Primoz Brezec 01-04-2008, 01:11 PM I win.
Big Swami 01-04-2008, 01:23 PM Please edit the poll to include the option "Brezec goes crashing into the stands after a loose ball at some point."
Timone 01-04-2008, 01:24 PM Unfortunately I can't. Maybe Glenn can do it when he decides to do his job.
Wilfredo Ledezma 01-04-2008, 01:25 PM Unfortunately I can't. Maybe Glenn can do it when he decides to do his job.
He's still on lunch?
Big Swami 01-04-2008, 01:33 PM Glenn's goldbricking. Just sitting on his ass, collecting a sweet paycheck.
Glenn 01-04-2008, 03:42 PM I'm really hoping that Stephen A. is in the studio
HOWEVA
I see the streak ending tonight.
I can see us getting Jose Calderowned.
Timone 01-04-2008, 03:43 PM Pistons have dropped like 4 of the last 6 in Toronto haven't they?
I don't remember the last time they won there.
Zekyl 01-04-2008, 04:51 PM Loved the opening pics Karl. Way to prove, once a douche bag, always a douche bag. I have a friend that got to meet him once and the only description he would give was "douchebag wears way too much cologne!"
Timone 01-04-2008, 04:51 PM Are you calling me a douchebag?
Zekyl 01-04-2008, 04:54 PM Not unless you're Carlos Delfino.
Timone 01-04-2008, 07:05 PM Why isn't Mark Jones (guy in the studio with Stephen A and Walton) calling the game? He's the best announcer ESPN has IMO.
Timone 01-04-2008, 07:14 PM lol @ "Andrea" Bargnani. That is seriously a terrible name for a dude.
Timone 01-04-2008, 07:20 PM Sam Mitchell's gotta be gay.
Timone 01-04-2008, 07:43 PM Delfino came in and "we" are going right at him.
Glenn 01-04-2008, 08:00 PM Who's this little blonde?
Tahoe 01-04-2008, 08:00 PM Looks like our interior D is failing us again.
Glenn 01-04-2008, 08:03 PM Who's this little blonde?
http://www.farrockaway.com/lenny.jpg
Timone 01-04-2008, 08:03 PM "J"arvis Hayes is a bad, bad man.
Imagine if "we" had Tony Delk!
DrRay11 01-04-2008, 08:04 PM Jarvis with the long gun!
Timone 01-04-2008, 08:05 PM Sam Mitchell is one of those guys you look at and can't help but feel sorry for just because he seems like he's such a good guy, but you know nobody respects him.
Timone 01-04-2008, 08:12 PM Brezec is IN, baby.
Wilfredo Ledezma 01-04-2008, 08:13 PM Brezec is IN, baby.
This is his first 1st half action as a Piston...
Glenn 01-04-2008, 08:14 PM THERE SHE IS AGAIN!!
She might be a lesbian, actually.
Former hoop player?
Timone 01-04-2008, 08:14 PM Stacey Dales?
Glenn 01-04-2008, 08:15 PM Her voice sounded kind of "rough".
Maybe she used to be Dale Stacy?
Timone 01-04-2008, 08:15 PM Maybe Dale Davis.
Glenn 01-04-2008, 08:17 PM Impressions at the half?
(Kinda hard to do impressions online, though)
Glenn 01-04-2008, 08:19 PM Toronto only has 1 turnover.
Delfino, 12 mins, 0 pts.
Bosh with 10 & 8
FUCK THIS, STEPHEN A. IS ON
Timone 01-04-2008, 08:20 PM The first half lasted only slightly more than an hour. Good stuff.
DrRay11 01-04-2008, 08:21 PM Fuck a Vargnani.
Timone 01-04-2008, 08:23 PM Stephen A. is loving him some Pistons.
Glenn 01-04-2008, 08:23 PM C. Delfino misses a layup
Tahoe 01-04-2008, 08:23 PM Win or lose, I'm looking forward to tomorrow nights game.
Timone 01-04-2008, 08:25 PM Glenn, I think Delfino has taken (and missed) only 1 shot. He fucked up a nice no look pass from Bargnani by clanking a corner 3.
THE MISSED LAYUP WILL HAPPEN THOUGH DAMNIT!
Glenn 01-04-2008, 08:27 PM Delfino is 0/3, I took that right from the play by play
Timone 01-04-2008, 08:29 PM Of those 3 misses, were any of them a reverse layup? Or a layup period?
Glenn 01-04-2008, 08:30 PM I don't actually watch basketball.
Wilfredo Ledezma 01-04-2008, 08:32 PM I like Sam Mitchell, he's a pretty good dresser, rockin the pinstripes and has the sideburns goin as well...
If Flip Saunders gets pink slipped anytime soon, I hope he is on Joe Dumars' shortlist of replacements...
Timone 01-04-2008, 08:32 PM No. He's gay.
Tahoe 01-04-2008, 08:36 PM Rasheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed Wallace!
DrRay11 01-04-2008, 08:39 PM <<Expected "Not that there's anything wrong with that." in white text
Black Dynamite 01-04-2008, 08:39 PM No. He's gay.
seconded.
Sam Mitchell is all heart, weak gameplan.
Timone 01-04-2008, 08:41 PM <<Expected "Not that there's anything wrong with that." in white text
Well, you know how you have some moms and some dads who would rather be your friend than be your parent? Sam Mitchell strikes me as that kind of guy, who'd rather hang out with you, get you hammered, then try to fuck you in the ass instead of coach you.
Timone 01-04-2008, 08:42 PM Seriously, he's got the gay Shaft thing going on.
DrRay11 01-04-2008, 08:44 PM lollers.
micknugget 01-04-2008, 08:46 PM The Pistons starters look really bored. A lot of times they are walking up and down the court, aren't even trying for offensive rebounds (except for Dice) and are just playing lazy. Toronto is making their run.
Wilfredo Ledezma 01-04-2008, 08:47 PM Dice trys to get offensive rebounds, but never seems to get them...
dang, 5 pt game
Wilfredo Ledezma 01-04-2008, 08:47 PM These are the types of 3rd Quarters we had last year...now the starters are going to have to play it out in the 4th...
sorry Walter, no minutes for you :(
Timone 01-04-2008, 08:48 PM not that I know those type of guys
Black Dynamite 01-04-2008, 08:48 PM no one in the chat?
DrRay11 01-04-2008, 08:49 PM Yeah, "we" had them down big, on the ground, and didn't put "our" feet on their throats. Instead, "we" started loafing like last year's Pistons. Time to bring in the bench.
Wilfredo Ledezma 01-04-2008, 08:51 PM starters playing too much...
Black Dynamite 01-04-2008, 09:03 PM e-ray chat?
Kstat 01-04-2008, 09:09 PM I love Rodney Stuckey.
Jethro34 01-04-2008, 09:12 PM The dish to Tay, the steal, the score. Beautiful energy from Stuck to start the 4th. This kid has talent.
Now if he could foul a tad less and quit getting shots blocked, he'll be fine.
Someone mentioned that since he's compared to Wade, once refs start to find out who he is - those blocked shots will become free throws just like Wade.
Black Dynamite 01-04-2008, 09:21 PM Someone mentioned that since he's compared to Wade, once refs start to find out who he is - those blocked shots will become free throws just like Wade.
He has to lean side ways so he falls down everytime.
b-diddy 01-04-2008, 09:25 PM id let the bench grind out the end of the game. good experience for them, plus i dont want the starters playing 40 minutes on the front end of a back2back, especially when the tail end is what peole are excited about.
b-diddy 01-04-2008, 09:32 PM RH 9-11 for 22 pts. how awesome is that. only an idiot would trade that guy.
b-diddy 01-04-2008, 09:34 PM i like the 'get out of here' from sheed after the 3's.
DrRay11 01-04-2008, 09:34 PM Lol, we still win by 16.
Kstat 01-04-2008, 09:34 PM That was an ass-beating of a 4th quarter.
Timone 01-04-2008, 09:35 PM Cool game.
Black Dynamite 01-04-2008, 09:35 PM they made us play the starters a lil more. but we still got a lift from stuckey and maxiell(jarvis in the first half).
Timone 01-04-2008, 09:37 PM RH 9-11 for 22 pts. how awesome is that. only an idiot would trade that guy.
When I think of Rip I can't help but think of all those big shots he made in game 7 of the ECF vs. Miami in '05. Therefore, it'd be hard for me to not stick by him.
Jethro34 01-04-2008, 09:53 PM The fact that Toronto pushed us and we STILL kept our starters all under 40 minutes is nice. Realistically, Flip could have put the bench in the last 3 minutes, and I'm not sure why he didn't. I hope the starters are still fresh enough for tomorrow's game. It really isn't that rough whether we win or lose, but given the choice I would rather win.
metr0man 01-04-2008, 09:53 PM the field goal percentage he's shooting is phenomenal. Obviously it WILL level off, jump shooters always do, but I'll feel very good if he can average almost 50% for the whole season. He's gonna get his 20 points regardless, we need efficiency and execution.
Looks like the Celts won by a similar margin of victory. Bring on the real showdown.
Higherwarrior 01-04-2008, 10:30 PM i wish he had played the bench a few minutes more and rip, billups, and dice a few minutes left.
but watching the game....our guys never were threatened really. they hardly broke a sweat in those minutes, with the way we cooly and calmly controlled the tempo.
BTW- when he finally gets in top shape and starts to learn from his rookie mistakes (leaving his feet on D and when trying to create for others) stuckey is going to be one hell of a player. seriously.
i don't see how anyone can criticise or have doubts about this kid. YES, he still has lessons to learn for sure. but overall he has great talent and a great court awareness.
he made 3 or 4 assists tonight that most starting nba PGs won't make. they won't make the highlight reel for being 'flashy' but they were very smart, savy passes that set up nice buckets for his teammates. he's very unselfish and knows how to make the game easier for those around him. that is not something that can be taught- you either have it or you don't. plus he's very solid defensively, although he needs to control his agressiveness at times.
i'm thrilled with this kid and hope by season's end he's getting 25-30 minutes a night. he can be a difference maker for us even as a rook.
Jethro34 01-04-2008, 10:42 PM The thing about him is that he is absolutely perfect for this team. It's a difficult task trying to find someone that can handle having talent while getting limited minutes to use it. It requires looking for someone with a completely different mindset. In guys like Max, Afflalo and Stuckey, they have found it. I don't expect those guys to be content coming off the bench forever, but it is nice that they seem humble enough to make the most of that role for now.
Tahoe 01-05-2008, 12:03 AM I'm happy with the win whether its by 1 or 30. This was a game we could have lost by looking ahead to Boston.
We won a tough one to get up for.
Zekyl 01-05-2008, 10:26 AM CARLOS DELFINO MISSED LAYUP!!!! As soon as that happened I just started laughing out loud, in a very loud manner. What a douche.
Timone 01-05-2008, 10:26 AM Really?
Pics or it didn't happen.
Zekyl 01-05-2008, 10:46 AM I have no pics, but if you watched the game you saw it. It was on break-away, no one was anywhere near him, and he just flat out botched it. Classic Carlos
Timone 01-05-2008, 10:47 AM See, I put that in as a poll option because I couldn't even count the times the dude flew in for a reverse layup or a simple finger roll and missed it.
Zekyl 01-05-2008, 11:46 AM I voted that it would happen. You know he'll botch one per game.
i missed the game, but Tivoed it.......i'll be watching it today.
Timone 01-05-2008, 11:55 AM Matt, since I don't trust Zekyl, I'd like to know when that botched Delfino layup happens.
Thanks.
Matt, since I don't trust Zekyl, I'd like to know when that botched Delfino layup happens.
Thanks.
at about 6:50 into the 2nd quarter, Delfino blew a contested layup. haven't seen the wide open missed one yet.
Zekyl 01-05-2008, 06:34 PM Maybe that was the one I was thinking of. I swear there was one that he missed on a fast break though. I guess it could have been the other white SG/SF they have, Kapono, but I knew he did miss a layup at some point.
