So we read the hype all summer long...

"If the draft were held today, he'd go much higher"

"He's the MVP of the Vegas summer league"

"Umpteen other teams really wanted him"

"He'll be in the rookie of the year discussion"

And now, most of us have seen him play a little.

So based on what you have seen with your own eyes, is the hype deserved or have we been Langlois-ed?

I am buying it and when he leads us from an 0-2 deficit in the finals to a championship you all will too.

What I saw yesterday had me giddy. The drive-miss-rebound-miss-rebound-putback was a star play. He can get to the hole. Is a future star in my eyes? Not with that jumper, but he has talents.

This was posted after he was hurt, not before.

Well, the fact that you were thinking of posting this before he was hurt....

I started this thread because I haven't been able to catch as much of the preseason this year as I normally do (due to games not being televised, family responsibilities, etc.)

I was kinda hoping that there would be some people here that would have seen enough to feel comfortable taking a stand on this one way or another, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I know that it's too early to judge what kind of player he's going to end up being, I was just trying to discern if I should expect what I have read to hold true, or if it's just a product of the the same old hype machine.

Sounds like it's too soon to tell even that.

There is also the factor that people are hesitant to get behind Stuckey and all of the hype just because of Flip's history with rookies on this team, especially that he will be out of the rotation for a while with the bad hand.

Couldn't have been more on the money.

A rare "double cogent", nice.
