I can't be the only one that thinks "Fukudome" is one of the funniest last names of all time.

How is Posada #2 on this list? He had a career year, he can't throw anybody out stealing a base, and he's 36...

Tell me Keith Law isn't a Yankees fan...

Maybe cause cathers are pretty much shit. It's probably the same overpricing centers get in the NBA.

BTW, Posada resigned anyway.

Could Pudge revive Gange's career?

Gagne was awful in his two months in Boston, but he was very good before that in Texas, and there wasn't anything wrong with his stuff after the trade. His fastball was plus at 92-94 mph but mostly straight, and his "Vulcan" changeup (also known as a split-change) was still plus at 82-85 with both fade (away from a left-handed hitter) and tumble. His fastball command was not good, and he overused his it, going to it in obvious changeup counts and throwing enough fastballs in succession for hitters to time it. The command isn't predictable, but the pitching plan can be fixed.

The rumor in July was that Gagne wanted two years on his next contract, but his pitching down the stretch might have killed his chances. As a one-year gamble, even if it means giving him a vesting option, he's a no-brainer because he should at least be a strong middle reliever and could step in and close if the command issue is resolved.

I wouldn't mind seeing him come here as a middle reliever. If we fix his stuff, great, if not we call up one of our guys from the minors to take his place.
