This game is by far the best looking game on the 360 to date. This and Bioshock are the most polished graphics on the system.

The gameplay is good, but the I have a minor problem in that the game plays exactly like COD2 did, but this time theres modern weapons. You run into an area, find cover, and blast away at waves of russians and arabs, except their not Germans with Lugers this time.

It is far improved in team AI though, while a few teammates still make horrible decisions and run at a .50 cal, they are usually pretty tactical, and are pretty useful, you kill a lot of people, but they sure get a ton of guys too.

Enemy AI is smarter, but still pretty easy, and they all don't shoot at you like COD3. It's a really good game, but still has some flaws, but easily worth the 60 bucks.

Lookin forward to COD4.

Did they add the co-op multiplayer at all? That's something I wish you could do like Halo 2 does.

yea thats fair. I may pick up COD4 on PS3 next week. Its hard to decide between that, Stranglehold and Heavenly sword. All i'm sure about is that i'm buying Uncharted when it comes out.

I was just about to come in here and start this thread. As I've said before, I'm not really a "shooter guy" but I picked this game up last Friday, and I couldn't be more satisfied. The graphics are the best I've seen and the gameplay is super smooth. The 1 player mode is epic and the online play is where it really shines. To me, the coolest part is that you're able to "level up" your character online with new rankings, unlockable weapons, perks, etc. If you're playing the game, and you reach level 13 and are able to choose a clan tag, go with [THIK]. That's how Jickboy and I are rollin.

This game is a must buy. If you play video games at all, you have to own this game.

The game is really good...myself, Tre, Wizzle, and Mood were all playing today having a blast making fun of the U.K. guys who just want to argue. My Xbox tag is T34Bone if anyone wants a game.

Grabbed it for PS3. It feels like a FPS version of Socom rip off a lil' bit at times. But it doesnt hurt to do that if your game turns out as good as COD4 has. Solid online play too. Light years smoother than COD3.

Another part is in the barn yard where you have to make back down the hill to get extracted. Forgot the name of that mission.

It saved me at a spot with crappy weapons and in a bad spot. It took me forever to get out of the yard. I made it down the hill pretty quick, but got hung up in there forever.

The air strikes are pretty cool, but not as effective as I thought they'd be.

Are all kills worth the same amount of points? Cuz I swear I sniped this one guy and got a bunch of points for it...not just 5. Maybe it was just the promotion stuff they run, but thought I got more than 5.

Prior to signing up on XBL, my profile was OrSomething. I played all my games on that profile or whatever its called. When I went to sign up they said OrSomething was taken to I made a new profile. Now none of the games I've completed show up on XBL.

I think I should have just kept the same profile but changed my gamer tag?

Is there any way to get the credits from one profile on my box to the one I use for XBL?

I'm having a blast playing Live, "Free for all". Every player for himself, 6-8 players. I want to get better before I do the team thing.

Actually free for all is on both systems. I prefer ground war myself. Get as many people on the field as possible. Free For All is fun in its own right. But people are pretty sore losers in their. lol

I'd prolly get kicked off a team for getting killed so much. I got use to pressing LT during the game and it just locked onto the target. LT doesn't work in Live, for me anyway.

I have to learn to switch to my side arm instead of reloading and use the melee button more too. I'll get there.

actually no such thing h9appens on COD4. being a weak link doesnt get you canned as it can sometimes in other games. give it some tries. its the best way to learn. gives you the learning curve of a team picking up your lost slack as you get better.

i mean offline and i own no box(ps3 here), although my lil bro does. he also has COD4 and its as identical as you can get from what i've seen. Either way i'm talking about the offline where at the end you do the airplane mission. i beat it on whatever the regular mode is.

I've tried the Ground war a few times now and while its fun, it's pretty foreign to "free for all' or every man for himself. I'm totally sucking in GW.

Everyone takes off running so I run with them, then get shot. Respawn, take off running, get shot.

I'd play that if there was a way to play with other players that suck at it, like I do.

I'm going to try it again but with a heavy machine gun. I got a few kills that one game but my main contribution is to take RPGs and take down the enemy hellofacopter.

I think I'll hit the forums and see if I can get some hints.

Heres another example of my suckage...I went into a house and there were like 4 guys standing at the window. So I stand back to let them decide what to do. After a while they turn around, look at me, and shoot me. They were the enemy. FUCK! I could have easily nailed them all.

Its waaayyy simpler than you think. Learn the maps, they arent that big so if you pay attention to them you'll come up with strategies that work for you. but at first you're gonna get shot and blew up at an almost frustrating rate.

the big machine guns are good. but the assault rifles are more useful imo. try using the stopping power perk.

I got on this one team and they were all talking strategy and that was a good thing.

One of them goes into the game with a sniper rifle, a couple with assaults, and a heavy maching gun. The sniper guy went up and another guy covered him and the rest assaulted...thats the way it appeared anyway.

But most of the time its guys who speak a different language, or don't say anything at all and are just running around.

If anyone ever feels like bringing a noob along for some training. Let me know...please. I'm a little heavy, so you might have back issues after carrying me for a couple of games.

They all have flags. Its radom switching between Team Deathmatch and Domination flag capture in Ground war.

Either way keep learning the maps. One technique I use is a shotgun, smoke grenade, 2 c4 perk, increased health perk, and martyrdom. What is throw the smoke in front of enemy site and make a run for them at an up close shot. Its catches most people off guard when a raving lunatic charges at them with the shotty.

I figured that out last night. I played quite a bit last night. Domination=flags, GW=kills. I must have switched somehow, not knowing it.

I played Headquarters for a few hours too. Fun game.

One thing about GW, Dom or HQ is that I've learned more about the maps in one day than I have in all my days playing FFA. They force you to go out there.

I had a couple of pretty good games of FFA, last night I had a 21-4. I should have done better...missed a couple easy kills and thought the Heli support came in automatically. You have to activate it.

Yes it is. Its a big thing on the internet in general. Be nice and say nobody hates anybody. Then tell the truth when nobody can touch you online. Its always funny to me. But its been going on as long as console online gaming. Any Socom vets can vouch for that.


I remember a clan of very "upscale yuppie" sounding white guys who all named themselves racial slurs and changed all their taunts to racial slurs. Then there was one clan with a token black who through slurs out because he approved it with mindless laughter all in the mic. .

My recommendation is get used to it and ignore it mainly because you won't hear any of it if you met these people in person.

Have any of you captured all 30 pieces of enemy intel in single player mode (not online)? I have all 29 but missed one in the "One Shot, One Kill" mission. I keep hearing that it is found in a doorway when you are waiting for the rescue chopper to arrive. But I see no open door way.

These new maps better be packed with bug fixes for the sniper rifles.

So far the only things that changed is that you can see the grenades fly at you on kill cam.

Try looking on Google Video / youtube and you will find tutorials. I fail at these things far too often to try them in a game. But they are possible.

Oddly, one of the players invited to show me them 2 nights ago. They are slick. But you are kind of a sitting duck, with some of them, while you are up there too.

Funny how some of the maps I didn't like in the beginging, I like now.

My rankings...

1. Overgrown. My fav. Lots of cover and buildings. Good mixture of things. Had a 24-3 in free-for-all, which was way better to me than one of my 25-15s.

2. Crash 3 nice buildings to go to, you can move around without being shot by campers.

3. Bog. Now that I stay in the middle this map is sooooo much better. I've had some high kills on this map,but got killed a lot too.

4. Backlot No matter where you spawn, theres somewhere near to go kill someone.

5. Strike I go to the same place every time,but still have fun killing peeps trying to kill me.

6. Crossfire My fav camping spot of all on this map

7. Countdown. A map I hated at first. Staying out in the middle is the fun part.

8. District I move constantly on this map

9. Ambush Move and snipe, very good map

10. Showdown Can be good or bad, depends on who is on with you.

11. Pipeline was my fav, they need to cut the back half of the map out. I always get spawned way out back. Waste of time sometimes.

12. Vacant I stay outside all the time. I score pretty good out there and shitty score inside.

13. Downpour. I suck at it, don't like it.

14. Wet Work I score ok, but not a lot of strategy.

Love this game. My HD TV is upstairs, so I'm playing on a 60" Mits. The resolution isn't that great and I'm a lil surprised that it has that much of an effect on the game, but it does.

So as usual these guys started ripping on me, mainly cuz they couldn't kill me. So after about 3 or 4 games, I plugged my mic in and said..."I'm sorry about camping guys, but I only have one arm" They started apologizing over and over. I said its ok. They were saying they'd never rip on a camper again and on and on.

Then my friggin buddy joins the game and starts hackin on me cuz I was camping and they asked I only had one arm and he said hell no and then they started calling me names again. Hey, they felt like shit for a while there, so it was funny to me.
