So heres a fun little game I stumbled upon.

Rules are as follows:

1. The first article title on this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random) page is the name of your band.

2. The last four words of the very last quote on this (http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3) page is the title of your album.

3. Finally, the third picture here (http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/), no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

4. (Optional) Using the rule from #2 above, create a track list of 12 songs.


its funny how well this works out. Once you get your source materials, you can use photoshop or whatever image program you have to put the album cover together in whatever way you see fit.

That's pretty sweet NQ. I wish I was that good with photoediting. I've got CS2 but I pretty much fail at doing anything artsy with it. If I get time before I graduate, I want to take a photoshop class.

Cleveland State?

I was going to try to joke out there about another Cleveland area school, but I don't think I know any. Is Youngstown St. around there?

I recently upgraded my computer (now with Vista!), and in the process, I lost my old, trusty copy of Paint Shop Pro 6. Without the software or a job, I decided to experiment with GIMP. It has tons of filters and add-ons, but it definitely isn't as user-friendly as what I'm used to.

To test it out, I made some more album covers. The first one,

turned out okay. That fuzzy selection tool is very nice for special color effects, but something isn't quite right about the image, I think. So, I made another,

The flower was wider before, but the excellent Liquid Resize (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIFCV2spKtg) tool took care of that. But still, something seems off. I added a "sticker" to the third try,

I'm more a dilettante than I am experienced at graphic design, and I'm finding it hard to adjust to the complexity of this new program. I don't know why drawing a line or a circle has to be a five-part process :emo kid:
