View Full Version : Jerry Stackhouse
Wilfredo Ledezma 02-13-2008, 06:05 PM Not sure if this was mentioned previously, but he's likely going to be bought out in New Jersey, and can't resign with Dallas until 30 days after his buy out date...
Kind of an entertaning idea, but what about adding him for the remainder of the year??? Wouldn't cost us anything, and would definitely give us a HUGE boost for the playoffs...even if he's not the same player he was when he was here before...
Timone 02-13-2008, 06:06 PM You mean he won't shoot 40% from the field? Damn.
He'll go back to Dallas.
Wilfredo Ledezma 02-13-2008, 06:09 PM He'll go back to Dallas.
Think so?? Even with the 30 day lay off? That seems like a big obstacle if you ask me. What's going to stop him from entertaning offers elsewhere?? He can sign wherever he wants, and I'd think he'd be more open to joining a team he's familiar with (from a front office standpoint) rather than a team like Cleveland or Boston.
Not to mention, Jerry has to know how much easier things will be for him playing in the East rather than the West.
Timone 02-13-2008, 06:10 PM Nothing's going to stop him from entertaining offers from other teams. I just don't think he'd come here and will end up back in Dallas.
of course that's just an opinion though. I could be wrong...
Zekyl 02-13-2008, 06:11 PM I think he's happy in Dallas and he'd want to go back, especially now that they have Kidd. I'd like the idea of it if he wanted to come here, but he's going to go back to Dallas.
Timone 02-13-2008, 06:12 PM Of course, his ego could be a little bruised after being traded out of Dallas.
Zekyl 02-13-2008, 06:13 PM I think Dallas talked to him about it and said "we have to include you to make this work, they'll buy you out right away and you'll be able to come right back, with a little time off for R&R" like we did with Hunter, only Hunter didn't have to wait.
WTFchris 02-13-2008, 06:16 PM He'd get PT with these other playoff teams as well:
Hornets (Butler and Bowen are the backups there)
Magic (would start over Evans probably)
I think he goes back to Dallas though. Why not? With Ager gone he'll get even more PT than before. Especially since they'll be short a center and have to go small more (with Dirk at center). Plus since he's a terrible shooter he would definately benifit from Kidd getting him easy baskets.
Timone 02-13-2008, 06:18 PM Orlando don't have any guards that are "good enough". That'd be a good move for them.

Keyon Dooling
"What the fuck are you talking about?"
Timone 02-13-2008, 06:26 PM lol @ Keyon Dooling.
He had a big game vs. us in the 05 ECF if I recall...

I know what I want for my 20th Birthday...
Glenn 02-13-2008, 06:33 PM Dallas still has their MLE and roster openings, too
WTFchris 02-13-2008, 06:35 PM Dallas still has their MLE and roster openings, too
I already signed fuckers.
Wilfredo Ledezma 02-13-2008, 10:53 PM so the 30 day waiting period in which he would have to wait if he wanted to go back to Dallas, WON'T play a factor then in your opinion???
Aren't Jerry & Sheed boys?? Ex-teamates at UNC??? How can nobody be thinking about this...
Zekyl 02-14-2008, 08:13 AM Because it doesn't matter. He wants to go back to Dallas. The only reason he was included in the deal was to make salaries work. They probably talked it all over in Dallas and made sure he knew how important he was to them so he'd come right back. They probably had an understanding about the whole deal.
DrRay11 02-14-2008, 10:37 PM Jerry here = less Stuckey. fuck it.
Wilfredo Ledezma 02-15-2008, 04:39 PM HA, NBA HAS RULED THAT IF STACKHOUSE IS TRADED, HE CANNOT GO BACK TO DALLAS THIS SEASON...
Timone 02-15-2008, 04:39 PM That's pretty funny.
Not coming here.
Glenn 02-15-2008, 04:42 PM Hmm, "we" could use more turnovers...
Timone 02-15-2008, 04:44 PM He can sing the National Anthem before the games, that's it.
Glenn 02-15-2008, 04:45 PM It's been a while since we had someone that can really kick the ball out of bounds with the game on the line.
It's probably been since we had that "Stackhouse" guy on the team.
Timone 02-15-2008, 04:48 PM If we bring back Steakhouse we might as well bring back Lindsey Hunter.
Timone 02-15-2008, 06:06 PM I've seen nothing about the NBA saying Stackhouse couldn't go back to Dallas if cut by NJ. Just people on ESPN talking about Stackhouse's comments about resting for 30 days and how the league doesn't like that he said it or whatever.

talk to the hand
Timone 02-15-2008, 06:13 PM Still not coming here.
Wilfredo Ledezma 02-15-2008, 10:49 PM I would take Stackhouse over Jarvis & Afflalo...
Zekyl 02-17-2008, 04:32 PM I wouldn't like him over Afflalo. I'd rather have AA getting the minutes and developing. He plays better D. Jarvis, on the other hand, would probably get pushed out of the way for Stack.
