Does anyone know anything about this year's Green Party? Its one of the few "third parties" that gets any legitimate talk, even though none of them ever stand a chance. I know Nadar hasn't officially put himself in as a candidate with them this year, but I've never heard anything about any of the other possible candidates, and I really don't know much about the party as a whole, other than it focuses on ecological ideals and pacifism/nonviolence.

Nadar said he is probably going to run now because Edwards is out and none of the other canidates would fight the government like Edwards would have.

Nader announced he was exploring the possibility of running before Edwards announced he was out. Most people even within Edwards own campaign had assumed he would stick around and see if he could collect enough delegates to play kingmaker, so it's doubtful Nader "knew" of Edwards decision to drop in advance. Gotta love opportunism.

IIRC, the narrow Republican margin that exists in the Michigan state Senate happened largely because of the Green Party.

Nadar could actually pull some votes, whereas the no-names that they also have as candidates (I'm sure they're decent candidates but I've never heard of any of them) probably wouldn't attract much attention.
