View Full Version : Around the NBA: January 2008 (news and other game discussions) Timone 01-01-2008, 04:28 AM So...I thought it was time. Glenn 01-01-2008, 05:43 AM It happened. Timone 01-01-2008, 05:46 AM It's about to happen, actually. Wilfredo Ledezma 01-01-2008, 11:22 AM Blazers lost. Finally. Timone 01-01-2008, 11:31 AM Well, I didn't know where to put this, but I just read it's been confirmed the Suns are going to play a game outdoors in the preseason. Zekyl 01-01-2008, 05:32 PM Outdoors where? Like on a street court? Timone 01-01-2008, 05:33 PM That'd be funny. But no. As the NHL prepares to showcase its sport in the open air on Tuesday, the NBA has confirmed the Suns will play a preseason game outdoors next year. The Palm Springs Desert Sun reports the game will be at the famed Indian Wells Tennis Garden in California's Coachella Valley. No word on the opponent, though the Lakers would make too much sense. Maybe even more than hockey (at least south of the border), basketball is an outdoor game for most kids. We won't get black top and chain nets, but adding the element of Mother Nature will certainly be interesting. The organizers have considered safety nets for the worst weather, though. [Suns co-owner Richard] Heckmann said the Suns are planning several precautions in the rare case of rainy weather. He could not share all of them on the record, but said the group hired a meteorologist to suggest the best possible day for a rain- and wind-free game. "We don't want to see if Steve Nash can make a three-pointer in a 30 mph cross wind," he said. Speak for yourself. http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2007/12/31/suns-will-take-it-outside-next-year/ Glenn 01-03-2008, 02:27 PM Nets push back planned move to Brooklyn January 3, 2008 EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -- The New Jersey Nets will play most or all of the 2009-10 NBA season in New Jersey instead of Brooklyn, a team spokesman said Thursday. The Nets had planned to play at its new arena in New York starting in 2009. But spokesman Barry Baum said the move to Brooklyn wouldn't happen until sometime in 2010. The Nets could possibly begin the season at the Izod Center in East Rutherford and move to the new arena, to be called the Barclays Center, in the first half of 2010, Baum said. In October, Nets principal owner Bruce Ratner told The Associated Press that the new arena probably would not be ready by the start of the 2009-2010 season. Under terms of their contract with the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, which operates the Izod Center, the Nets have to give 18 months' notice before they leave to avoid paying a penalty, Baum said. The Nets haven't broken ground on the new arena, which is part of the Atlantic Yards development that is also set to include office space and as many as 6,400 new apartments. The $4 billion project has faced legal challenges from local residents and environmental groups. Timone 01-03-2008, 02:29 PM Pussies. Timone 01-03-2008, 07:08 PM Holy shitty games tonight Batman! Blazers @ Bulls in game 1 on TNT, Sonics @ Suns in game 2. I might just watch the Orange Bowl. Zekyl 01-03-2008, 07:46 PM It'd be more entertaining. Suns should stomp all over the Sonics, same with Blazers over the Bulls. Timone 01-03-2008, 07:48 PM Blazers-Bulls is going to be a close, defensive low 80's scoring game. Boring as shit. Suns are going to win like 134-114. I might watch Seattle-Phoenix. Zekyl 01-03-2008, 08:21 PM You get to watch the Suns rack up massive points, and you get to watch Kevin Durant. From a spectator standpoint that's the obviously better of the two games, but still no fun since it should be no contest. Timone 01-03-2008, 08:23 PM Is Durant even playing? He sprained his finger. I don't know if he's gonna LeBron it or not. Even if he is, he's nothing special to watch right now anyway. Timone 01-03-2008, 08:27 PM I forgot Portland were a good team this year and Brandon Roy is an emerging star. May end up watching both games after all. Timone 01-04-2008, 08:16 AM Golly, I went to sleep and the Blazers/Bulls game went to 2OT. Wilfredo Ledezma 01-04-2008, 01:27 PM Joe Smith had his first productive game since he was in college. Glenn 01-04-2008, 03:50 PM New York’s Zach Randolph Suspended One Game Posted Jan 4 2008 3:41PM NEW YORK, Jan. 4, 2008 – Zach Randolph of the New York Knicks has been suspended one game without pay for throwing his headband and hitting an official, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President Basketball Operations. The incident occurred with 1:47 remaining in the third period of the Knicks 107-97 loss to the Kings on Wednesday, Jan. 2 at Madison Square Garden. Randolph will serve his suspension tonight when the Knicks visit the San Antonio Spurs at the AT&T Center. The Spurs might win by 50 tonight, if they want to. Timone 01-04-2008, 03:51 PM For a second I thought he took the headband off and THEN hit the official. Zekyl 01-04-2008, 04:52 PM Wouldn't surprise me. He probably just didn't want to exhert the energy needed. Uncle Mxy 01-04-2008, 07:09 PM The Spurs might win by 50 tonight, if they want to. And this is different than any Knicks opponent how? Wilfredo Ledezma 01-04-2008, 08:52 PM Tony Allen 18 pts in 1st half tonight...that means its almost certain he'll have between 0-6 tomorrow night... Guys like him can't stay on fire for more than 1 game at a time... Uncle Mxy 01-04-2008, 10:19 PM Ray Allen shot 0-9 in the game tonight...that means its almost certain he'll have a 30+ point game tomorrow night... Guys like him can't stay down for more than 1 game at a time... Fixed. Timone 01-04-2008, 10:20 PM Fuck a Shuttlesworth. Kstat 01-04-2008, 10:26 PM Boston looked really out of it tonight. They were definitely thinking about tomorrow. An average team would have beaten them tonight. Cross 01-05-2008, 08:23 AM Memphis is better without Gasol. Raptors point guard T.J. Ford said Thursday that he is pain-free and will return to action sometime this season, adding that he will sit down with team officials within the next week or two to discuss his eventual return. Ford, who suffered an arm stinger after falling during a game on Dec.11 in Atlanta, told The Fan 590 yesterday that retirement had crossed his mind after his latest scare in Atlanta. "I can honestly say, yeah, it definitely comes across your mind," he said. "Especially as soon as it happens, when you are laying on the ground. It all plays the part when you are not able to move or get up on your own. "At the beginning you wonder if you could play again, if you should play again," added Ford, who is in Toronto but has yet to practise since his fall on Dec.11. "It depends on how quick your body can recover, what the doctors say and what you feel in your heart." good news for everyone Timone 01-05-2008, 10:29 AM Wade and Shaq both missed the Dallas game last night. They both need to retire and ride off into the sunset together so Miami can "officially" rebuild. Vinny 01-07-2008, 11:20 PM Phoenix put up 46 in the first tonight....first quarter that is....I wish Darko didn't suck so bad so it was still fun to make fun of Melo's efense.... What am I saying, Of Course it's still fun! Cross 01-08-2008, 12:07 AM Miami Heat center Shaquille O'Neal flew Monday to Los Angeles to seek medical treatment for a hip injury that has sidelined him the past five games. O'Neal's departure two games into a five-game trip is the latest setback for an injury-plagued team that has the worst record in the Eastern Conference at 8-26 and has lost seven games in a row. O'Neal had said Sunday he had hoped to return to the lineup Tuesday at Minnesota. He bruised his left hip Dec. 22 when he dived for a loose ball and slid into the scorer's table during a win over Utah. He aggravated the injury in a Dec. 26 loss at Philadelphia and hasn't played since. The hip injury and a sore left knee have contributed to the least productive season of O'Neal's 16-year career. He is averaging 14 points and 7.8 rebounds in 29 games. Injury layoffs have been common for O'Neal in recent years. He missed 39 games last season, when he underwent left knee surgery. He sat out 21 games during the Heat's 2005-06 championship season because of a sprained ankle and sprained thumb. The Heat lost O'Neal's backup, Alonzo Mourning, for the season when he tore two knee ligaments in a Dec. 19 loss at Atlanta. Dwyane Wade, Jason Williams and Dorell Wright have all battled injuries recently. Try a fucking zone!!! Try something new. Slow down the game. You're a shitty coach and your players are idiots if any team puts up that amount. Same old song and dance from those homos in Phoenix. Denver too. Timone 01-08-2008, 12:57 PM Flip Murray could have a night like that if he's given enough minutes. Well, with about 10 more turnovers. (AP) -- Celtics guard Ray Allen has a pinched nerve in his neck and is doubtful for Wednesday's home game against the Charlotte Bobcats, coach Doc Rivers said. "It's not anything that's going to last," Rivers said after practice Tuesday, adding he expects Allen to play Friday at New Jersey. "It's a pinched nerve, it is what it is. From my understanding, it's day to day." ADVERTISEMENT Allen, who is averaging 18 points, doesn't know how he got hurt. He said he has been experiencing soreness in his right shoulder, tingling in his arm and numbness in his fingers for several days. "The last two days or so it got a little worse to where I couldn't sleep," said Allen, acquired by the Celtics in a draft-day trade with Seattle. "Any way I turned, there was a real sharp pain back there." The Celtics also could be without Glen Davis against the Bobcats. He did not practice Tuesday while icing his sore right knee, which he injured in Saturday's win at Detroit when he had a career-high 20 points. MoTown 01-08-2008, 09:14 PM The fatass had to run down the court more than twice. Time to ice his knees. Shame on the Pistons for being beat by Oliver Miller's son. I can't believe some of the NBA "experts" at ESPN still think this team could get hot and get into the playoffs. Even with the East being "weak", they're going to be eliminated by the All-Star Break... Glenn 01-09-2008, 05:56 AM Jamal Crawford beat the Bulls today too I think you mean Eddy Curry, right? Glenn 01-09-2008, 02:27 PM If you couldn't see this coming, you're blind. Riley is considering stepping down as coach of the Heat after the season. When the going gets rough, Riles takes off. Zekyl 01-09-2008, 02:35 PM I've been waiting for that news. It was only a matter of time. WTFchris 01-09-2008, 02:47 PM Heat fans are asking if they can trade Shaq for some younger pieces. Like that is going to happen with his big fat contract. Zekyl 01-09-2008, 02:49 PM Who would want him right now? WTFchris 01-09-2008, 03:00 PM Nobody. You'd have to be a borderline contender. Like one of those teams that is consistantly a middle seed playoff team that can't get by the big guns or needs a piece to close the deal. It would have to be a team like Dallas, Denver, Houston, Cleveland, NJ, Utah, etc. Houston doesn't need another center, the Cavs have nothing to offer (outside Bron of course), Utah won't touch him (already have Boozer and Sloan likes character guys). That leaves Denver, Dallas and NJ. I can't see NJ taking on that salary, but maybe they think moving RJ and filler for him might be enough to make another run before Kidd and VC break down for good. Dallas would take the chance on his salary. They'd have to move Dampier and Terry and get a PG like Parker in return too. Denver has Kmart and Nene's contracts to move, so they could do it if they wanted to as well. That's all I can see. And those are just the possibilities. I'm not sure any of them would actually do it. And that's not factoring that Shaq might refuse to go to any of those places. defrocked 01-09-2008, 03:10 PM I'd agree that Denver is the most likely destination, fit- and contract-wise, but both Nene and K-Mart's deals go past Shaq's, so I can't see why they make the move either. They have to think those guys give them a better chance than a broken down Shaq, right? If not and they really do want Shaq's services, why would Miami take two longer deals in exchange? I believe K-Mart's deal was just named the worst contract in the league by Bill Simmons, but then again, he tends to be a self-important shithead, so I guess I don't want to use his arguments as an evidence. Also, would Camby move to PF, or would Shaq come off the bench for offensive bursts? WTFchris 01-09-2008, 03:37 PM Well, maybe a good first rounder would entice Miami. In a couple years it would be Melo and a bare coupboard. Maybe they would take the chance that the pick would pay off. Kmart's deal is the same length, Nene's is one year longer. But, they may like the upside of him more than Shaq's digressing game. Denver doens't have much to offer outside those two, unless they have picks owed to them. I think Camby could play PF. He's quick on his feet and many of the west PF's are bigger anyway (like TD). Again, I'm not sure Miami does it, but I think they're fooling themselves if they think Shaq/Wade will get them back to the finals with Wade hurt. the supporting cast they have and Shaq digressing. They would be trading crap contracts for crap contracts, with the hope that Kmart and Nene can provide more than a slowed Shaq. Glenn 01-09-2008, 04:27 PM Hill likely to miss 2 weeks Paul Coro The Arizona Republic Jan. 9, 2008 01:08 PM Suns forward Grant Hill's best run of good health in years took a surprise interruption today when it was learned he would need to undergo an appendectomy this evening. Suns General Manager Steve Kerr said Hill likely is expected to miss about two weeks of play. Cross 01-10-2008, 08:51 AM I don't know how the Lakers are doing so well with the squad they got. looks like that mo evans and cook for ariza trade is a steal for the lakers because ariza's been contributing very nicely. and the blazers are feeling it as well 22-13..without oden Wilfredo Ledezma 01-11-2008, 09:43 AM I just thought about this last night. It's pretty likely, the Pistons will end up with the 2nd seed in the East, thus we will play in the bottom part of the bracket and the winner of the (3) Vs. (6) series... I have to believe at some point Cleveland will get up to the 4 or 5 seed, if that happens, we will not have to play them in the playoffs (unless they beat Boston in the 2nd round)... The stars could align perfectly for us this year... (1)- Boston (8)- Chicago/Indiana/Atlanta/New Jersey??? (4)- Cleveland (5)- Toronto (3)- Orlando (6)- Washington? New Jersey? (2)- Detroit (7)- Washington/New Jersey/Indiana/Atlanta/Chicago? We own Orlando (9-0 since '05), so we could breeze into the Conference Finals and be fresher than Boston, especially if they have to do battle with the Bron-Bron's (who already single handedly beat Boston this season) Zekyl 01-11-2008, 12:04 PM I would be very happy with that situation. I don't want us to pull Chicago in the first round though. They would wear us out, and they always seem to do well against us because of their hustle. Wilfredo Ledezma 01-11-2008, 02:09 PM I would be very happy with that situation. I don't want us to pull Chicago in the first round though. They would wear us out, and they always seem to do well against us because of their hustle. True, if they keep their roster as is, I don't think they will even make the playoffs, let alone be the 7 seed. If they were to grab a guy like Gasol or McGrady or somebody like that by the Trade Deadline, they would probably be able to make up enough losses to get the 5 or 6 seed, in which case we wouldn't play them in the first round... My dream scenario would be Chicago getting the 8 seed, losing to Boston but perhaps giving them fits, then Boston goes on to play Cleveland in the 2nd round who should give them the most trouble (assuming LeBron does his Jordan impression again)... Kstat 01-11-2008, 03:57 PM Another Pacer gets busted... http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/50247/20080111/pacers_harrison_suspended_for_violating_anti_drug_ program/ David Harrison gets 5 games for testing positive for drugs, meaning this was the 3rd time he's tested positive. Bill Walton: "Just like Michigan." Kstat 01-11-2008, 08:02 PM Boston is looking less invincible by the minute... Jersey is running on them tonight. 30-22 after 1 quarter. geerussell 01-11-2008, 08:09 PM Heat fans are asking if they can trade Shaq for some younger pieces. Like that is going to happen with his big fat contract. Ben Wallace and a box of donuts to miami for Shaq. Miami then waives the box of donuts because without Walker and Shaq they don't need them. Kstat 01-11-2008, 09:27 PM Vince Carter just literally slapped himself in the face. Priceless moment. Bill has really grown on me. b-diddy 01-11-2008, 09:46 PM chris paul displaying why hes getting mvp talk tonight. hes awesome. any time pookie does something wrong, he literally always starts shaking a wrist or testing an elbow. i bet all hist teammates secretely hate him. Timone 01-11-2008, 09:48 PM The Hornets have a damn good team. David West is good for 20 and 10 every night and Paul just might be the best PG in the entire league. Plus, you throw in Peja shooting from the outside and Tyson Chandler even contributing 12 points a night (along with 12 boards). NO have a very likeable team and not just because they're from NO. b-diddy 01-11-2008, 09:52 PM i was just thinking about how much i wish the pistons played in the west. it seems like every exciting team in the nba plays in the west. portland, la, utah, phoenix, dallas, san an, orleans, seatle, and denver are probably the league's best teams to watch. i guess boston, detroit (wow), and toronto would also be up there. Timone 01-11-2008, 09:52 PM It's crazy. Like 1-7 in the West are all at least 10 games over .500. Kstat 01-11-2008, 09:53 PM The Nets gagged away a win tonight against Boston. 6 total points in the 4th quarter after being in control the entire game. Fuck missing a leg or anything, this guy is tough. b-diddy 01-12-2008, 12:49 AM watching the career arcs of amir johnson and andrew bynum is gonna be very interesting. they pretty much were identical coming, though to be fair bynum had a few inches and was picked 40 slots higher. but the lakers recognized they had a vested interest in developing this guy, and really put a ton of work on the guy. 3 years later, he is probably the 3rd best center in the league, and i'd probably actually take him over yao, looking into the future. meanwhile amir johnson seems to have had the torche passed on from darko. yea, i get it. the players have to step up and take their career into their own hands. but when your dealing with 17, 18, or whatever year olds, assuming a litle extra control over them isnt a bad thing. bynum is unbelievable, btw. last year at this time, he was putting together a 2 mnth stretch that he looked like the best center in the nba. now he looks even better than then, and it seems hes consistently playing at that high level now. keeping bynum over kidd looks pretty damn smart right now. hes also one of my favorite non pistons, btw. b-diddy 01-12-2008, 12:52 AM to keep ranting, lakers / suns is probably the non piston matchup i most want to see in the playoffs this year. if they played today, lakers would sweep. Bynum looks like he's the real deal. His post moves yesterday were real impressive. I'd crap my pants if Amir could pull off some of those footwork moves, without looking like a doofus. Bynum looks as though he's put in lots of work in his offensive refinement, and I'm sure the entire Lakers org is making damn sure he gets the attention. Amir is so far off from that, it's sad. Amir's "go to" move is a tip dunk off a rebound :( Hermy 01-12-2008, 12:19 PM Amir is a SF who may be tall enough to play PF. Bynum is a center. No amout of work changes that. b-diddy 01-12-2008, 12:23 PM they both have excellent size. bynum's may be better, but amir has better athleticism. like i said, bynum was picked 40 spots earlier for a reason. but they were equally raw coming into this league. three years later now bynum is an allstar center and amir is in lala land at the end of the bench. Cross 01-12-2008, 12:55 PM Well it's not like we depend on Amir right now. Its not like we can trade amir for jason kidd right? They were in 2 different situations. Kobe needed bynum to step up this year or hes going to start some chaotic bullshit for the front office. what does the front office do? get kareem to tutor bynum, specifically. Outside of Kobe and odom, the lakers had shit. Amir on the other hand...we don't need him to be 20/10 right now. We need him to be positive and not just call it quits. learn the rotations, practice hard, and dont whine(because he hasn't and never will). lol@bulls thread? The Bulls placed Joakim Noah on the inactive list for Friday's game against the 76ers after the rookie forward engaged in an angry exchange with Assistant Coach Ron Adams at the team's morning shootaround. Two team sources said Noah kept forgetting plays and blowing assignments during the walkthrough, then snapped when Adams kept riding him. Asked about the incident after the Bulls' 100-97 victory, Noah at first declined to comment. When pressed further on whether he regretted the incident, the rookie launched into a lengthy answer. "Yeah, I regret it because it was stupid," Noah said. "I mean, honestly, I like the coach a lot, but I felt like he disrespected me and I went back at him and maybe I shouldn't have done that." "We spoke about it. It's so stupid because I was just talking about how fortunate we are to be in this situation and things like that. I don't want people to think I'm somebody who takes advantage of people because that's not at all who I am as a person. At the same time, it happened. It's a learning experience." "Maybe next time if I have a problem I can say it in a bad manner instead of just blowing up. I let my emotions get the best of me." "It really, really [stinks]; that's all I can say," Noah said. "I'll learn from this and get better." Matt 01-12-2008, 09:59 PM Wizards up 79-75 on the Celtics w/ 27.5 sec left. But last week, Noah was benched for an extra game after he argued with an assistant coach at a team practice. Small forward Jarvis Hayes, who said he'd heard of the incident, said a similar situation would never occur with the Pistons' rookies. "They're great," Hayes said. "They speak up, but they're rookies. They understand. We have good rookies. They know their place. We kind of haze them a bit every now and then, but they're pretty good." Point guard Rodney Stuckey said he knows when and where to speak his mind -- within the 94 feet of hardwood during a game. "Obviously, when you're on the court and during the game, that's when you should speak," Stuckey said. "But other than that, I don't tell anyone how to live their lives with what they're doing. I've got to respect my elders at the end of the day, and they're helping me out. So I respect them." That know-your-place attitude is the key to being a good rookie, Hayes said. "Rookies can speak up," Hayes said. "But they have to know how and when to do it. You can't say anything you want as a rookie. You have to play a little bit before you can jump up in somebody's face." Glenn 01-18-2008, 06:47 PM For every player in the D-League Showcase who busted his back end to impress the overseas scouts and 30 NBA teams studying the event, perhaps no one did as much damage to his reputation as Josh McRoberts. His body language blurted, "Why do I have to be here?" on Tuesday and Thursday night, one more in a string of performances that have left people in the NBA and D-League asking: Does the rookie out of Duke want to play basketball anymore? McRoberts, a 6-foot-10 forward with impressive passing skills, needs to get over where he thought his basketball career would be and make the best of where it is. He was one of the top-five high school players in the nation, a freshman at Duke whom some executives believed would've been a first-round pick had he left school after one season. After a disappointing sophomore season, McRoberts turned pro and dropped to Portland with the 37th pick of the second round. McRoberts, a cheerleader for the Northwest Division's first-place Portland Trail Blazers, treated his assignment to Idaho like a deployment to Baghdad. Despite playing just three games this season, McRoberts resisted the chance to work on his game in Idaho. To go scoreless Tuesday night in 31 minutes and come back with 2 of 10 shooting that included more airballs and mindless basketball insulted his teammates, coaches and a slew of scouts. Most believe his two-year guaranteed contract was more a product of his childhood friendship with Greg Oden, than a testament of his talent. "He'd better figure out fast that Oden will make some new friends," one D-League coach said. When a player with a guaranteed contract comes down, he's an immediate target for players trying to make a name for themselves. They'll challenge him. On a nightly basis, McRoberts is getting humiliated in the D-League. "If you take away the name, the contract, the school, and just judge him on what you're seeing: He looked like the worst player in the building," one Western Conference personnel director said. Said an Eastern Conference scout, who had watched him regularly at Duke, "If he keeps this up, he will be out of the league in two years. (McRoberts) better wake up before it's too late for him. It's a shame because he has some talent." Timone 01-18-2008, 06:48 PM He's friends with the GOD? A young whippersnapper like that? Timone 01-18-2008, 07:00 PM On ESPN: ROY VS. WADE. Glenn 01-21-2008, 09:37 AM Report: Pacers' O'Neal says he may sit out rest of season ESPN.com news services Updated: January 21, 2008, 9:32 AM ET The Indiana Pacers might have to try to qualify for the playoffs without one of their top players. Center Jermaine O'Neal, who has been sidelined with a bruised left knee, told The Indianapolis Star for Monday's editions that he is willing to sit out the rest of the season to make sure his injury heals properly. "That's really the prime option for me," O'Neal told the newspaper, referring to sitting out the rest of this season. "We're going to rehab now like it was the summer, with an extensive rehab. If that consists of a month or the rest of the season, I need to take the necessary steps to not come back on something that's not really healthy. "That's the thing we have been saying. It's OK, but it really hasn't really been OK." The Star reported that Pacers team president Larry Bird wasn't available for comment. On Saturday, the team issued a news release saying O'Neal would miss at least two weeks. Last week, O'Neal said he was not fully healed from knee surgery to repair torn meniscus cartilage last April. He said he's surprised the healing process has been so slow. O'Neal said he had trouble during last Wednesday's practice, but he started that night against Golden State. He left the game with 2:58 remaining in the first quarter after going scoreless and committing four turnovers in the first 9 minutes. He is a six-time All-Star who averaged 19.4 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.6 blocks last season, but has missed 89 games over the past 3½ seasons because of injuries, illnesses and suspensions. He has missed eight games this season. "What's more important right now is doing the things necessary to get back healthy and also not have to get my whole damn knee replaced in 10 years," O'Neal told the Star. The Pacers (18-23) are currently a 1/2 game behind the New Jersey Nets (18-22) for the final Eastern Conference playoff spot. The signing is expected to be formally announced by the Bobcats later Thursday or Friday, with Boykins potentially in uniform Friday night when the Bobcats (No. 12 in the East at 18-28) visit Golden State. Boykins has been working out on his own all season and looking for a new team since last summer, when he opted out of the final year of his contract with Milwaukee (worth $3 million) after averaging 14 points and 4.5 assists with the Bucks following a January trade from Denver. b-diddy 01-31-2008, 06:31 PM if i were mj, i would fire sam "sparty" vincent. the bobcats should be a 500 team at worse. just because they are in the playoff hunt doesnt make them a playoff team. has anyone looked at the standings lately? what a joke. right now the 7 seed in the eas would be 6 games under 500, and the 8 seed would be 7 games under. how can one conference suck so much for 10 years? Timone 01-31-2008, 06:33 PM Yeah. Look at the West...my god. 1-8 could be #3 in the East. Timone 01-31-2008, 10:42 PM Celtics beat the Mavs, without KG again.
