Big Swami 10-16-2007, 11:24 AM Evel Knievel is fucking wicked.

Gore has done some good things, but is pretty much the polar opposite of cool. Anybody who votes for him must enlighten me.
Vinny 10-16-2007, 01:08 PM Dude, it's Evel Knievel. How could anyone vote Gore?
MoTown 10-16-2007, 01:47 PM Maybe some people think that fixing the world is cooler than running into walls on your dirtbike...
I dunno...
Vinny 10-16-2007, 02:20 PM Freaks.
Zip Goshboots 10-16-2007, 04:26 PM I voted for Gore. Nobel Prize, Sloppy Seconds from Slick Willie, total Liberal, taking the Conservatives head on and winning.
Now, Evel let me down with that Snake River deal.
If he'd have been killed on live TV, I'd probably vote for him.
Glenn 10-16-2007, 04:32 PM Internets.
Vinny 10-16-2007, 05:53 PM Al Gore married Tipper. That should knock him out of the WTF tournament by default. I mean, this site was built in response to censorship in the first place for chrissakes!
Like I said, Gore has done good things but is absolutely the most uncool person on the planet. Have you ever seen the guy give a speech or anything? Makes me wanna bang my head on the wall. On the other hand Evel banged his head on things really hard so we didn't have to. Plus his outfit just screams 70s cool.

Motown for ROY!
"dirtbike" was a nice touch. Solid restraint as well, "BMX" would have been too far.
Glenn 10-17-2007, 10:28 AM I agree, if this was a "Deathwish tournament" Evel would be the man.
Is it cool to be nuts?

Yes. Yes it is.
Only if you're a hot ass woman. Otherwise, its rather annoying.
Glenn 10-17-2007, 01:46 PM I'll make a brief case for Gore here.
First, the "I created the internet" thing is most likely urban legend. But it's cool that he's even in that discussion.
Onto Tipper. Being cool isn't about being perfect, you need to have flaws. He made a mistake there, no doubt.
Dude lost the presidency under shady circumstances and went on to get fat and grow a mountain man beard. Very cool.
Now, he's being told that if he wants to take back what he probably feels was his anyways he probably can, but he's basically saying, "Leader of the free world? Fuck that!"
He's got moxie, IMO.

The "I created the environment" line is funny.

...and I forgot that little "the person that has done more for the environment than anyone else alive" -thing

I liked Clinton's line about Stephanopoulos, too.
Thanks for the link, interesting stuff.
b-diddy 10-17-2007, 05:07 PM ma nature is one of my favorite things. anyone who protects it is all aces in my book. right now its hard to say al has done more than anyone (i forget, did he invent conservation? recycling?), but no doubt hes brought to the forefront a conversation that should have happened a long time ago.
i dont think recklessly risking your wellbeing is cool. personally, i love being physically fit and being fully functional. i would hate to be handicapped, and do my best everyday not to be. constantly putting yourself in a reckless position like that isnt cool in my book.

Good post, but fixing the world is admirable, noble, etc, but cool? If we had a Tourney of the most admirable endeavors, Al would rate for sure.
