Timone 03-05-2008, 05:10 PM Damn, I did NOT see this thread. Timone 03-05-2008, 05:12 PM Tough call. Hm... Hmm... HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. Timone 03-05-2008, 05:19 PM Last meeting until the ECF's... If Boston gets there. Glenn 03-05-2008, 05:27 PM If our defense shows up... Timone 03-05-2008, 05:35 PM 84-77. Not sure who yet. Wilfredo Ledezma 03-05-2008, 05:43 PM Kind of funny how Glen Davis has done jack shit since the last time we played. I guess we know now how much of a fluke that was... Fat ass. Vinny 03-05-2008, 05:47 PM Seriously, how is this game not on ESPN? Wilfredo Ledezma 03-05-2008, 05:47 PM Seriously, how is this game not on ESPN? Probably b/c the Miami Heat are overdue for a nationally televised game... Timone 03-05-2008, 05:48 PM SHOW THE SUNS AND NUGGETS SOME RESPECT! Ok, don't. Beats me. The first one was nationally televised and now the last two aren't. We should feel lucky, as Detroit residents! Wilfredo Ledezma 03-05-2008, 05:48 PM Jesus Shuttlesworth is gonna get pwned by Ripper tonight...book it Timone 03-05-2008, 05:50 PM Look for Sheed to have a big game tonight. Remember, the last game (The Glen Davis Show) was the one he infamously didn't shower after. Glenn 03-05-2008, 05:50 PM Look for Sheed to have a big game tonight. Remember, the last game (The Glen Davis Show) was the one he infamously didn't shower after. And he still hasn't. Also, I AM ONLY KIDDING!!!!! Timone 03-05-2008, 06:08 PM If we win this game there should be no doubt in the ESPN assholes' minds that we're better than Boston (at least right now). Would be 2 wins on their court this season... MoTown 03-05-2008, 06:27 PM I liked SDB's poll better. I am boycotting this poll until further notice. By the way, I don't get to watch this game. So I want all of you to do play by play while I keep refreshing. This thread better be at least 280 pages long. geerussell 03-05-2008, 06:44 PM SHOW THE SUNS AND NUGGETS SOME RESPECT! Ok, don't. Beats me. The first one was nationally televised and now the last two aren't. We should feel lucky, as Detroit residents! That may be the first time anyone's said that and meant it. Ever. Ever ever? Ever ever. I think the pistons win this one. If they do, it closes the gap and puts a lot of pressure on the celtics. Detroit may not care much about having the best record but you can bet it's big for Boston. The more they have to wear themselves out getting it, the better for us. Timone 03-05-2008, 06:47 PM I have a feeling Boston is going to be the next victim of the 60 Win "Curse". Timone 03-05-2008, 07:45 PM Puke... Wizzle 03-05-2008, 07:48 PM rough start....no chat? b-diddy 03-05-2008, 07:48 PM feels kind of like a playoff game... inthat the jump shooting offense is tossing up brick after brick. any chance the announcer mentions sir douche baggins' 10kth post? Timone 03-05-2008, 07:49 PM They have to be stealing our signs... Glenn 03-05-2008, 07:55 PM Somebody is getting ejected tonight. Glenn 03-05-2008, 07:57 PM "What happened?" LOL@ [smilie=blaha.gif] Timone 03-05-2008, 07:57 PM At least the D is good... Timone 03-05-2008, 07:58 PM lawl @ Maxwell. Timone 03-05-2008, 08:05 PM The Pistons are really serious about actually playing Dixon. Tahoe 03-05-2008, 08:06 PM I'm here Glenn 03-05-2008, 08:07 PM THAT GIRL HAS ALPACAS IN HER YARD Fool 03-05-2008, 08:09 PM Wow that was a tough shot. Timone 03-05-2008, 08:10 PM Rasheed was pissed he couldn't take advantage of his matchup with Davis in the last game. Looks like he gets that in order to do that he needs to take his punk ass on the post office. Timone 03-05-2008, 08:13 PM By the way, what person in their 20s goes by the name Big Baby? Grow up, Glen. b-diddy 03-05-2008, 08:18 PM 7 to go! Timone 03-05-2008, 08:19 PM Dixon's fucking up. Timone 03-05-2008, 08:23 PM Pistons are fucking up. DrRay11 03-05-2008, 08:40 PM Why are we down 10? Kthxbye Timone 03-05-2008, 09:03 PM You can't just say timeout and get it, you have to make the actual gesture... Fuck this bias (refs, not Len). Tahoe 03-05-2008, 09:05 PM CBill with a hoop and some harm Timone 03-05-2008, 09:09 PM Billups hasn't even tried taking Rondo to the post office yet... Tahoe 03-05-2008, 09:12 PM He got that one jumper in the lane off of Rondo, but thats about it. These Celt announcers suck Pkshh! Timone 03-05-2008, 09:13 PM Beer! Timone 03-05-2008, 09:13 PM How are you watching this game, Tahoe? It on NBATV or something? Timone 03-05-2008, 09:14 PM LMFAO @ Maxwell. Again. Timone 03-05-2008, 09:15 PM That dunk sealed it. Game over. Timone 03-05-2008, 09:15 PM That was the biggest "WTF" foul I've ever seen. b-diddy 03-05-2008, 09:17 PM max should have ripped rondo's head off. Timone 03-05-2008, 09:17 PM Where is Tayshaun by the way? Tahoe 03-05-2008, 09:18 PM Hes standing at the top of the key. He's number 22. Timone 03-05-2008, 09:19 PM Where is his offense though? b-diddy 03-05-2008, 09:20 PM "WAY TO GO, EDDIE!!" lol@boston commentator cheering on eddie house while broadcasting. Tahoe 03-05-2008, 09:20 PM I knew that was what you were saying, i was just hackin. He left it in Detroit. Tahoe 03-05-2008, 09:21 PM "WAY TO GO, EDDIE!!" lol@boston commentator cheering on eddie house while broadcasting. heard that. I have my surround sound going and he blasted me out of my seat. Black Dynamite 03-05-2008, 09:23 PM Juan dixon is a liability ten fold on defense(he shouldnt be getting this many minutes in a defensive battle), Max should be behind Amir in the rotation, and we arent playing well. Timone 03-05-2008, 09:24 PM There he is. Tahoe 03-05-2008, 09:24 PM CBill with the heave to get another possession Black Dynamite 03-05-2008, 09:25 PM Billups is the Man Child relief. Tahoe 03-05-2008, 09:25 PM These fuckers can just turn it on (sometimes) and its exciting, but then they count on doing that. Timone 03-05-2008, 09:26 PM No mention of my 10,000th by Blaha. Timone 03-05-2008, 09:28 PM Pretty similar to the first game in Boston. Tahoe 03-05-2008, 09:29 PM Which post was the 10k? Timone 03-05-2008, 09:30 PM Amir is the Walter Hermann to Maxiell's Primoz Brezec right now. Tahoe 03-05-2008, 09:30 PM Didn't see that one post...I'm watching on DirecTV's NBA package. Timone 03-05-2008, 09:34 PM In the penalty already. Unfuckingbelievable. Black Dynamite 03-05-2008, 09:36 PM In the penalty already. Unfuckingbelievable. Sheed got two quick ones in a row. Out the game with five fouls for the moment. I dont like Juan Dixon getting more time in this game. But I'm not gonna make a big deal out of it, just dont like it. Timone 03-05-2008, 09:37 PM PJ Brown hasn't even seen any action tonight, which is weird...he kills us. Timone 03-05-2008, 09:38 PM Stuckey catch and shoot...WTF. Timone 03-05-2008, 09:46 PM Pissing this one away. Timone 03-05-2008, 09:49 PM What an implosion. Tahoe 03-05-2008, 09:49 PM The Pistons are Spartying this one. Tahoe 03-05-2008, 09:50 PM This is getting close to COD time. Timone 03-05-2008, 09:52 PM Tahoe, what sound would heroin make when you take it out? Joe Asberry 03-05-2008, 09:57 PM only Sheed and Chauncey showed up today, the rest was fucking horrible Timone 03-05-2008, 09:58 PM Again, where was Prince? jturbo 03-05-2008, 10:02 PM We lost with Pierce and Allen having sub-par games. Tahoe 03-05-2008, 10:02 PM ffffffffP! Tahoe 03-05-2008, 10:03 PM We took care of them by holding KG down, iirc. Different game tonight. Off to COD4 Wilfredo Ledezma 03-05-2008, 10:09 PM blah, shitty game, I don't expect KG to shoot like that more than once or twice in a 7 game series, not to mention, we scored 11 and 13 pts in the 1st and 4th and still kept it close... looking at the bigger picture, we were on a back to back, travel day, while boston had the previous couple days off, and at the end of the day, we keep the 3 seed, orlando won, and boston is STILL going to have to deal with the Cavs... and i swear, kendrick perkins is the biggest fucking piece of shit in the nba...and rajon rondo's head has an oblong shaped figure that makes you want to punch him in the balls AND WHAT THE FUCK WAS CHAUNCEY'S TECH FOR!?!?! yargs 03-06-2008, 09:47 AM I don't know, this still looks like the last few years.... yet another 70 point outing in a game played in a playoff atmosphere. It still appears that the starters aren't good enough to carry this team in big games and the bench can't score enough to make up for it when the inevitable 1 or 2 starters have off games shooting the basketball. Still, it's only the beginning of march and the pistons are trying to see how dixon and ratliff can help. I still kinda think the team should consider moving dyess to the bench to further increase the bench's potential offensive output plus I think he's more effective when he plays less minutes (not to mention the wallace/dyess combo gives up too many points near the basket). But whom do you replace him with? Maxiell? At one point I thought this was the direction they should go but he's mysteriously playing like garbage the last few months. Probably not. Theo Ratliff? Something to consider. Have him establish the tone from the start of the game that it's dangerous to enter the lane and then play him sporadically for the rest of the game depending upon matchups. This lessens the minutes for mcdyess, provides scoring for the bench with mcdyess and gives Rasheed the help that only a legit center can provide. The pistons of old used to do this with James Edwards along with Bill Laimbeer to start the game although the mindset was different. They used edwards to establish a low post presence/mindset on the offensive end in hopes that it eventually frees up shots for their perimeter players. They then used edwards sporadically the rest of the game. Just something to consider. MoTown 03-06-2008, 10:31 AM I'm not one of those guys who thinks Amir is the answer (this season), but I think mixing it up right now and starting him would be something to look at. I know he gives up too many fouls and he's not the best on-ball defender yet, but having him behind Sheed would be another line of defense for blocked shots. I think the time would help the kid and get him more playoff ready. I think the playoffs hinge on the kids this year. The starters are going to do what they do. They'll have good games and bad. The part where we'll win or lose games is when Stuckey and Amir play. If those two can come in and energize the rest of the squad, the Pistons will be the team to beat, not only in the East, but overall. umichjenks 03-06-2008, 01:24 PM Hey guys, I didn't have a chance to watch the game. I had a basketball game at the time. I've read the previous posts but was wondering if anyone could sum it up for me? I talked to some buddies and they said that we just looked tired in the 1st and 4th quarters (maybe from this huge road trip we just had and playing seattle on tues.?). My friend said Rondo was also getting into the lane and throwing up crazy shots and falling and getting veteran calls. I know on the replays of the game Amir got burned by KG but seriously, we aren't going to catch boston and Cleveland or Orlando will not catch us....WHY CAN'T WE START AMIR? Try it for a half here or there or for a few games and bring Dyess off the bench. Amir and Sheed down low would be pretty solid and having Sheed with Amir out there would limit his mistakes. It would also give Amir a HUGE huge burst of confidence if the coaching staff said "hey we need to jolt our starting line up and we think you're the missing piece". Come on Flip, just give it a shot, what's the worst that can happen? We'll lose a few reg. season games and we develop Amir, oh no we can't do that. Wilfredo Ledezma 03-06-2008, 01:40 PM If you start Amir, and I love the guy to death just like all of you, but he will foul out by the 2nd quarter if he starts... MoTown 03-06-2008, 02:06 PM I'm not saying change his minutes, I'm just saying change when he plays them. It will be a huge boost to the intensity in the first and third quarters. Black Dynamite 03-06-2008, 09:07 PM My friend said Rondo was also getting into the lane and throwing up crazy shots and falling and getting veteran calls. Yep, same thing that happened with Boobie last playoffs getting calls at the basket. Glenn 03-07-2008, 08:46 AM :mccosky: Some Boston out-takes My wish for the Pistons is this: Lose the sense of entitlement. You haven't won anything in three seasons. I love your confidence. I even love your arrogance, when it's put to positive use -- like when you give up 41 points in the first quarter to Seattle and still know, without a doubt, that you are coming back and winning that game. Love that. But with 20 games left, I want to see you put that chip back on your shoulder. I want to see you get that underdog mentality going again, that us-against-the-world thing you had in 2004. Back in 2004, if you saw Steve Javie and Marc Davis were working a big game, it would galvanize you. "We ain't going to let those guys beat us." Now, you see them, like you did in Boston, and it's like, "Darn, they are going to stick it to us again." Then it's like a self-fulfilling prophecy when Rasheed Wallace gets into early foul trouble and Boston gets a favorable whistle down the stretch. Right now, Boston and Cleveland are playing better basketball than you are. They are playing with more passion and with more fury. There is no reason for them to be hungrier than you. Your legacy is at stake. Either you are going down as one of the great teams of all time or you are going down as a one-hit wonder. You have 20 games to get yourselves right. There were things that happened in Boston, regardless of the scheduling, regardless of anything, that were tough to take from a team with so much pride. A couple of examples: The slow passive start, firing up the first available jump time and again, allowing the Celtics to punch first and establish their pace. Tayshaun Prince arguing a no-call while his man, Paul Pierce, beat him down the floor for a basket. In the third quarter, playing catch-up, Antonio McDyess stands flat-footed while Glen Davis rips down an offensive rebound and scores the put back. Rajon Rondo blowing past Rip Hamilton, going coast-to-coast and dunking while three would-be defenders stand and watch. Rondo twice stealing an offensive rebound from two Pistons. Not making a single basket and missing six straight shots in the final five minutes after coming a bit unglued by a debatable offensive foul call by Javie on Chauncey Billups. Billups got a technical foul for arguing and the next four whistles went against the Pistons. Circle the wagons, fellas. You are going to get some bad whistles in the playoffs. You have to make up your minds right now not to let that deflate or defeat you. Get that chip back, man. There was a lot of talk about the by-play between Wallace and Flip Saunders in the fourth quarter. Wallace picked up his fourth and fifth fouls in the same possession and the cameras must have caught him telling Flip that he wasn't coming out of the game. Saunders, rightly, immediately took Wallace out of the game and endured some harsh words from Wallace for his trouble. What's important about that isn't that Wallace demanded to stay out there. The important thing is that Saunders held firm. He didn't give in, and when Wallace came back in later, he drained a big three-pointer to pull the Pistons within a point. Speaking of Sheed, his left ankle was pretty sore after the game. The Pistons are listing him as probable, but I wouldn't be surprised if he sat out Friday in New York. Theo Ratliff is expected to be activated. If Sheed plays, then probably Walter Herrmann would sit. One last aside about Boston: Did Kendrick Perkins really get 20 rebounds? I know it said so on the stat sheet, but the stat sheet also said Wallace had no blocks and I know for a fact he had at least two. I am going to ask Ron Oliver -- the Pistons video coordinator -- to double check, but I would be shocked if Perkins really got 20 boards. The Pistons did miss a ton of shots, but I've seen 20 rebound performances before and that sure didn't look like one. |
