Amir Johnson went down a little while ago with a left ankle sprain injury. He's being listed as day-to-day, although I'm hearing he'll probably head to the hospital tonight to get an X-ray and that the injury will sideline him for at least two weeks. I'll have some type of update following Saturday's practice.

How is LLTP going to spin this?

He walked off the court yesterday when it happened, so it's unlikely to be super-bad.

Boo! I won't get to see him play next Friday!

Amir Johnson (left ankle sprain) is the lone Piston who will not be in uniform. He spent Sunday night's practice receiving treatments in addition to working with Arnie Kander, Detroit's strength and conditioning coach.

Amir update

Looks like my forecast that Amir Johnson might miss another week with that sprained left ankle was off the mark. He won't play tonight, but he did dress. He's not going through the warm-up drills, but he is putting his full weight on it and firing up shots. He looked a lot worse on Sunday, but, hey, he's 20. He should heal quickly. We'll see if he returns to practice Tuesday or Wednesday.

In the DETROIT FREE PRESS, Chris Silva writes “third-year forward Amir Johnson practiced Monday for the first time since suffering a sprained left ankle more than two weeks ago. If Johnson is cleared to play in the Pistons' final exhibition Wednesday against Washington, coach Flip Saunders said he'll log some major minutes. But will one exhibition be enough for Saunders to gauge Johnson's progress and see where he might fit in the Pistons' regular-season rotation?”
