I can see the Pistons mailbag if this is a loss: "Hey Keith, can't we trade for Dirk?"

Peggy (Walled Lake) - Dear Keith, what time is the game tonight?

Wil Ledezma: Keith, do you think there's a chance Chris Webber could play tonight?

Anonymous (WTFDetroit) - Dear Keith, do you think we could bring Stackhouse back to the pistons for Rip and a couple 2nd round picks? With Stuckey starting at the 2 and Stack coming off the bench I could start picking out my spot on the parade route now."

Zekyl
01-09-2008, 02:37 PM
Keith, I traded Tay, Sheed, and a 2nd rounder for Dirk and Diop in NBA2k8. Should the Pistons make this move?

Big Swami

James (Seoul, South Korea): I have three questions. First, what would it take for Lebron James to be interested in playing for the Pistons? Second, what is a double-dribble? Third, how do you provide an algebraic proof for a trigonometric identity without using another trigonometric identity? I eagerly await your response.

MoTown
01-09-2008, 03:42 PM
Holy cow this is turning into the best thread of 2008. I want to play:

Barb (Bridgeport): I recently attended the Mavericks game and my husband said that the reason the Mavericks are good is because they have a bunch of white players on their team, but they can't win the championship because their coach is black. 2 part question: Will the Pistons win the championship because they have a white coach? And is my husband a flaming racist?

Matt

Back on the horse after a loss. Let's kick some ass tonight.

Zekyl
01-09-2008, 05:02 PM
I would love to see Evil Keith respond to all of these questions. Oh, and Barb, the Pistons will not win because they only have two white players and they rarely play.

I also think "our" guys will rack up some techs, too.

Glenn

Also, as much as I don't like to admit it, it's pretty clear that Josh Howard was justified with his disbelief that he was making less $ than Tayshaun.

Also II, I'd like to change my vote.

I voted "Maxiell eats Avery by mistake."

i like the Herrmannator's tenacity. credit FlipS for keeping him in there while he was making positive contributions.

nice finish going into the half, but i'm really not liking Chauncey's penchant for shooting the ball so much without moving the ball around. i wish FlipS would have kept Stuckey in a little longer.

we dont rotate our bench at the rate of dallas. none of their starters are petty enough to care about how many minutes they get. We rotate our bench at that rate and the starters outside of sheed and Dyess would pitch a fit.

01-09-2008, 10:55 PM
yup. the starters were lagging and missing shots and we left them in there for the first 8 1/2 minutes. WTF is that about?

flip doesn't seem to understand that if rip is chucking it up and misses a few in a row, it's time to sit him!!!!!!!! especially when we've got more energy and the ability to drive to the hoop sitting on the bench. (stuckey)

hermman should've been in as should stuckey.

sheed and prince should have sat this one out. they are totally out of it and seem to just be going through the motions. i love tay and i rarely criticise him because of what he can do for us. but against a team like this, if he's going to just disappear on offense, i'd rather hayes or hermann in there. tay is killing us. no hustle, no agressiveness, nothing.

sheed makes back to back boneheaded plays. dirk is red hot and sheed leaves him, he isn't within 5 feet of him, on back to back posessions. so of course dirk hits back to back 3's and drives the lead up out of reach.

we had a few days off, and THIS is the best energy level we can get from our starters playing on national TV against a good team? ridiculous.

i don't care if they're allstars or not, billups and especially rip should've sat a lot earlier in this one when they were struggling so bad.

we look pathetic out there right now and are in danger of a 3 game losing streak heading into san antonio tomorrow.

I still say we started going in a funk in the Toronto game, into the Celt game and tonight too.

A team goes through stretches where you can't lose a game if you try and you can't win one no matter what you do. Sparky..."You are going to win 50 games and lose 50 games every year, it's what you do with the other 60 that count"

Keep your eye on the prize.

not terribly concerned about tonight. The defense was there, for the most part. Dallas just had one of those games where they were hitting a million threes, contested or not.

THat, and our offense was putrid. But the defense was there, so I'm not horrified.

I can't see how you saw the defense as there from the starters. They weren't physical and i saw atleast five 3 pointers that were the result of guys not putting any real effort making a recovery. Outside of Herrmann we defended Dirk horribly.

The offense was putrid because we can't run with Dallas or any other running team for that matter unless we get stops.

Keith, do you think we could package Amir, Dyess and our two seconds for this Dirk guy. I haven't heard much about him but he's pretty big and he looked like he would be really great coming off the bench for us. Plus, we need a few more white guys. Look how good that white guy with the pony tail did last night. I guarantee we'd win if we had a team full of white guys with long hair.

I agree, I'm not going to put much stock into the game either. Nobody can beat Dallas when they shoot 72% from downtown so I'm not surprised they lost.

McDyess and Tayshaun need to get out of their slumps soon...it seems like they are becoming liabilites out there when their shots aren't falling.

Maybe they could use a game or two of rest??? McDyess more so than Prince...

Hopefully we can hang w/ the Spurs tonight, they're probably better than Dallas, but I doubt SA shoots 72% from 3 and 56% overall...hopefully our luck will change and we can go into the weekend on a high note...

My favorite part of the game was when they interviewed Flip Saunders at half time. When posed with the question about his team's lack of ability to defend anyone he quickly responded that the pistons were getting good shots on offense.

I'm not sure he understands what the word defense actually means.

Also, Barry stated that Flip's strategy to turn around the defense for the second half was to feed the ball Rasheed to try and make Dirk work on defense.

To him offense solves everything. No wonder Rasheed is starting to alienate himself from the coach once again this year.
