Just to let y'all know: the Blazers have one offensive play and only one...the screen-and-roll. It may seem like more, but trust me, it's just that one play.

Thanks man.

I like the Pistonians in a tight one, one where they probably fall behind early and come back to win late.

Brandon Roy is doubtful tonight, also is Zekyl really a Cavs fan???

Next week on TNT Heat Vs. Bulls, who the fuck is going to watch that gem??

Lamarcus Aldridge is a younger Rasheed Wallace.

All of the National Broadcast games are scheduled before the season begins, so I think that ESPN/TNT actually thought the Heat would be a good team. haha...hahaha...hahahaha

also is Zekyl really a Cavs fan???

Don't question it, just roll with it.
yep, he lives in Cleveland.

Zekyl consistantly PMs the Syndicate members (including phony Syndicate members) to change his username to "LeBronRulz." We won't let him desecrate our site.

Also I think Zek is a man with a lot of patience because a lot of people would have flipped by now at Karl and I for not ever letting this go...

I think it's too hard to flip out on me because I'm such a joke and I am too funny to get people into serious flame wars.

I think "we'll" give up 87 points tonight, but still manage to win by 18.

So what does that make the final score?

Can't you guys do math? Fucking lord.

It comes out to be 110-50.

I just take a deep breath and remind myself how much I really mean to you guys, and how much I really hate Cleveland sports. I get enough shit from all my friends at UT for being a Detroit sports fan (I just say Larry Hughes or Florida Gators and they usually shut up), I can deal with a little on here for you guys pretending I'm from Cleveland.

'SHEED NOT IMPRESSED WITH BLAZERS: 'They haven't done anything - they went on a little win streak'

Of all the surprise teams in the NBA this season -- including New Orleans in a good way and Chicago in a bad way -- none has been more surprising than the Portland Trail Blazers, who play at the Palace tonight.

The Blazers' mix of athleticism, youth and a strong offense has made them a Western Conference playoff hopeful one year after finishing with just 32 wins.

Going into Thursday night's games, the Blazers -- who lost No. 1-overall pick Greg Oden before the season -- were tied for ninth place in the formidable West. They opened the season 5-12 before going on a 13-game win streak that insiders reported was sparked by an intense practice filled with skirmishes.

That doesn't surprise Pistons coach Flip Saunders, who said sometimes a good fight is just what a team needs.

"That happens probably to every team at some point in the season," Saunders said. "You're going to have some type of situations when you go through rough stretches. Everyone becomes a little bit edgy, and that's a positive. It shows the competitive juices of a team, and that a team is not satisfied playing and collecting a paycheck, but they want to get out there and compete."

Since the 5-12 start, the Blazers, led by newly named All-Star Brandon Roy and fellow second-year player LaMarcus Aldridge, have gone 23-8.

"I've been in situations like that (fight) in Portland and D.C., college, high school," said former Blazer Rasheed Wallace. "That's what happens. It depends on the players and their mentality. Some players might take it (personally). Some players might leave it on the court."

Wallace said he hasn't been too impressed with the Blazers' rise because "they haven't done anything. They went on a little win streak, but when they have a better record than when I was there, that's when they'll have done something."

The Blazers' best record with Wallace was 59-23 in 1999-2000, meaning they'd have to go 31-3 the rest of the season to meet his approval.

So yeah, I'm beat, so if we could just put these guys away by the end of the 3rd quarter I can get to bed at a decent hour.

Mmmk?

I think Amir could be the next Dennis Rodman. He has great rebounding hands and a nose for the ball. His hustle is A-1. I may miss the second half, but definitely dvr on the rest. Good weekend wishes to everyone.

nice win tonight.

my boy hot rod had a phenomal game. i only saw him in the 4th but he was slinging laser accurate passes all over the court, especially at the rim (which is nice).

the best was his drive with 3:12 left in the game. no, he didnt finish (send him to the nbdl!!) but he got through like 3 guys to get to the rim.perhaps most impressive on the play was that he jumped out of the gym to get his own miss.

btw, another career high in points (13), 2 games after he set his previous career high (11) which a game before he had tied a career high (10). so in 3 out of the past 4 games he has tied or set new career highs. ill also make the bold prediction that 13 doesnt stand very long.

I saw my DVR of the 4th Quarter. IMO that run happened because of lack of ball movement and a lil bit of shot hogging by Jarvis Hayes. I think he is atrocious off the dribble. I expect a brick in that scenario as much (if not more) as i expect a make on a spot up 3 pointer.

Amir still gets weak fouls on him. But he definitely reminds me of Rodman.

Stuckey is a PG, not a combo guard. He plays his best when he's the primary ball handler. In fact I dont think him and Rip is as good a combo as him and affalo. Affalo doesnt look to shoot first or ball handle like Rip can sometimes. Puts Stuckey in a better spot.

The blazers have a natural talent for finding big guys with a great stroke. Cliffy, Rasheed(though technically they didnt draft him), Zach Randolph, and Aldridge is the new one.

Billups needs to shoot more often. IMO this team is at its best when he gets involved offensively.

Like I said in the chat: Primoz = Todd Jones of this team.

I didn't see the game. What happened in the 4th? Did Flip just tell them to take shot clock violations every possession or what?

b-diddy
02-09-2008, 01:59 PM
the kids were playing, under strict orders to work the clock every possesion. a few TO's happened when stuckey tried to force feed amir under the basket... amir was having trouble catching passes (uh oh).

but i think it was really just relying on guys that werent used to being relied on. jarvis and valter tried to create for themselves, which was useless. basically, portland had talent that should have been killing our guys on the floor, and thats what happened.

ps joe was onthe radio talking about amir loving to play defense, with a natural nose for rebounding. its a thought, a rodman esque role is possible. but i have concerns that his frame is more similar to kevin durant then rodman. im all for giving the kid as much pt as possible, im just not sure what kind of a role he could perform long term.

I had a V-Day thing (watching hot girl-on-girl action at one point) and missed this. For some reason, I thought it was tonight. <kicks self>
