View Full Version : OGT: LSU vs. Ohio State (National Championship, 1/7/08, 8PM, FOX)
Timone 01-06-2008, 11:25 PM I don't think many people here give a rat's ass, but it deserves its own thread anyway, no?
17-14 LSU.
I don't want to see Ohio State win because of the "Big Ten is too slow" shit because, well, MICHIGAN BEAT FLORIDA!!!!!
Tahoe 01-06-2008, 11:39 PM Yes, it deserves its own thread.
I don't want OSU to win cuz they suck as people.
Wilfredo Ledezma 01-07-2008, 10:55 AM LSU 38
Ohio St 17
MoTown 01-07-2008, 11:23 AM This is a lose/lose for me.
If OSU wins then we have to listen to all the OSU fans for years about how great Tressell is. And dear God I hate OSU fans.
If LSU wins then we get to listen to how superior the SEC is to every other conference.
Does anyone think if Tressell gets blown out, he will lose a tiny bit of credibility as a big game coach? The only National Championship that he has was given to him by an awful call. And we all remember how last year went.
Tahoe 01-07-2008, 11:25 AM I don't like Miles anymore either. A win for me would be if it goes down as the shitiest game in history.
Artermis 01-07-2008, 12:04 PM I would prefer LSU wins, but OSU at least keeps it close.
Glenn 01-07-2008, 12:28 PM Les Miles is a Michigan Man.
Go LSU.
Wilfredo Ledezma 01-07-2008, 12:50 PM I don't care who wins to be honest. The whole SEC speed thing is blown way out of proportion anyway. If OSU is going to win, they have to do what Michigan did to Florida, attack the QB (which OSU is more than capable of doing), and throw different looks at their defense...
Ohio State can win this game, but I just don't think they will.
OSU didn't impress me much this year. They didn't exactly "dominate" Michigan, they lost a big game Vs. Illinois when a TON was on the line. And they really only got to the NC game due to luck.
LSU has way more talent on both sides of the ball, they are a faster team (cliche' but true), and I think Todd Boeckman will make some mistakes that will cost OSU the game...
Zip Goshboots 01-07-2008, 12:53 PM I don't give a fuck about SEC Vs Big Ten anymore, because UM will win the next 12 national championships. Pryor is going to OSU anyway, so they'll be great for the next three or four years (But they'll be Rich Rod's BITCH also, and then they'll whip the other SEC teams in the Cap 1 Bowl).
BUT, this is the kind of game Jim Tressel: BadAss wins. LSU has nothing to surprise him with, as Les emptied out the trick bag and the fourth down plays just to get here.
OSU's defense matches up well against this team. Early Ducette is still hurt, I believe. JEsse Hester? He's no Blake Ezor. Matt Flynn is hurting, and Perilloux is just a little frosh.
This is a team that Jim Tressel: BadAss can prepare for, and I think the Buckeyes win it 33-24.
Wilfredo Ledezma 01-07-2008, 12:57 PM Is Jim Tressel really that good of a coach??
If he loses today, you have to question how great he really is...
Tonight will speak volume on how "great" he really is...
Most of those players that won it all in '02, were not even his recruits...
Glenn 01-07-2008, 12:57 PM I like LSU big.
I think OSU is a fraud this year.
Wilfredo Ledezma 01-07-2008, 02:14 PM Next year, Ohio State goes to USC in the regular season. So somebody may see their Nat'l Title bid take a hit right out of the gate...
Timone 01-07-2008, 02:15 PM They're playing again in 2009 too.
Wizzle 01-07-2008, 02:26 PM MYTHICAL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!
Is there any doubt that USC or Georgia could beat either of these teams?
This system is as logical as the Jet.
Zip Goshboots 01-07-2008, 02:31 PM HEY!
USC lost to Stanford and Oregon. How'd THEY end up?
Georgia lost to (whomever they lost to), and didn't win their division of the SEC. FUCK THEM!
Georgia looked great playing a Hawaii team that had NO business being there, and then forgot to show up. USC rolled Illinois, but that's just how the system plays out.
A couple years ago, USC BENEFITTED from this "system" when the AP voted them the NC even though LSU won the BCS game.
Nobody can complain here. Least of all the two teams who had it within their grasp and couldn't close the deal.
Timone 01-07-2008, 02:37 PM I'm probably not going to watch this game.
ROGER CLEMENS ISN'T IN IT!!
Wizzle 01-07-2008, 02:42 PM okay Zip.....you're right, this system works great
and now you're this guy

Tahoe 01-07-2008, 06:32 PM Les Miles is a Michigan Man.
Go LSU.
He turned his back on us, fuck em.
Timone 01-07-2008, 06:33 PM This game is going to be boring.
Tahoe 01-07-2008, 06:39 PM This game will be the antithesis of the UofM whoopin Florida's ass game.
Timone 01-07-2008, 08:14 PM I hope I'm wrong and this game can be half as good as Michigan-Florida.
I have nothing else to watch.
And listening to Les Miles talk cracks me up. Something about his voice and his facial expressions.
Timone 01-07-2008, 08:25 PM Beanie Wells is good.
They scored first last year though.
Timone 01-07-2008, 08:32 PM Crappy start for LSU.
Tahoe 01-07-2008, 08:35 PM LSU looks like a joke out there.
Timone 01-07-2008, 08:36 PM That Big Ten speed is exposing them.
Timone 01-07-2008, 08:48 PM Well hey, now that LSU is able to move the ball, this has the potential to be a good game.
Tahoe 01-07-2008, 08:53 PM I said I didn't care who won, but once the game starts, its like GO LSU!
Timone 01-07-2008, 08:54 PM Vernon Gholston, a name all too familiar.
Tahoe 01-07-2008, 08:59 PM Man that was offensive interference if there ever was off Int
Timone 01-07-2008, 09:09 PM About to be a tie game bitches!!
Tahoe 01-07-2008, 09:10 PM Houston we have ourselves a game.
Timone 01-07-2008, 09:11 PM My 17-14 prediction doesn't look so good.
Thank Rod.
Timone 01-07-2008, 09:14 PM Beanie is a roddamn beast.
Tahoe 01-07-2008, 09:18 PM They waved off that TD... looked like Robie had it from the other angle. Good call though.
Timone 01-07-2008, 09:21 PM I smell a fake.
Tahoe 01-07-2008, 09:21 PM Oh LSU Apple St'ed them.
Timone 01-07-2008, 09:22 PM I share the last name of a Confederate general from Louisiana.
Geaux Tigers!
Timone 01-07-2008, 09:35 PM Oh man, this one might get ugly.
Tahoe 01-07-2008, 09:37 PM What the helllllllllllllllll happened? I left for a phone call, it was 10-10
Tahoe 01-07-2008, 09:38 PM bah bah bah bah bah, I'm lovin it!
Timone 01-07-2008, 09:41 PM 24 unanswered.
Tahoe 01-07-2008, 09:49 PM I think Tressels wife does him with a dildo
Jethro34 01-07-2008, 10:00 PM You mean with a bukdow?
Tahoe 01-07-2008, 10:01 PM fiksed
MoTown 01-07-2008, 10:02 PM Anyone feel like they're watching a replay of last year?
Fuck OSU.
Timone 01-07-2008, 10:04 PM If they go on to talk about the SEC and Pac 10 owning the Big Ten, can they at least add an "except Michigan" at the end?
:p
Tahoe 01-07-2008, 10:08 PM Watching this band I was thinking...never in a million years, but my boy did it all throuh HS and they had a blast and plenty of haaaaaaaawties too....according to him.
Tahoe 01-07-2008, 10:23 PM OSU is lucky we were hurt that last game or we'd have spanked them.
homertalk
Timone 01-07-2008, 10:32 PM LOL @ Ohio State.
3rd and 23, roughing the kicker, 1st down LSU.
Timone 01-07-2008, 10:33 PM Buckeyes are totally losing their cool.
Tahoe 01-07-2008, 10:35 PM Fuck a buckeye!
Zip Goshboots 01-07-2008, 10:41 PM Wizzle: I'm quite sure that John Saunders is much more successful in life and business than you.
AND: Have we had enough of Ohio State in the BCS game yet?
I think it's time for the Rich Rod Revolution!
Tahoe 01-07-2008, 10:42 PM Weenie Wells hasn't done much lately
Tahoe 01-07-2008, 10:44 PM Thats a swarming pass rush by LSU
Timone 01-07-2008, 11:03 PM Oh noes, OSU may not be done yet.
Tahoe 01-07-2008, 11:12 PM Let the buckeye fans get their hopes up again, so they can be smashed again
Tahoe 01-07-2008, 11:14 PM OHHHHHHHHHHH SHIT what a play! The QB got douched
Timone 01-07-2008, 11:17 PM Ok, I think you can declare this one over.
Tahoe 01-07-2008, 11:19 PM That was one of the coolest hits I've seen in a while. He decleated that bitch.
Zip Goshboots 01-08-2008, 12:00 AM Very subdued, very anticlimatic reaction from Les Miles.
Deep down, I think we all know that he'd like to be in Ann Arbor more than anything else right now. It's got to be bittersweet, his team won it's big game, WVU lost its big game, and now he'll never get the job he always really wanted.
Not a bad consolation, though.
Jethro34 01-08-2008, 06:53 AM By saying WVU lost its big game, you're referring to the Pitt game? Surely not the bowl game.
Eluding that had LSU lost the SEC championship game and/or WVU beaten Pitt, Les would be in AA and RR would be hoisting a trophy, right?
Glenn 01-08-2008, 09:47 AM That was one of the coolest hits I've seen in a while. He decleated that bitch.
Newthreadworthy?

Do the math! Even RR said on an interview at the Cap 1 Bolw that if WVU had beaten Pitt, he might not have gotten the call and might not have responded.
Had Tennessee lost to LSU, possibly Miles is in A2.
Though I do have an insider buddy who has insisted from the get go that this coaching search would be about total culture change, and that Miles only had about a 50/50 chance of getting the job anyway. Long story, Jeth, PM me if you want to hear more.
Glenn 01-08-2008, 10:57 AM Tressel's Rod-like image took a big hit last night IMO.
Best defense in the country? How's 38 points against?
Team discipline? How's 5 personal fouls?
Bowl success? How's your record vs. the SEC in bowl games, OSU, 0-8 or 0-9?
I'll cut him a little slack since I don't think he had a top 2 team in the first place, but he looked like a boob last night, IMO.
It was even more fun to watch his boobness in HD, btw.
MoTown 01-08-2008, 11:09 AM Exactly what I've been saying. His only NC was given to him. He should technically be 0-3 in NC games.
OSU is turning into the college version of the Buffalo Bills.
b-diddy 01-08-2008, 11:20 AM OSU was unrodly overmatched last night. not to pull a doc tre, but it was fun to watch them get bukdowed (even though it wasnt my team that did it).
Zip Goshboots 01-08-2008, 11:21 AM I don't think Jim Tressel is a Bad Ass anymore, and I just emailed him to tell him that.
Thank Rod we have Rod.
Wilfredo Ledezma 01-08-2008, 11:27 AM Everytime they put the camera on Brian Hartline after a play, he kept twitching as if he had tourets.
I'll have to look into that.
WTFchris 01-08-2008, 12:51 PM Exactly what I've been saying. His only NC was given to him. He should technically be 0-3 in NC games.
OSU is turning into the college version of the Buffalo Bills.
Wasn't the NC with an illegal player anyway (Clarett)?
Timone 01-08-2008, 12:58 PM That Jay Crawford guy on "First Take" is an OSU fan (went to Bowling Green too...bootlick) and is talking about how he wishes there could be a pill he could take so he wouldn't care about his teams anymore.
Truthfully I feel the same way at times.
BUT WTF IS HE BITCHING FOR? OHIO TEAMS OWN MICHIGAN TEAMS.
Glenn 01-08-2008, 12:59 PM You must have not received the memo about Michigan beating Florida.
All is well again.
Timone 01-08-2008, 01:02 PM WTFDetroit: Where Glenn to the rescue happens.
Tahoe 01-08-2008, 01:29 PM WE NEED A PLAYOFF SYSTEM IN NCAA FOOTBALL!
I'd put Michigan up against anybody at the end of the year once we were healthy.
Regardless of UofM, with the first 2 loss team winning the NC is another reason to have one.
Glenn 01-08-2008, 01:30 PM "we" lol
WTFchris 01-08-2008, 01:56 PM How can a team that didn't win it's division or conference (Georgia) get first place votes?
Wilfredo Ledezma 01-08-2008, 03:47 PM That Jay Crawford guy on "First Take" is an OSU fan (went to Bowling Green too...bootlick) and is talking about how he wishes there could be a pill he could take so he wouldn't care about his teams anymore.
Truthfully I feel the same way at times.
BUT WTF IS HE BITCHING FOR? OHIO TEAMS OWN MICHIGAN TEAMS.
That guy's also an Indians fan, I remember back when the show was called "Cold Pizza" they did a show at Jacobs Field, and tried to "reverse the curse" of Cleveland sports...
That was at least 4 years ago, and it still hasn't worked...
Tahoe 01-09-2008, 02:05 AM Georgia Prez proposed 8 team playoff to determine NCAA football champ. Wow, what a concept?
http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/7651554
b-diddy 01-09-2008, 09:00 AM "we" lol
after michigan got healthy, im pretty sure i could have beat any team for the national championship.

For love of game: Ohio State juniors decide as one
Chance to return as seniors and play a final year with teammates trumps opportunity to be selected in NFL draft

By Ken Gordon
THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
This could become the most famous shower scene since Psycho.
In the moments after Ohio State lost to Louisiana State in the national championship game, a number of OSU juniors who were considering leaving school a year early found themselves in the locker room shower together.
Then and there, they decided as a group to return.
Timone 01-18-2008, 10:53 AM Were they crying like Rip and Webber?
