So I got this new TV for xmas, now I have a question.

The cable guy came out and installed the HD box, and hooked the TV up with 5 component cables. He mentioned that we could use a single HDMI cable instead if we wanted to, and it might increase the picture quality some, but it would mostly improve the audio. I have digital cable, fwiw.

As it is currently hooked up, the picture quality on the HD channels is amazing, no complaints, but on the non-HD channels, I'm getting some distortion/resolution problems in places where there is a lot of motion, especially with porn. Just kidding.

Question:

Would the HDMI cable hookup method provide a noticable increase in picture clarity on the non-HD channels, or am I looking at a different problem/solution?

I don't know shit about this kind of stuff, and if you have a tech question, feel free to post it here and I'm sure someone will try to help.
