Look at these teams with amazing pitchers
Dbacks got b-Webb,Dan Haren, and Randy Johnson.
Tigers go verlander, dontrelle, bonderman and kenny rogers
if the sox get santana...beckett dice k tim wakefield and curt schilling...Ok so obviously the rex sox will have the best 5 man rotation.

we play the D'Backs in inter-league this year...I hope we get to play Brandon Webb, with our lineup, opposing pitchers shouldn't be scary anymore...
unless it's CC, b/c Granderson can't hit CC for shit

All you gotta do is score 2 or 3 runs and you'll beat Arizona.
And yeah, Red Sox having the best rotation (should they get Johan) is a no contest.

I think with our lineup, we should be able to put up a few runs on just about anyone.

It's interesting - the Tigers rotation COULD be the best, or it could be mediocre. We know what to expect from Verlander. He's been consitent. But considering the 2nd half the other 4 had, I'm not sure how I feel. Those four combined for roughly 12-27 with a 5.5 ERA after June last season. I realize the 12-27 part would change with more run support, which this lineup will certainly have, but the ERA is still a concern. We may lose games even if the offense DOES score 7-8 runs.
Even in the first half they combined for 23-26 with roughly a 4.6 ERA. Better, but not best-rotation-in-the-league stuff.
While I am like most people and expect dramtically better results next season, there must be some realism here.
I think a fantastic year would be if all were relatively healthy (we'll say a total under 10 missed starts combined for the staff) and every one of them had a winning record with over 10 wins and each had an ERA under 4.90. Not one of them qualified last year for both of those. Bonderman was the only one with a winning record, he and Willis were the only ones with 10 or more wins, but the other two were the only ones with ERA's under 5. Of course, Verlander was 18-6 with a 3.66 ERA. If he stays healthy he should be a lock to win 20-23 games this year. 14 of his starts last year were losses or no-decisions, and in 7 of the 14 the Tigers scored 3 runs or less. Add a couple runs to each game and he automatically wins 3 of those games putting him at 21 wins. Bottom line, if he can keep his ERA around 3.50 and continue to show the progress he made in strikeouts last season, he's a top 3 candidate for Cy Young.

Bondo needs to get his head on straight, he has the stuff to be a top 10 pitcher in the league if he wants to be...he always gets the Darius Miles syndrome after the All-Star Break
If the MLB schedule were ever to be cut in half and end in July, Bondo would have 5 Cy Youngs right now...
