In your face, Ledezma.

Wilfredo Ledezma
01-24-2008, 05:03 PM
why do they feel the need to cross out 8:00 and input 7:00...

isn't the game on ESPN?

and fuck you Rashard, you may make more money than me, but at least I EARNED my $8 per hour...

Timone
01-24-2008, 05:04 PM
You don't earn your $8 hitting glassers to win games.

Get over it, bro.

Get over it, bro.

Even Stephon Marbury thinks Shard is overpaid...

Timone
01-24-2008, 05:09 PM
Bro, that's not relevent. Marbury can't hit a shot off the glass to win the fucking game.

Glenn

Hey, this is kind of an important game.

The Magic are the closest team to us in the EC standings, so a win/loss here is a 2 game swing.

There could be a big difference being in that #2 seed than the #3 seed.

MoTown

Okay the Magic finally got a win against US. That said, it's time to rape Rashard and burn Disney World. WE need to come out and win this game by 60. Time to send a message. You caught US when we were napping, but this time, we're going to murder you. WE'RE going to rip off your fucking limbs and and feed them to JMax. And WE'LL make you and your limbless bodies sit there and watch Max pick at your legs like a chicken bone. While this is going on, the real Ron Jeremy is going to have the option of impaling your coach. If he spares Mr. Van Gundy, it's only because he is merciful.

[/louholtzpregamepeptalk.]

I hope they put that one on ESPN.

Timone

That's a Larry Brown pep talk right there.

...now will you come back, Kstat?

I've had a great day of posting.

I just hope everyone on the Pistons reads this and decides to play with energy!

Because my posting career matters.

Are we so good they are forcing us to play short handed (like youth soccer leagues do)?

Stuckey is -3 while on the floor thus far, so he's actually been a liability in this game.

In blowout games like this they need to be using guys like Brezec and Herrmann along with Amir, but when using those guys integrate them in one or two at a tiem with some starters. They suck when they play as a unit (Herm, Brez, Stuck, AA and Amir) but when they get a chance to run with a few starters they might not be so horrible.

DrRay11
01-25-2008, 08:52 PM
And of course we suck now so the starters will need to play most of the fourth.

DrRay11
01-25-2008, 09:09 PM
Terrible rotations. As a result, Rip has played about the entire second half, Amir hasn't gotten in, etc. Stupid.

DrRay11

Wilfredo Ledezma

Pistons provide quick response

Chris McCosky / The Detroit News

AUBURN HILLS -- It wasn't the breezy, feel-good win the Pistons might have hoped for, but they managed to send a pretty resounding message to the Orlando Magic just the same.

The Pistons rode a season-best, 68-point first half to a 101-93 victory Friday, avenging their 102-100 loss in Orlando on Monday.

"We had a good day off (on Thursday) and we came in fresh and ready to go," Chauncey Billups said. "We were looking forward to this game after losing down there the other day."

Richard Hamilton led the way with 32 points, hitting 14 of 22 shots, and eight assists.

"It was tough how we lost down there and we just wanted to come out and be aggressive," said Hamilton, who bested defenders Maurice Evans and Keith Bogans. "I wanted to be aggressive playing against Mo. He was talking a lot of trash last night when he came over to my house. I told him I was going after him today."

Billups added 21 points and six assists. Rasheed Wallace had 15 points and Antonio McDyess added 10 points and 13 rebounds.

"Everything we did in that first half, we did well," coach Flip Saunders said. "We executed on defense and offense and we set the tone for the game."

The Magic had to know they might be in for a long night when Dwight Howard tipped a missed shot into the Pistons basket on the second possession. The two points were credited to Wallace (he was the closest to it). Wallace went on to hit all six of his shots in the first quarter, good for 13 points. He also had two steals and a block and the Pistons were off and running.

When the first quarter ended, with a Billups' 3-pointer, the Pistons had made 17 of 22 shots, turned five turnovers into 11 points, held the Magic to three rebounds and built a 39-18 lead.

"We just slowed down our offense," Billups said. "They want to shoot all those 3-pointers so we wanted to slow it down and punish them in the paint."

Billups said the Pistons ran one play the entire first half.

"It was a play for Rasheed," he said. "We were running Rip off the curl and he was supposed to drop it to 'Sheed. But they couldn't stop Rip so we just said, 'Let's keep riding him.' "

Hamilton scored 13 straight in one stretch of the second quarter.

Saunders went to his bench in the second quarter, deploying a lineup of Amir Johnson, Arron Afflalo, Rodney Stuckey, Jason Maxiell and Jarvis Hayes. That group, with Johnson blocking three shots, limited the Magic to two field goals and extended the lead to 27, 53-26.

"The biggest disappointment was not being able to get Amir back in the game in the second half," Saunders said. "We wanted to keep 'Sheed on the floor (in the second half) and to not give Amir an opportunity to follow up on his performance was the most disappointing thing."

Johnson had three blocks and four rebounds in nine minutes.

The second half was miserable. After scoring 39 in the first quarter, the Pistons managed just 33 in the second half. After shooting 57 percent in the first half, they shot 40 in the second.

"Good teams, when they've been down so far and so long, they are going to play hard and fight back," Billups said. "They cut into the lead but it was never threatening."

............. he's the one who decides who goes in. If he wants to give Amir an opportunity in the 2nd half he just says "hey amir, go in". Chances are, he simply forgot about amir :-P

Does anybody think that this was Rip's best game as a Piston?

no

Game 7 vs. Miami, IMO.

32 pts
8 reb
8 asst
2 stl
14-22 FG
2-3 3FG

He was coming off those curls and hitting what seemed like everything.

What were his stats in that Miami game?

Timone
01-26-2008, 09:56 AM
22 points, 3 assists, 7 rebounds.

Rip's clutch shooting helped us overcome a 6 point deficit late.

Also, he had a 39 point game this year and that 50 pointer @ NY.

Timone
01-26-2008, 10:02 AM
Bah, my bad...Rip was good, but not great in the Miami game.

Best "all around" game?

Sometimes, as a player, you get into what I like to call "the zone". It's kind of like a place where you feel like you can't miss anything, you are in another world, like Jupiter or the moon.

Maybe. When I think of best games I like to think of playoff games.

This one was up there.

The opposing SG was MoEvans.

All-Star SGs -should- have good games against opposing backup SGs.

The only reason the Pistons won this game is because of Lou Holtz's pep talk.

Oh and Stuckey's performance was key as well.
