Cool site that takes realtime inventory of several popular sites, to find a Wii in stock:

I used one of those types of sites to find mine. Now I need to find Guitar Hero 3 after Christmas (got one, but it's a gift for the inlaws).

I have a wii and I think its overrated big time. Xbox 360 is so much better.

It would be nice if there were more cool games out for it. It's a fun system though. My favorite is still the bowling that came with it haha

Not really something you compare. Two different markets, ideas, and approaches to gaming overall.

Totally agree. Zelda was fun, but the best part of the Wii so far is by far the bowling on Wii Sports. Recently, Super Mario Galaxy was released and it's currently rated the #2 game of all time on Gamerankings.com, but I just don't know if I can play that type of game any more.

How many people here have the Wii and have it hooked up online?

Check out what Nintendo just released, per Gamespot-

Nintendo is giving the gift of being able to give gifts to any Wii owner, with the Wii gift feature launching worldwide today.

First announced back in October, the new feature lets Wii owners give games bought from the Wii Shop Channel as gifts. Sending a gift works similarly to purchasing a game. A new Gift button now appears in the Wii Shop, which users select to choose a friend from their Wii Friends Roster. The gift can be personalised by attaching a Mii and a short message.

Let me know if anyone has the capability. I've got a bunch of old school games downloaded, and would be willing to share. It would be tight if we could all hook each other up.

That's pretty cool. I didn't even know the Wii had built-in Wi-fi until a couple days ago and I've had a Wii for months lol. Now that I know I have to get around to buying an old school controller for it so I can get some old games.

We rented the Mario & Sonic Olypic game a few days ago. It was fun for a couple hours but there wasn't much variation. Since the bowling is fun we were going to get a 'real' bowling game but it was checked out... Maybe next time. I have to agree with your opinion on Galaxy. It looks fun but I might have moved past those types of games.

Well, my inlaws are getting Galaxy (from their parents) and Guitar Hero (from my wife and I), so I'll let you know if those are cool.

Hopefully I get Madden and Medal of Honor.

Mario Party is kindof fun. I wouldn't buy it as an adult, but it's fun to play with kids.

I love Mario Party. It lives up to its name when friends come over, compared to tougher games that friends may not have played before.

My only beef on Mario Party is the stupid bonus stars, which you can turn off. The PC always gets those and they are stupid ones like landing on the most red spaces, or eating the most candy. I always win the mini games ones, but that bonus star only comes into play like half the time, if that. It's better to just turn those random stars off and decide it within the game. I like the street map the best with the monopoly like feel.

How do you unlock the 6th map though?

I guess I have one more beef and that's when the do the battle royal (where you all put in coins as the prize money), and then you end up with the stupid luck mini game where you just cut strings until you die. That game sucks for putting your own coins in. Not to mention you could have no coins (and put none in) and then win the stupid luck contest. That's happened a few times against me. lol

Per GameStop, beat the star battle with any character. It's been so long since I unlocked it I don't remember. I think you have to do it in single player though. I agree it would be nice to take the chance mini games out but when you are playing with people it can help even things out. I don't know if the bonus stars have ever cost me a game because the AI got it, I guess I don't really mind those.

I used to play a lot of Wii at an ex's place. From the games I played, it seemed like WiiSports and then what was basically Wii Sports II (It was called Wii Games or something like that) were the two best games for it.

The Wii was pretty much a savior last night with a bunch of family over. 4-player bowling tournaments kept everyone under 30 busyall night. Just like I said earlier, it is the perfect system to have for when people come over and pick up a particular game for the first time.

Played some Wii Guitar Hero 3 much of yesterday. That game is so fun (but probably no different than the game on other systems. I have to try my Madden 08 tonight. I also got Madden 07 for Christmas. I'll probably trade that in for a shooter. Ghost Squad looks really interesting. Medal of Honor and Call of Duty 3 get slightly better ratings, but don't have multiplayer modes. The point of the Wii was to get a party machine, so multiplayer is needed IMO.

Calvin Johnson is broken on Madden 08. Try this one out:

1) pick the single back TE set normal (best if used on the left hash mark, and the longer the drive distance left the better).
2) pick the PA pattern with the TE doing a deep slant, the slot WR and the right WR running fly patterns.
3) Check the defense run against you. Most times they are in a 4-3 defense.
4) Watch how the defense adjusts to your slot WR. If the LB slides over he should have a good chance of being open on the go route. The safeties are the key. If they are in zone, the safeties will cover over the top and the best option will probably be your TE. If the defense is all in man, they may be watching your RB and leave your WR's 1 on 1. You won't know until the play develops.
5) As the play develops one of those three (slot WR, Right WR, TE) should be open over the top. Make sure to lead them far enough. Worst case is the safety gets a hand on it and breaks it up.

I did a fantasy draft (very fun) and I spent the majority of my first picks on defense: Merriman, Urlacher, Reed, Simms, Kearney, Rhodes (great SS)...so my offense was primarily made up from rookies that I hope develop: Adrian Peterson, Calvin Johnson, Meechum and Steve Smith (the rook), but I got Romo and Gates as well.

While they have holes in their game, speed is not one of them. They blow by the defenders on this play a lot, especially if the safeties hesitate on the play action.

I have my audibles set up to run plays from that formation in case they have a nickle formation and are in pass protection mode. You can easily get 5-8 yards on the HB blast off tackle if you set up your blocks right.

The best part is with so many rookies, they progress fast, and my team salary is dead last in the league (60 mil of a 100 mil cap). So when my season is over I can load up on things that I have mediocre talent at (my DT's are in the low 80's).

How so? As in injured?

How so? As in injured?

As in he's tall, fast, and doesn't drop anything. He's only rated in the 80's, but maybe blocking and other stats are bringing down the overall rating.

I just didn't understand how that meant he was broken. I get it now, after his explanation. I bet his awareness or one of those stupid stats that does nothing for recievers but factors into his ratings a ton is way down. Or his ball control (or whatever they call it that keeps him from fumbling, I haven't had a Madden game since 06).
