That was great, thank you.

I wonder if Steph Marbury drinks that?

I also think that Memo's last name neded to be larger on the back of his jersey.

Nice find.

I love how big the picture file is yet how small the actual picture is. This entire thread was a nice effort and I really appreciate it (and I know Memo does too). If my life wasn't so fucked right now I'd help it out. But since it is you get shit. Sorry.

Sorry to hear that, Fool.

Don't fret, we'll hold it down here in the OGT for you.

It would be nice if Memo could own and the Pistons could still win, those things are possibly mutually exclusive.

Pistons hungry for win vs. Jazz

Saturday November 24, 2007, 9:05 PM
By A. Sherrod Blakely

AUBURN HILLS -- The way Flip Saunders sees it, there's never really a good time to play the Utah Jazz.

But even he concedes that considering the rash of injuries and illnesses impacting his team, it's hard to imagine a worst time to play a Jazz squad that has defeated Detroit four straight times, and six of the last seven meetings.

"Rasheed's been hurt, Rip has been sick and we're playing a team we haven't beat in, I don't know how many years," Saunders said.

And to make matters worse, Utah's physical play in the frontcourt is now complimented by stellar play at the point with Deron Williams, whose 8.3 assists per game ranks fifth in the NBA.

"He's turned himself into an All-Star player," Saunders said. "He's a catalyst of their team. He kind of makes them go."

Saunders added, "he does everything well. He plays hard, he can shoot the ball, he has great speed. He's a little bit like Jason Kidd in the ability to push the ball up the floor. Strength-wise, he can post up and defend. He's one of those guys, if you look at him, he doesn't have what you would consider a weakness."

Chauncey Billups saw Williams' game up close this summer when both were part of Team USA's National team.

"He's one of the best point guards in the league," Billups said. "He does a good job of staying aggressive scoring the ball and he's able to set guys up and run the show."

Billups said he and his teammates were aware of Detroit's recent struggles against Utah, despite most of the recent games being decided in the final minute or two.

Last season's two losses to the Jazz were by a combined three points. And one of the losses during the 2005-2006 season was a 94-90 overtime loss at The Palace.

"They've gotten the best of us in pretty much, all those games," Billups said. "I know I look forward to it, and I know everybody else looks forward to trying to win a game against them, for sure."

But when you factor in Rasheed Wallace (sore left knee) and Richard Hamilton (flu-like symptoms) are both questionable for Sunday's game, the Pistons have plenty of reasons to be concerned that their struggles against the Jazz won't end Sunday.

"It makes it a little bit more difficult, but guys have to step up and play big," Billups said. "That's why you have a bench; that's why you have other guys working so hard in practice, to get opportunities. ... it would be more difficult, but it still can be done."

One of those players likely to play more even if Wallace sees action is Nazr Mohammed. Saunders said earlier this season that Mohammed's role would likely increase against teams with lots of big bodies such as Utah.

Although increased playing time should come, Mohammed doesn't take any chances.

"I don't know whether I'm playing or not until I get out there on the floor," Mohammed said. "So the only thing I try to think about is making sure when my opportunity comes, that I'm ready."

An 11.8 minutes per game player this season, Mohammed's playing time has doubled in the past two games in part because of the opponent, injuries and foul trouble among the starters.

"My mindset is, I'm basically going to stick to doing the things that I do well and keep it pretty basic," Mohammed said. "Rebound, finish plays and play hard."

Utah matchup is always a challenge; Rip, Rasheed questionable
November 25, 2007

For the Pistons, it seems there's no good time to play the Utah Jazz. The West's most overlooked elite team has topped the Pistons in their last four meetings, encompassing all of coach Flip Saunders' tenure with Detroit.

Today, it won't get any easier as two of the Pistons' top two players are listed as questionable.

Shooting guard Richard Hamilton missed Saturday's short practice and stayed home to fight off a flu bug. And forward Rasheed Wallace stayed put in the training room, taking treatment on his sore left knee.

"I do know this," Saunders said. "We have to play hard or we'll get embarrassed. It's not prime time to play them without Rasheed and with Rip being sick. When you play an elite team, you want to be full strength."

If the team goes without Wallace today, that will especially hurt, as Utah's athletic front court -- which spreads out the defense by making outside shots -- often hurts the Pistons the most.

"It makes it a little more difficult," point guard Chauncey Billups said. "But guys just have to come in and step up and play big. That's why you have a bench and other guys working so hard in practice. Without 'Sheed, it's a little more difficult, but it can still be done."

Saunders said he made sure to bring up on Saturday the fact that the Pistons have lost four straight to Utah. The only other team the Pistons have a losing record against under Saunders is the Washington Wizards -- they lost all three meetings against the Wizards two seasons ago.

But Utah is the only team they haven't beaten once.

"That team has been very successful against us," Billups said. "Most every game is a close game, but they've had the upper hand and got the best of us in every game."

Saunders said forward Jason Maxiell and rookie guard Arron Afflalo will start if the two regular starters can't go.

MINI ME: The Jazz has one of the league's top young point guards in Deron Williams, whom Billups mentored a bit during their time together with Team USA last summer.

He said he considers Williams the up-and-coming point guard who most fits his mold as a scorer and distributor.

"There were times I just talked to him about situations on the court, me and Jason (Kidd) as well," Billups said. "He's one of the bright young stars in the league."

We are NOT tough underneath anymore. We have NO enforcer. Pistons bball is not Piston bball without a Billy Lambs or Ben Wallace.

Detroit Pistons guard Richard Hamilton (32) had the ball knocked away by Utah Jazz guard Jason Hart, right, in the first half of a college basketball game Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, in Auburn Hills, Mich. The Pistons lost to the Jazz, 103-93.

That bad eh?

Do the rules for players apply to coaches? If we can get Flip to 15 techs, does he stop coaching every other game?

I'm glad to see that we were giving Boozer all sorts of different looks with Amir and Samb playing. It was key to limiting his scoring... oh wait, I'm dreaming.
