WA: 97 delegates, 19 of which super (78 other) caucus
LA: 66 delegates, 10 super, (56 other)
NB: 31 delegates, 7 super, (24 other) caucus

cnn counts delegates:
-------pledged-----super----total
hilary:---840-------223------1063
barak:---831-------131------962

barak should cut into that lead today. with 194 total delgates, if he pulls 55% of voters, that would be 107 delegates and a pickup of 20 delegates on hilary. i believe the super delegates have remained split since the very beginning, if tha holds true, barrak is in great shape.

CNN's count is still broken on the pledged delegate front, and she's actually lost a couple superdelegates (to uncommitted) since.

Rumors are that Obama is winning in Nebraska by a wide margin, FWIW.

The Virgin Islands have primaries as well.

Don't forget Republican races. Kansas had theirs, and Huckmentum beat out McMentum.

I heard Hlllary doesn't have much in common with the Islands.

Huckabee well on his way to winning Louisiana, and neck-and-neck with McCain in Washington, with Ron Paul drawing significant votes. He's doing it on a shoestring budget, too. AFAICT, this is "anyone but McCain" voting.
WOW!

Obama, of course, was crushed by the Clinton machine... NOT!!!

it looks like obama can reallistically look to pick up 30-40 pledged delegates tonight.

got to think he is thrilled with the results.

tomorrow is the maine caucus. new england, plus hilary has been campaigining there longer. only thing barrak has going for himself is that its a caucus.

im guessing hilary wins the state in the 60 / 40 range. with 34 total delegates, she'll probably only pick up 5-8 pledged delegates.

btw, i was reading the editorial section of the freep today, which as higlighted by some woman named "cheryl" claiming that it would be unfair to hold a caucus to undue the primary results, and that voters who didnt vote and candidates who didnt run in the state need to be taught a lesson, and that the primary's results should stand and delegates should be added.

i would love to have this woman explain how this would embrace ANY of the values of democracy. pretty much the cornerstone of any democratic election, I would think, would be to have an idea of what you are voting on.

kind of defeats the purpose of democracy if you have an election and then after the fact determine what the election was deciding.

in short, i'd like to send this cheryl character to one of the many countries in the world where elections are window dressing and the results are predetermined.

i hate when people argue for what they want rather than what is right. everyone would like michigan and florida to have a say in this primary, but there is just no way to do that democratically.

cnn counts 1100-1039 hilary right now.

CNN is counting superdelegates, and -not- counting all the Super Tuesday stuff even though all states are very much ironed out within a delegate or two (with the notable exception of the bubble ballot mess in Los Angeles, which would likely get Obama a few more delegates).

Obama won Super Tuesday by 13 pledged delegates, which added to the 15 pledged delegate edge he had before Super Tuesday means that until today, he was up 28 pledged delegates or so. Check out:

http://origin.barackobama.com/resultscenter/

Today, his +/- was +40-50 pledged delegates, so he's up about 70 pledged delegates over Hillary. Ignore those superdelegate counts. They favor Hillary at the moment, but that's mostly bullshit. Either they'll either side with who has the most pledged delegates in the end, or Democrats lose the Presidential election. (Imagine the black vote if Obama gets the most pledged delegates and gets screwed by superdelegates!) Most superdelegate votes are "for sale" effectively -- vote for me and I give you something when I'm President.

Tim Duncan doesn't laugh much either... must be something about the Virgin Islands. Maybe it's the lack of virgins.

Then that's one thing Hillary and the Islands have in common: they both dropped one of their names in a public relations campaign.
