View Full Version : OGT: Pistons @ Lazy Eyes (8:00 ESPN) Wilfredo Ledezma 12-12-2007, 06:14 PM Pistons win big... Houston is awful Mike Breen & JVG on the call...get me a bottle of water Timone 12-12-2007, 06:18 PM Mike Breen is good, I don't mind Van Gundy. Thank gosh it isn't Tirico and Walton. Rockets in a close one. Glenn 12-12-2007, 06:18 PM Lazy "eye" or "eyes"? Hmmmm http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/realgm/SHEEDGOT.jpg Wilfredo Ledezma 12-12-2007, 06:53 PM Lazy "eye" or "eyes"? Hmmmm http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/realgm/SHEEDGOT.jpg yes your right, fix the thread name...if you can Timone 12-12-2007, 07:43 PM oh noooooooooooo, Hubie! Timone 12-12-2007, 07:49 PM Who were the ones who liked Houston this year/picked them to come out of the West? Don't make me go back and get your names!! Tahoe 12-12-2007, 07:54 PM Sid Breem is way better than Walton Timone 12-12-2007, 08:03 PM Feelin' those jerseys. Anybody else? Glenn 12-12-2007, 08:12 PM If Hubie is in the house, then lazy "eyes" is entirely appropriate. DrRay11 12-12-2007, 08:15 PM Chat, anyone? Edit: Apparently not. Timone 12-12-2007, 08:16 PM I say we use the chat more often and for every playoff game. Tahoe 12-12-2007, 08:24 PM We had 12 posts on a game last week, 6 were some dumb shit by me, I think. Things is slow. DrRay11 12-12-2007, 08:27 PM Tracy sucks. Uncle Mxy 12-12-2007, 08:36 PM AFAICT, we're sucking too. DrRay11 12-12-2007, 08:38 PM Yeah kinda. Tahoe 12-12-2007, 08:46 PM AA will learn from that. Tahoe 12-12-2007, 08:48 PM Thats the way to work the clock Flip, 24 , 23 shot Tahoe 12-12-2007, 09:04 PM There is that interior defense I love so much. TMac with the slam at the end of the half. And by love, I mean hate. UxKa 12-12-2007, 09:04 PM Rip got schooled on that last play. Timone 12-12-2007, 09:12 PM Boring fucking game. Wilfredo Ledezma 12-12-2007, 09:12 PM Man, I don't think the first half could've been much uglier than that... Hubie is by far the most complementary commentator ever Wilfredo Ledezma 12-12-2007, 09:17 PM I think Jarvis Hayes has officially hit a wall... I knew Games 3-19 we're a fluke Zekyl 12-12-2007, 09:30 PM I'm here, I'm here. What did I miss? Zekyl 12-12-2007, 09:31 PM Anyone remember when we wanted Battier? I love Houstons old jerseys, mostly just because they're oldschool, I don't think I've seen the uni's were wearing before. Zekyl 12-12-2007, 09:32 PM Sheed is at the line. Take that Kenny Hill (or whatever the fuck his name was) Zekyl 12-12-2007, 09:34 PM Wait, I just took my first look at the score. What the fuck is going on?! Zekyl 12-12-2007, 09:38 PM Beautiful pass from Prince on the fast break. Did Hubie just say it was only our 4th fast break point? What the fuck?! Zekyl 12-12-2007, 09:41 PM McDyess having a solid game here tonight, 12-8 with 3 left in the third. Great hands by Prince, then he dunks over Yao at the other end!!! Zekyl 12-12-2007, 09:42 PM I say McDyess is playing well, makes a few shots in a row, then Flip sits him. Oh well, Max came in and he's at 8-6 right now. Zekyl 12-12-2007, 09:46 PM Rockets 1-11 from the line so far from the foul line. Zekyl 12-12-2007, 09:55 PM FlipM with the smart play. He was running full-speed down the side of the court, guy ran over and started to foul him and he just heaved the ball towards the basket and got free throws for it. Timone 12-12-2007, 09:55 PM Fuck, Flip...make your free throws. Timone 12-12-2007, 09:56 PM Go in the chat guys. Uncle Mxy 12-12-2007, 09:57 PM I say McDyess is playing well, makes a few shots in a row, then Flip sits him. Oh well, Max came in and he's at 8-6 right now. 4 fouls, hard to blame him. It's only the fact that they can't shoot a FT to save their lives tonight that is keeping us in this game. Timone 12-12-2007, 09:58 PM 'Sheed and Bonzi, picking up where they left off in Portland. Zekyl 12-12-2007, 09:59 PM OMG CHEAP tech on Sheed!!!! Sheed and Bonzi got offsetting T's, Sheed honestly didn't do anything I could see that warrented a tech, even in the replay I didn't see anything. It was more, Bonzi did something stupid and Sheed was in the area so they both got called. Reputation call. Edit - Didn't notice the chest bump at first. Zekyl 12-12-2007, 10:00 PM 4 fouls, hard to blame him. It's only the fact that they can't shoot a FT to save their lives tonight that is keeping us in this game. Didn't know about the foul situation, I wondered what the hell he was doing. Timone 12-12-2007, 10:03 PM Get in da chat. Or else. b-diddy 12-12-2007, 10:04 PM this is unbelievable. Timone 12-12-2007, 10:06 PM 69-67 Zekyl 12-12-2007, 10:08 PM CHAAAAAAT b-diddy 12-12-2007, 10:13 PM if its the ankle, we have him back pre playoffs. if its the knee, its happy trails antonio. b-diddy 12-12-2007, 10:17 PM he walked off well, so not nearly as bad as it looked. have him back in a month or two, or sooner, i guess. however, this game sucks, suddenly. b-diddy 12-12-2007, 10:19 PM how bout that recognition by CB to see yao was gassed and crashing the paint? that was good stuff by him. i love the way he's played every time i've seen him. b-diddy 12-12-2007, 10:20 PM dumb foul sheed. b-diddy 12-12-2007, 10:26 PM id foul. b-diddy 12-12-2007, 10:28 PM oooooooh. phantom! if we win this one we owe the league one. anyone remember that loss in minny in 2003, i think, when the refs bailed out garnet like 3 times down the stretch. this would even that one. in my mind, and probably only in my mind. b-diddy 12-12-2007, 10:29 PM they deserve the W. Timone 12-12-2007, 10:36 PM oooooooh. phantom! if we win this one we owe the league one. anyone remember that loss in minny in 2003, i think, when the refs bailed out garnet like 3 times down the stretch. this would even that one. in my mind, and probably only in my mind. yeah the one where Billups made the GW shot and they called him for an offensive foul right after he made it? b-diddy 12-12-2007, 11:32 PM something like that, it was brutal. Glenn 12-13-2007, 05:33 AM Did Tayshaun miss the plane from Memphis to Houston? 5 shots in 35 minutes? Did you guys hear Bill Walton say that Maxiell is a free agent is going to be a "very, very rich man"? Mike James can't even get off their bench? We sucked assholes this game, time to move on. metr0man 12-13-2007, 09:53 AM This game reminded me of the first game against Chicago. Even though we had chances to win it, I knew we weren't going to win it... how the Pistons play during the game almost always carries over in crunch time, I dont follow other teams enough to know if thats true with them but its very true with these guys. The only reason we had a chance to win it is because we got lucky knocking down threes (and their horrific FT shooting), not because we actually played well. It was almost a foregone conclusion that those threes at the end were gonna miss, if you play like ass, what happens in crunch time is ass, and is at the mercy of the percentages, and 3 point shooting is low percentage. Wilfredo Ledezma 12-13-2007, 09:54 AM Sheed missed that 3 at the end, b/c he wasnt directly in front of the basket...he can't make 3's from the corner... anybody think McDyess was fouled at the end? Glenn 12-13-2007, 10:03 AM Rasheed to fight tech: Rasheed Wallace was whistled for his third technical foul this season, but he said he will try and have it rescinded. After being whistled for a personal foul against ex-Portland teammate Bonzi Wells in the fourth quarter, Wells chest-bumped Wallace after the play. That led to a profanity-laced exchange between the two former teammates. Both players were given a technical foul. "That was some bull(bleep)," Wallace said. "He came up into me, and it's a tech on me. That's all right. I gotta get that one rescinded; hell yeah." Glenn 12-13-2007, 10:06 AM Walton actually made a decent point at halftime when he said that he doesn't like the Pistons because they play "however thier opponent plays". When they played Chicago, they played like Chicago, same with Memphis and again last night. We don't dictate the style of play at all. metr0man 12-13-2007, 10:12 AM That's all on Flip. yargs 12-13-2007, 10:16 AM Walton actually made a decent point at halftime when he said that he doesn't like the Pistons because they play "however thier opponent plays". When they played Chicago, they played like Chicago, same with Memphis and again last night. We don't dictate the style of play at all. Because we have a coach that reacts to what the opponent is doing rather than taking advantage of the obvious mismatches this team could create. I'm convinced that anyone named Flip is retarded. MoTown 12-13-2007, 10:26 AM Has Chauncey made a game winning shot since 2004? Big Swami 12-13-2007, 10:28 AM Because we have a coach that reacts to what the opponent is doing rather than taking advantage of the obvious mismatches this team could create. I'm convinced that anyone named Flip is retarded. but but but FORUTH QUARTER SLAUGHETR and therefore, Timone 12-13-2007, 10:29 AM Has Chauncey made a game winning shot since 2004? @ Memphis in '06, @ Washington in '05 (I think). yargs 12-13-2007, 10:43 AM but but but FORUTH QUARTER SLAUGHETR and therefore, Our coach is so retarded he actually thinks Flip Murray played well during those 4th quarter blowouts. Flip Murray had no business being on the floor for such an extended period of time last night let alone at any time. He's such an unbelievably bad basketball player it's sickening. (he really should come in for a heat check...if he's off, take him out immediately) And where did this "flip murray playing meaningful minutes in the 4th quarter" idea come from? The last few games in which the pistons played a good team or the game wasn't decided until the 4th quarter Flip Murray never even sniffed the floor. Was it his ability to never pass the rock and drive to the hoop and miss shots/free throws with regularity? I really don't understand our coach's substitution patterns. There isn't a rhyme or a reason. Timone 12-13-2007, 10:47 AM If The Spurs and Suns weren't such assholes and put Ginobili and Barbosa (though I don't know how that'd be done) in the starting lineup, Maxiell would SO be a Sixth Man of the Year candidate. Unless of course Jason Terry is still coming off the bench, in which case fuck the Mavs too! Wilfredo Ledezma 12-13-2007, 01:03 PM Has Chauncey made a game winning shot since 2004? on opening night this season Vs. Atlanta, he made a game-winning free throw driving to the lane when they were down by 1... he missed his attempt, but he knocked down both his FT's...if that counts Wilfredo Ledezma 12-13-2007, 01:04 PM If The Spurs and Suns weren't such assholes and put Ginobili and Barbosa (though I don't know how that'd be done) in the starting lineup, Maxiell would SO be a Sixth Man of the Year candidate. Unless of course Jason Terry is still coming off the bench, in which case fuck the Mavs too! :cogent: Black Dynamite 12-13-2007, 01:50 PM Walton actually made a decent point at halftime when he said that he doesn't like the Pistons because they play "however thier opponent plays". When they played Chicago, they played like Chicago, same with Memphis and again last night. We don't dictate the style of play at all. Thats a catch 22 trap statement though. When we were one dimensional in tempo people complained. Now they complain when we develop the ability to switch it up. Again proof that you can't make the anybody happy if you are a Detroit Piston. Wilfredo Ledezma 12-13-2007, 01:53 PM Who saw the half-time interview with T-Mac, that thing was wandering... http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2007/features/nba_faces/mcgrady.jpg Zekyl 12-13-2007, 01:55 PM Its not that we switch it up that bothers people. Its that we never dictate it ourselves, we always just go with whatever the other team does. Sometimes against slow tempo teams you need to push it a bit, and against up tempo teams you need to slow it down, screw with the other teams rythm, not your own. Tahoe 12-13-2007, 01:55 PM Rip got schooled on that last play. Yea he did. TMac got the first step on him, but that happened foul line or above and no one was there inside. So TMac is dribbling out the clock for the last shot in the half, he's at the foul line, beats the first line of defense and slams it home. That can't happen if we're going to win it all. Wilfredo Ledezma 12-13-2007, 01:56 PM Its not that we switch it up that bothers people. Its that we never dictate it ourselves, we always just go with whatever the other team does. Sometimes against slow tempo teams you need to push it a bit, and against up tempo teams you need to slow it down, screw with the other teams rythm, not your own. The Pistons like to turn the game into a tractor pull... plus, have you noticed we never play well on national TV??? next Wed @ Boston could be ugly...but I doubt it, the Pistons will probably win that game, since nobody will expect them too Zekyl 12-13-2007, 01:57 PM Hell, foul him right away so he can't dribble out the clock, they were about 4 of 20 from the stripe at that point, honestly. Glenn 12-13-2007, 02:01 PM plus, have you noticed we never play well on national TV??? Either last year or the year before we were nearly unbeatable on Nat TV. Glenn 12-14-2007, 11:53 AM forgot to mention that this was a "scheduling loss" Wilfredo Ledezma 12-14-2007, 12:01 PM Either last year or the year before we were nearly unbeatable on Nat TV. Probably the 64-18 year...we were dominant Zekyl 12-14-2007, 03:04 PM Was the ECF not on National TV that year? Timone 12-14-2007, 03:10 PM Nope. Dwyane Wade was. pwned |
