Yes, Sunday could be a "trap game", on paper the Lions should win easily, a slumping Cardinals team with Kurt Warner runnin the O. Hopefully Marinelli keep's the guys on track, and not looking ahead.

Valenti said it best yesterday, if the Lions can take care of their business this week, the rest of the season will really be a hell of a lot of fun...

Don't forget Boldin is back as well. They could light us up fast if we aren't careful. I'd like to see a heavy dose of Jones again to start out and set the tempo.

Are the Cards still considered a team with really good team speed?

I think we have this thing going, so I'm not too concerned with AZ. I'm more concerned with possibly packing it in early vs the Giants the following week if we get down early. Thinking we have only 3 days till we play GB.

Wilfredo Ledezma
11-06-2007, 02:08 PM
I'm excited to see Steve Breaston...if Arizona is to score a TD, I hope its via the Breaston kick return...he already took one to the house Vs. Pittsburgh earlier in the year...

also theres an off chance we could see a Gabe Watson/Alan Branch combo on the DL', tell me Russ Grimm isn't going to have both of those guys in the Pro Bowl by 2010...

WTFchris
11-06-2007, 02:10 PM
Isn't Levi Brown out for them still? I know their OL sucked last year. If our DL can play like last game Warner will get killed with his hurting arm.

Warner always plays well when he has time. He makes good decisions for the most part. If we can't get pressure on him we're screwed, but if we find a way to get some consistent pressure on him the game will be ours.

Edgerrin James isn't that good, he's lost a step, the Cards O-Line is mediocre, our front seven should be able to keep Edge in tact...

keeping Boldin and Fitz in check will be the main thing

I still think its mind-boggling we are an underdog to a 3-5 team...must be the road factor...it's not like the Lions have "been here before"...

So I guess it's not as mind-boggling as I had originally thought...

Still like the Lions to win the game though...

KK with the pick. Cards were fine doing with their little dinking but as soon as they went long our opportunistic D took the ball.

1st paly after the to, they go for the endzone and just miss.

Kitna is NOT afraid to hold onto that ball. Sometimes thats good and sometimes bad.

DE
11-11-2007, 04:57 PM
Why aren't they running the football???

I really think sometimes Martz out-thinks himself. He hates to do the obvious and I think that often the obvious is not always bad. We're not doing that well on the line, running would be great right now.

Tahoe
11-11-2007, 04:59 PM
I don't mind Martz's pass first offense when were tied or ahead and its early.

DE
11-11-2007, 05:01 PM
I agree with you, but I also think running is huge to establish strength on the line. They have a very good D line and running keeps that in check.

Wilfredo Ledezma

I agree with you, but I also think running is huge to establish strength on the line. They have a very good D line and running keeps that in check.

Yes I agree, it can also open up the passing game...

Tahoe
11-11-2007, 05:04 PM
I like it when Martz gets their D line thiniking rush the passer, rush the passer then runs a few lil trap runs. The d line is in the backfield and the rusher is by them.

NOT like that btw. A sweep or off tackle???? The Jones loss.

DE
11-11-2007, 05:06 PM
Sweeps and pitches are not a bad call with Jones. One of the things I really like about him is that he is good at letting blockers get ahead of him.

I guess I was mixed up. I looked it up and that was the game when bobby ross went for the 2-point conversion when the lions were down 23-19 (xp would have made it 23-20). They missed the 2-pt. and the game ended with the lions at the cardinal 20 yard line (where a FG would have tied it if ross had kicked the xp). I suppose no one else remembers that game. I think the lions beat the rams the week before (who went on to win the Super Bowl that year). It looks like the lions ended up 8-8 that year but made the playoffs.

Wait... who took the wind?

The lions coaches have made me senile. I can no longer differentiate one crappy coach from another.

Per Wikipedia, Bill Belichick was once on the Lions coaching staff, but I was a sperm cell then.

Tahoe... The correct answer is Zach Minor took the wind.
No no no. Miner is better than that. He would never take the wind. It was the guy we traded him for that took the wind.
