Pizza's... Lil Ceasars 4 every1... I'd pay an extra buck per pie for a contender !!!

3B Miguel Cabrera will receive $141 million for the seven-year contract extension he signed last week, including $22 million the last two seasons (2014 and 2015). "We're very, very thrilled," president/general manager Dave Dombrowski said. "One of the things that grated on us," assistant GM Al Avila said, "was people saying, 'You're looking to win now.' No, we're looking to win now -- and in the future." "I feel good here," Cabrera said. "I wanna say we are a winning team and we're gonna be a winning team." "I'm very impressed," Dombrowski said. "It's easy to see: He's in good shape. He's worked hard. He's moving around third base fine. He has soft hands. He has a great arm. If he keeps himself in the shape he is -- which I believe he will -- he can play third base for years. I'm thrilled to see that. He likes to play third base, and he's good at it. He's only going to get better."
