You know, Hulk Hogan is a lot like Metallica. You used to like him when you were younger, but now that you're older you find yourself asking why.

And today you know this guy as Kane. This was Vince McMahon's first attempt with him. The Fake Diesel was the second. Kane was the third.

And for the record Kane was meant to be a short-term storyline for the Undertaker. Congrats to Glenn Jacobs for making it last this long.

The guy "standing" is Big Poppa Pump for those that didn't know.

Don't get me started on Mr. Courtney Cox being Champ.

Yes, it's fake.
Yes, the belt is just a prop.

But no fucking way do you hand your most important title belt on a celeb or a writer (Russo and Vince McMahon both won the World Title during the boom period)

To say it de-values the belt is an understatment of EPIC proportions

Do they look mean? No

Do they look like they're from the street? No

Do they look like a Posse? No

And only 1 was actually a trained wrestler. The other 2 are legit Shane McMahon friends (the storyline was that these guys were his friends - reality + wrestling = gold? ummm no)

If he's not in the HOF, there's something seriously wrong with this picture. I still remember when he first fought Hogan. Nobody really gave him a chance. Nobody thought he'd even last 5 minutes. But you know the one person who didn't think that? Well, my friends, that was Earthquake himself. A true legend of the sport. I still miss him every day.

The whole Mr America thing was just stupid.

It was stupid when Dusty Rhodes did it as The Midnight Rider in the NWA, it was stupid when Brian Pillman did it as The Yellow Dog in WCW!

Lame ass shit!

Why even bother having a "Loser Leaves the Company" or "Lose and your Fired" match if you're not going to follow through with it?

IF you want to sell some masks and/or use this crap as a way to pass the time here's a better way:

Simply have the dude (in this case Hogan) start attacking people as "Mr. America".... then when Hogan is questioned on it have him deny it. You can do that for weeks, maybe even 2 months...

which gives you enough time to hire some idiot who could come "close" to looking like Hogan physically.

Then you have some heel call out "Mr America"... and out comes the masked idiot you hired! The heel would talk some shit about Hogan... only for Hogan to show up to confront the heel!

Hogan and the heel have a little brawl and during the brawl "Mr America" somehow gets in the way and cops a huge chair shot to the head/back/whatever and is "knocked out"

Hogan and the heel get seperated by security when suddenly the heel breaks free and BOOM! another chair shot to the masked idiot you hired for one night only...

This kills the masked wrestler angle and puts you straight into Hogan v Heel... with Hogan fighting the good fight for the "forced to retire due to head injuries" Mr America!

It works with any wrestler you wish... and is so simple I thought of it on the fly as usual

Why the fuck am I not making 6 figures writing this shit for a job?

Super Old Time:

Note: You will probably discover the meaning of life before you ever get a definitive NWA/WCW World Title lineage, but here goes nothing. To the best of my knowledge, this is the most complete NWA/WCW title lineage available. The NWA, and its predecessors have had disputes over their champion ever since pro wrestling started. The main reason for this is because back in the days of territories, different promoters would sometimes acknowledge different wrestlers as champions due to varying circumstances. The history of professional wrestling in North America is very interesting, and very confusing. It's kind of like a story told over many generations, it changes as time goes on. Although the National Wrestling Alliance was officially formed in 1948, it's lineage can be traced back all the way to the late 19th Century and such immortal wrestling iron men as William Muldoon, George Hackenschmidt and Frank Gotch among countless others. Some have speculated that it can be traced back even farther to American President, Abraham Lincoln, who in late 1831, beat the Louisiana State Champion in New Salem, Louisiana!

and he might have also invented the Chokeslam. So awesome.

Abraham Lincoln moved to New Salem, Illinois, in 1831. The Clary's Grove boys lived in a settlement near New Salem. They were a loud, reckless, frontier crowd who enjoyed fighting and drinking. They boasted they could wrestle better and hit harder than any other group throughout Illinois. At times they could also be generous and good-natured. Their leader was a man named Jack Armstrong. (The picture of Jack Armstrong is from the Lloyd Ostendorf collection.)
Denton Offutt, in whose store Lincoln was a clerk, bragged that his employee was mentally and physically superior to any of the Clary's Grove boys. He openly said Lincoln could whip any man in the community. Hearing of Offutt's boasting, Jack Armstrong challenged Lincoln to a wrestling match. Lincoln accepted.

The entire town turned out for the fight. Offutt bet $10 Lincoln would win. Other residents wagered money, drinks, even trinkets and knives. Lincoln was 6' 4" and weighed 185 pounds, but Jack Armstrong was an experienced, formidable opponent. Although he was smaller than Lincoln, he was as strong as an ox. The stage was set.

For a time, the two scufflers circled each other warily. They did some grappling and twisting, but neither man could throw the other to the ground. Slowly, Armstrong began to get the worst of it. Finally, Lincoln grabbed the bully by the neck, held him at arm's length, and shook him like a little boy. This aroused the Clary's Grove boys, and it suddenly appeared Lincoln might be attacked by an entire crowd of people. He backed up against the wall of Offutt's store and offered to take them on one at a time.
Jack Armstrong was impressed with Abraham Lincoln's display of courage. He came forward, took Lincoln's hand and shook it heartily. He looked at his friends and said, "Boys, Abe Lincoln is the best fellow that ever broke into this settlement. He shall be one of us." From then on, Abraham Lincoln and Jack Armstrong were the best of friends! Lincoln had a calming influence on the whole gang of Clary's Grove boys, and his charisma had the effect of repressing their violence. Jack and his wife, Hannah, even allowed Lincoln to stay in their home when he was periodically out of work.

Lincoln returned the favor in 1858. Duff Armstrong, son of Jack and Hannah, was accused of murder. Lincoln was the defense attorney, and the jury returned a not guilty verdict. After the trial (known in Beardstown as the famous "Almanac Trial"), when the topic of Lincoln's fee arose, he said, "Why, Hannah, I shan't charge you a cent - never. Anything I can do for you I will do willingly and without charges."
Many versions of Lincoln's wrestling match exist, only one of which is presented on this page. For example, in Honor's Voice: The Transformation of Abraham Lincoln by Douglas L. Wilson, a wrestling match eyewitness, Rowan Herndon, said that "after striving a long time without either man prevailing, Lincoln said: 'Jack, let's quit. I can't throw you - you can't throw me.' Armstrong agreed and the matter was ended in fun."

Harold von Schmidt painted the drawing of the wrestling match for Esquire in 1949.

It might be added that, although Lincoln's wrestling ability was excellent, he wasn't unbeatable. On April 22, 1832, Lincoln was thrown in two straight falls by Lorenzo Dow Thompson during a wrestling match in Beardstown, Illinois.

Heidenrich "raping" Cole... just what wrestling fans want to watch!

Apparently that was punishment because Cole's ego was getting out of control because he was becoming the voice of the WWE...

Obviously someone in creative was a Jim Ross fan (only Kevin Dunn isn't! and he's only part of creative due to his production role - though he's been Vince's best Yes man since 1985... look up Cornette impersonates Dunn on youtube for a good laugh) and thought it would be funny...

Vince agreed to the skit and such is life...

It might surprise you guys to learn that some of the dumbest shit you see on Raw is only done because it amuses Vince (and his yes men)... it's not done with careers in mind. While WWE is a multi-million dollar publicly traded company it's run like a college frat... those in power act like fuckheads whenever the mood strikes and those with no power at all have to do whatever the script says or you'll suffer the consequences...

The consequences for not agreeing to a dumb skit =

Not being booked on tv at all =

1) you only get paid your downside guarantee (could be $250k or less) and they'd put you on every "house" show (no tv) and book you to lose every match... so you still work 300 days of the year - just not on tv and you'd get beaten every night (which harms your chances of doing well outside the WWE)

2) You get made an example of on tv (MVP's losing streak) and they then drop the part where you're supposed to turn it all around (MVP's winning streak was dropped because... they pushed someone else!)

3) You get made an example of in the locker room in their "Wrestler's Court"... where Undertaker sits as Judge and another member of the locker room pleads the case against you.. you get to defend yourself but in the end it's up to Taker to decide if you deserve "punishment"

If Taker deems you worthy of punishment the job of "sentencing" you used to fall on JBL... and he would do some gay shit to people... like the Miz... JBL "tried" to shove a dildo up Miz's arse in the showers as punishment for not "respecting" the business... this was early in Miz's career when he was just a bum Reality TV guy...

There are a lot of punishments they might dish out... but it's all mostly stupid bullshit.. and the point is made that you are not bigger than the company or a real star... you do what you're told when you are told by "creative" because "creative" have Vince's blessing and Vince is GOD!

Quick comment for all you old time wrestling fans (I don't expect any posts in return but feel free to comment)

I'm willing to guess that the Attitude Era is your favourite time as a wrestling fan.... or the only time.

WCW v WWE, NWO, Austin v McMahon, Rock, DX, Foley, Goldberg... we're basically talking mid 1996 to the year 2000 (or a little earlier if you're a WCW fan)

If you followed the wrestling business then what you saw was heavily influenced by Paul Heyman and his ECW boys... but was taken to a whole new level with the NWO in WCW (Bischoff stole the idea from Japan) and then taken into the mainstream because Vince Russo and Shane McMahon forced Vince to change

Does it surprise any of you one time fans that:

A - Russo is regarded by many as a complete and utter creative void
B - Heyman is regarded by many as a genius despite his company going bunkrupt
C - Bischoff is regarded as a one trick pony (the NWO)
D - Shane McMahon is not involved in wrestling at all today
E - Vince McMahon and his WWE is now "corporate wrestling"... or so PC you have to be on PCP to enjoy it

He's now born again... but if you go back to the 90's he was an absolute cunt to deal with.

He was strung out of his mind on pain pills and likely cocaine... even back then he was best friends with Triple H, Nash and Hall... (and Sean Waltman)

He left the business for a long time (back injury)... then God healed him and he came back to become "Mr WrestleMania" :)

Seriously, if you google "best matches at WrestleMania" I'm guessing Shawn Michaels comes up a lot... and if someone made a list his name would be all over it!

Michaels v Razor Ramon in a ladder match
Michaels v Flair
Michaels v Taker
Michaels v Taker II
Michaels v Angle
Michaels v Hart 1+ hour Ironman
Michaels v HHH v he who shall not be named (Benoit)
Michaels v Jericho

Wouldn't be surprised if there are others... those are just the main ones... along with the match where he lost the title to Austin... but it was his last match for years (his back was fucked) so it's probably not on any list

I haven't watched a second of wrestling in over 6 months... the only stuff I've watched in the last year has involved Brock Lesnar and The Rock. I haven't even watched HHH v Undertaker from WrestleMania or Daniel Bryan v CM Punk

WWE needs a swift fucking kick because there are almost no surprises anymore (Brock was one, The Shield another), no long term stories for the mid card, no elevation for the mid card, no character motivation from what I can tell.

Why is Kofi Kingston always happy? What drives him (kayfabe POV)? What drives Randy Orton? What drives Cody Rhodes? Why do these guys wrestle? Why the fuck should I care about the mid card when I have no idea why the mid carders are even in the business?

Even a stupid excuse like "for the love of the game" would be better than the complete void we have now...

And while TNA is better at explaining what characters want they don't fucking plan things well either. Aces and Eights was supposed to be this great story arc, using a motorcycle "gang" as a way to avoid NWO/Horsemen comparisons... and it could have worked if they got some legit fucking talent to be in the group. But fuck no, we get Devon, Mike Knox and Luke Gallows as "talent"... Devon is past it, Gallows and Knox were essentially jobbers in the WWE...

meanwhile, guys like Josh Barnett and Karl Anderson wreck shop and kill kunts dead! Those 2 could have been Aces and Eights... not hard to hire some real talent is it?

The story writes itself: Jeff Jarrett got ousted from TNA by Hogan and Bischoff... dude has gone all around the world looking for guys that could get him his company back...

I feel really proud of a professional wrestling lineage, I feel pride in trying to re-connect those Amateur Wrestling roots to the combat aspects of wrestling, and also the history and the lineage of where Professional Wrestling came from. It's not fake, you know? I can't stand it when people go "Oh, but it's fake, right?" ... It's not fake! You can call it whatever you want, but don't say it's fake. I'm not joking out there, I'm not playing around, it's not a game to me. It's real, and I take it very seriously because I'm trying to show everything that we have as athletes out there in the ring, trying to show all the emotions and aspects that go into a fight and a struggle between two competitors.
... Pro Wrestlers used to be considered some of the toughest guys in the world back in the day. It didn't matter if they were out there working, their pedigree was otherwise, and anybody that wanted to step up to them learned the hard way. I remember hearing all the stories of the old school guys at New Japan, about when they used to take out ads in the newspaper saying Professional Wrestling Is The Strongest Of All Martial Arts, and Karate guys, Judo guys, you know, Aikido or whatever, would show up at their dojo and say "Hey, we don't believe in that, we think this is crap, we're going to come in and we're going to beat ya, and we're going to show you otherwise".
And Gotch would just -- or Inoki -- would say, "Hey, Osamu Kido, go wrestle that dude", and he'd just tear them apart. They never lost. They beat everybody up who showed up at their gym.

After having Devon, Gallows and Knox unmasked... and appearing to be useless motherfuckers out come the heavy hitters Anderson and Barnett... they're so fucking awesome they unmask themselves, declare war on TNA... and then proceed to run through the roster like Goldberg did in WCW.

Any dead weight TNA wants to dump could be fed to these 2... who would kill kunts dead in the ring... see ya later chumps! Any talent TNA wanted to send to OVW could be fed to these 2 dudes... and they would destroy them in swift, brutal fashion...

Eventually these 2 become World Champion and TV Champion (no IC or US title in TNA and only other belt is the X Division)... and Jarrett comes back to gloat... Jeff Hardy, Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Austin Aries all get destroyed by these 2 wrecking machines...

Long term options everywhere:

1) Barnett and Anderson don't wanna bow to Jarrett -"bow down to no man". They beat Jarrett up, who fights the good fight solo for a while before he gets ENDED in the ring by Anderson and Barnett....

From his hsopital bed Jarrett begs/pleads with Roode and Storm to re-unite Beer Money for the greater good... to save TNA...

now we've got Roode and Storm - who hate each other - working together for Jarrett, the "founder of TNA" who has been "forced to retire due to injury" fighting 2 badass motherfuckers who kill kunts dead in the ring, they injure dudes, they end careers, they kill kunts dead...

2) Jarrett with Anderson and Barnett doing his bidding unleash hell on TNA and all the good guys... wrecking shop for months... Hogan and Dixie Carter can't do anything cause it's all legal and happening in the ring... fuckers are falling by the wayside... top stars are suffering defeat after defeat....

so an open door policy is insituted in TNA... any wrestler can come and challenge Barnett and Anderson. Jarrett is so cocky and his boys are so fucking awesome they welcome the challenge...

now you have a mechanism in place to bring back stars for one night only, to introduce new legit talent (as opposed to the usual useless kunts)... aall while building Anderson and Barnett as THE dominant force in the business...

And when they get taken down it will be huge... it will create a new main event player... a top star...

This shit is so fucking easy... and all I did was hire 2 fucking talents! TNA should hire ONE talent...ME!

From what I've read and heard she was passed around like a pipe back in the day... when she looked hot as fuck! Her boyfriend at the time (Chris Candido RIP) and her were addicted to lots of shit and when they needed a fix he would send her as payment or she would do it on her own!

Biggest name that nailed her = Shawn Michaels! He apparently would share his cocaine with them... so he could fuck her!
