View Full Version : Is this offensive?
gusman 10-25-2007, 09:56 PM At the tip off party I asked Flip Murray if they ever caught the guy that robbed his house. He acted very offended, I guess I regret saying it, but he acted as if I told him square off.
You guys think it was that much of a taboo topic?
micknugget 10-25-2007, 10:21 PM I don't see it as offensive in the material itself. It could be an issue that it's a sore subject with him due to what happened or how it was handled or maybe he is just offended by the delve into his personal life. Who knows?
Uncle Mxy 10-25-2007, 10:23 PM The whole matter might piss him off and he may not want to talk about it. It's not inherently offensive, but I could see where it'd be a sensitive subject. IIRC, it started with some girl he picked up from a strip club, and lots of folks wouldn't consider such things to be casual conversation.
gusman 10-25-2007, 10:30 PM I kinda feel bad about it, some of the players act like such picks. Tayshaun was being a dick as per usual. I asked him if he liked The Game of Dr Dre better, he got pissed and said that Dre doesn't even count as a rapper. How could I compare the two. Amir said he thought Kanye's new CD was alright but Little Wayne is much better. Nazr is one nice guy we had a good conversation, seemed like and intelligent person.
Timone 10-25-2007, 10:31 PM Lil' Wayne is wack.
Dre would kill Tayshaun if he heard that shit.
gusman 10-25-2007, 10:41 PM I love watching these guys egos change, maxiel gets more arrogant every year, he use to talk to fans and now he acts like rasheed. I think it just goes to their heads, if there was every a time to be nice the tip off party would be the place, I play the players salary and i dont think they really give a dam
Timone 10-25-2007, 10:48 PM Where was this at?
MoTown 10-25-2007, 10:58 PM That surprises me about Tay. I've spoken with him before and he seems to be very humble.
I've never met Rip, but I always thought he would be fun to hang out with.
How was Darko?
Timone 10-25-2007, 11:00 PM Well, Dre did have ghostwriters...
Kstat 10-25-2007, 11:12 PM I can't imagine if someone robbed my house that I'd want to be asked about it, especially by someone I didn't know...
Wish I could have been there tonight as a partial season ticket holder, but I couldn't make the time.
OUGrizz11PG 10-25-2007, 11:13 PM HAHAHAHA I was at the party tonight too, but me and my one friend split from a second friend to chase autographs. The second friend told me some ass pissed off Murray in front of him with that question.
Nice work. I actually think the people who try to strike up conversations with the guys are kinda lame. I was chiding my first friend about that all night. The last thing most of them want to do is talk when they're signing 900 straight autographs.
gusman 10-25-2007, 11:28 PM I already have 4 jerseys signed by the entire team, autogrpahs use to mean more to me . I think I am about done with the pistons, I have lost interest. I do see what you are saying about the conversation and the last thing that they want to do is make small talk I really have nothing left to say anyways
Uncle Mxy 10-26-2007, 08:10 AM I'd go for real softball questions, something comfortable:
"What's your favorite web site (besides nba.com)?"
"Rasheed, what was it like meeting the Big Dipper?"
"Do you have any time to watch reality TV shows?"
etc.
I'd avoid pointed stuff like:
"Chauncey, how did you feel about those rape charges in Boston?"
"Rasheed, how's that tattoo lawsuit going?"
"Dupree, any luck looking for EE jobs in the want-ads?"
