Brandon Minor (Jr), Carlos Brown (Jr), Sam McGuffie (Fr), Avery Horn (RS Fr), Kevin Grady (Jr?), and Mike Cox (Fr)

Who will be the "Steve Slaton" and who will be the "Noel Devine" of the offense next year??

My guess is Carlos Brown will have Slatons role (20+ carries), McGuffie will have Noel Devines role (KR's, 10-15 carries), and Minor will have Owen Schmitts role (5-8 carries)

I think RRod will go with Minor as the fullback b/c he has speed, and he's a pretty punishing runner too...

I can't see Helmuth and Criswell being totally involved in the offense, especially since neither of them have carried the ball since high school

Depends on who the QB is. If you're out there running the option with Pryor, you'll see more McGuiffie I think. Otherwise I agree with you. Sam will be the change of pace home run hitter initially.

There could be a lot happening here. An entirely different system might set up well for guys we haven't even considered. Keep this in mind, we have a number of players on our roster that were QB's in high school - primarily in option offenses. Carlos Brown, I believe, was one of them. If we don't end up with Mallett OR Pryor, will we see him or another player from a different position getting many or all of the snaps at QB? Is it possible that someone on this roster, not currently playing QB, has an arm at least as good as Pat White? We may have to see.

Otherwise, I don't think RRod necessarily goes into all of this with a real depth chart planned ahead of him. I think many guys will start out on the same page, no doghouses, and have a chance to compete for carries.

I think it's possible (in the event we have neither Pryor nor Mallett) that Carlos Brown may see a few snaps (3-5) at QB per game, but to think he could play an entire game at QB, at his size is not going to happen.

cough cough

2 inches taller than Todd Reesing

Same size as Armanti Edwards

Only 1 inch shorter than Chase Daniel, 2 inches shorter than Pat White

There may be numerous reasons why he can't play the position, but at 6'0", I wouldn't say that height is among them as an option QB.
