I'm looking at YOU Mr. James... Cross 12-03-2007, 03:40 AM Warriors are fucking hot with captain jackson back.,.. Glenn 12-03-2007, 05:27 AM Duncan injured. Dec 2 Duncan bruised his right knee and sprained his right ankle Sunday in the second quarter of the Spurs' game against the Portland Trail Blazers. Advice: Duncan got caught up with Portland's James Jones and fell to the floor near the Spurs' basket with 7:40 left in the half. He was clutching his knee and had to be helped off the floor by two of his teammates. The team said all of Duncan's ligaments appeared stable but that he would have an MRI on Monday. He was not to return to Sunday's game and the team said he would miss some playing time. Timone 12-03-2007, 05:59 AM Always hated him, but glad to see that at least it isn't a SPRAINED FINGER~!!!!!!! I'm looking at you again Mr. James... Zekyl 12-03-2007, 10:18 AM On his non-shooting hand no less. Didn't sheed play with a bad wrist on his shooting hand for a while a few years back? Just shot with the other hand. Uncle Mxy 12-03-2007, 10:48 AM Of course, Cleveland learning how to play and win some without LeBron is probably the best thing for them. Big Swami 12-03-2007, 12:07 PM play and win some without LeBron Syntax error. Does not compute. Timone 12-03-2007, 05:34 PM ^ Exactly. The refs can't just give Larry Hughes or Daniel Gibson calls, it will be way too suspicious. Cross 12-04-2007, 05:59 AM The 76ers are expected to fire Billy King as team president today and replace him with New Jersey Nets general manager Ed Stefanski, two league sources said last night. The team would give Stefanski a multiyear contract to become the franchise's chief decision-maker on basketball matters, a source said. The decision to remove King apparently was made in the last few days as the 76ers continued to struggle this season. It is not known whether the decision had been made before last night's home loss to the Atlanta Hawks . Stefanski will report to Comcast president and chief operating officer Peter Luukko. A source indicated that head coach Maurice Cheeks would retain his job for the rest of the season. It is not known whether Larry Brown, a consultant to the team and a close confidant of King's, would remain with the team in any capacity under Stefanski. Stefanski was directly involved in the team's getting forward Vince Carter from Toronto, and assisted team president Rod Thorn in acquiring forward Richard Jefferson and drafting center Nenad Krstic Big Swami 12-04-2007, 08:10 AM oh shit now I realize why the Nets are so badly managed Stefanski will report to Comcast president and chief operating officer Peter Luukko. Rod Thorn has been able to get a lot out of a little, amidst psychotic ownership situations. Glenn 12-04-2007, 03:52 PM Sims waived by Pacers By Conrad Brunner | Dec. 4, 2007 Reserve center Courtney Sims, who made the roster as an undrafted free agent rookie, was waived today by the Pacers. The 6-11, 245-pound Sims appeared in two games with the Pacers, totaling nine scoreless minutes with one rebound and one assist. Sims did not miss a game in his four-year college career at Michigan, playing in 133 in a row including 111 starts and finished second on the school's career blocked-shot list with 213. He averaged 11.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.31 blocked shots as a senior. LeBron James to miss tonight's game vs. Nets By Brian Windhorst Beacon Journal sportswriter POSTED: 02:02 p.m. EST, Dec 04, 2007 According to sources with the Cleveland Cavaliers, LeBron James will sit out his third consecutive full game tonight with a sprained left index finger. The Cavs (9-9) host the New Jersey Nets (8-9) at 7 p.m. In an unexpected yet strategic move, the Cavs are expected to start Shannon Brown in his place. The team needs to open a roster spot to accomodate Anderson Varejao, who is expected to be under contract within the next few days. According to various league sources, the Cavs will attempt to showcase Brown in an effort to trade him for a draft pick or a trade exception. Brown, who was taken with the 25th pick of the 2006 NBA Draft, has appeared in four games this season. He has scored 21 points in 39 minutes, but has hit only 7-of-24 from the field. James injured his finger in the second quarter of the game against the Detroit Pistons on Nov. 28. He stayed in that game until halftime but did not play in the second half. He did not dress for games at Toronto and at Boston. The Cavs lost all three of those games. According to sources with the Cleveland Cavaliers, LeBron James will sit out his third consecutive full game tonight with a sprained left index finger. 22 Timone 12-04-2007, 09:41 PM Idea: any time an article about LeBron is posted, let's see if there's any 22's in it. Glenn 12-09-2007, 03:29 AM Crazy game in "allas". Dallas 125, Utah 117 By JAIME ARON, AP Sports Writer December 9, 2007 DALLAS (AP) -- The high-rollers who own front-row seats at Dallas Mavericks games gave up their spots Saturday night as part of the annual "Seats for Soldiers" benefit. Then Dallas' Josh Howard and Utah's Deron Williams made sure the troops enjoyed quite a show. On a night when both teams made 60 percent of their shots, Howard's career-best 47 pushed the Mavericks past the Jazz 125-117 despite a career-high 41 for Williams. Howard's total was the sixth-most in Mavs history and topped his previous best by 17. His line: 14-of-19 shooting, 4-of-5 on 3-pointers and 15-of-17 on free throws, plus 10 rebounds, two assists and a block. After the game, Howard was intentent on sending a message, "I think this finally puts to rest the questions about Tayshaun Prince being my bitch", he said indignantly. "Josh is great when he's aggressive for four quarters. Tonight, he had it rolling," teammate Jason Terry said. Howard finished six points shy of the franchise scoring record. "We didn't have much of an answer for Howard," Utah coach Jerry Sloan said. "We couldn't stop him, but there were a lot of people we had a tough time stopping." Erick Dampier scored 21 points, matching his total for the previous seven games. Devin Harris had a career-best 12 assists and 10 points. Terry had 19 points and Jerry Stackhouse had 10. Dirk Nowitzki? He had 16, but none until five minutes into the second period. With everyone else playing so well, Dallas hardly needed the reigning MVP. This game could've been a blowout. It actually headed that way when the Mavericks went up by 16 late in the third quarter. Williams, however, refused to let it happen. A Dallas-area native, Williams scored 18 points in the third quarter, including Utah's last nine. He had 14 more in the fourth quarter, including a pair of free throws that got the Jazz within 112-110 with 3:41 left. Nowitzki answered with a basket, then Carlos Boozer missed a shot for Utah. Boozer fouled out on Dallas' ensuing possession and the comeback was pretty much done. Howard made sure of it by hitting a high-arching 22-footer, then feeding Terry for a fast-break dunk that made it 123-113. "All our losses, we've struggled defensively," Williams said. "We dominated points in the paint, we executed well, we just didn't get enough stops. We need to work on helping each other out on our rotations." Williams, who grew up in a Dallas suburb, was 13-of-20, 3-of-4 on 3-pointers and 12-of-13 from the line. He also had seven assists, two steals and three rebounds. While he topped the career high of 35 points set earlier this season, he didn't have any satisfaction. "No. We lost," he said. The Jazz shot 67.5 percent in the first quarter, yet came out trailing by five. Utah went an incredible 14-of-17 (82.4 percent) in the third quarter, yet trimmed only two points off Dallas' lead. The Jazz wound up shooting 60.5 percent, yet lost its third straight. Dallas shot 59.7 percent, scored its most points of the season and had all five starters score in double digits -- nice ways to end skids of two straight losses, three of four and six of nine. However, the Mavericks continued their trend of giving up 30-point quarters. They did so for the 11th time in 12 games, and actually did it twice, allowing 34 and 35 in the final two periods. "We just weren't able to stop them for long stretches," Stackhouse said. "We know we've got to get better defensively in order to get a nice streak of games going. We're not going to be able to allow teams to shoot at that clip and expect to win." Enjoying all the action courtside were roughly 125 military personnel from Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio and a National Guard unit from Fort Worth who recently returned from a year of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. This was the fourth straight year for this fan-started initiative. The troops were recognized between the first two quarters and received a standing ovation to the tune of "Proud To Be An American." Dampier made 7-of-8 shots, had five rebounds and a pair of blocks. He hadn't scored more than eight points in a game all season, but was on from the start, scoring six of Dallas' first 11 points. Since he's joined the Mavs, they are 51-9 when he scores 10 or more points. Boozer was 11-of-15 for 24 points with five rebounds and four assists. Andrei Kirilenko had 10 points and eight assists, Matt Harpring scored 11 points and Memet Okur had 10. Utah was coming off a tough loss in San Antonio the previous night and it showed. The Jazz's only lead was 7-5; they allowed a 10-0 run after that. Timone 12-09-2007, 05:14 AM Wolves beat the Suns, Bobcats beat the Cavs, Sixers smash the Knicks, Celtics over the Bulls... While the basket ball star and his wife Eva Longoria are busy with their persistent denial, Paressant just won't stop revealing more evidence related to her cheating allegation. Hot on the heels of her shocking interview with X17online on how she and Tony first met to how they ended up having a sexual encounter in his hotel, Paressant comes public with the text messages she exchanged with Tony while at the same time shows off Tony's picture in bed he deliberately sent to her phone. While speculation is mounting on the street on whether or not Paressant is telling the truth, the further evidence obtained by X17online seems to just add fuel to the much talked issue. A sample of the text messages, originally written in French, said "I'm at the hotel, relax. We're going to see each other on Thur. Anyway." Check out X17online to read the exclusively revealed raunchy text messages. In addition to the text messages, Paressant also listed Tony as one of her friends on her MySpace. In between times, Eva and Tony have issued a joint statement through a representative, calling the cheating allegation as "100 per cent false and untrue" adding that "All high profile couples fall victim to these sorts of things in the course of their relationships. Report: Cavs' Jones, Newble refused to play game's final minute ESPN.com news services Updated: December 28, 2007, 3:45 PM ET The Cleveland Cavaliers have fined Damon Jones an undisclosed sum after the point guard refused to come off the bench for the final minute of their Christmas Day victory over the Miami Heat. And Jones wasn't alone in his digression, the Cleveland Plain-Dealer reported on Friday. Guard-forward Ira Newble also declined to enter the game at that point, saying he wasn't physically ready to play, the newspaper said. "Regardless on how much time is on the clock, I'm going 100 percent every time I step on the court," Newble said, according to the Plain-Dealer. "Not being loose enough, you could possibly pull something." Cavs coach Mike Brown, speaking before Thursday's game against Dallas, said the issue was an internal matter and he wouldn't have any additional comment. It wasn't known if Newble was fined, the Plain-Dealer said. Of the 12 Cleveland players, Jones and Newble were the only ones not to log minutes in the Cavs' 96-82 victory over Miami. Vandeweghe will essentially replace Ed Stefanski, who left the Nets to join the Philadelphia 76ers earlier this month. Stefanski replaced Billy King as the 76ers general manager. A team news release said that Vandeweghe's duties will include working with Thorn to prepare for the 2008 NBA draft and " in the evaluation of current and future player personnel." Vandeweghe was the general manager of the Denver Nuggets from 2001-2006. He has spent part of the last two seasons as an NBA analyst for ESPN. "We are very pleased to welcome Kiki to the Nets," Thorn said in a news release from the team. "Kiki has been a mainstay in the league for almost two decades, first as an All-Star player and then as a front office executive. His experience in both areas will be an invaluable asset to the franchise, and we look forward to his contributions." Vandeweghe, 49, played 13 seasons in the NBA for Denver, Portland, New York and the Los Angeles Clippers. As a general manager in Denver, he drafted Carmelo Anthony in 2003 and orchestrated major trades for Kenyon Martin and Marcus Camby. He also worked for the Dallas Mavericks as an assistant coach and director of player development prior to joining Denver. b-diddy 12-31-2007, 04:25 PM holy crap dwight howard!! thats a career highlight play right there. b-diddy 12-31-2007, 04:39 PM washed up, useless ben wallace has been a one man wrecking crew this game. he's been the most important player on the floor for OT and the last few minutes of the game.
