View Full Version : Lions @ Foreskins Timone 10-07-2007, 01:02 PM Lions are 0-20 in Washington. :cornbread: Glenn 10-07-2007, 01:04 PM Skins roll, maybe by 17 or so. Campbell will look like a Pro Bowler. Timone 10-07-2007, 01:06 PM I am going with the Lions in OT. Tahoe 10-07-2007, 01:10 PM Skins. I'm not feeling a road win vs a pretty good team. Kind of like Philly, but hopefully they'll show up. Timone 10-07-2007, 01:11 PM The power of Christ just forced the 'Skins out of FG position. Ya'll are gonna end up looking like some bukdows when this one's over! Timone 10-07-2007, 01:15 PM Do those draw plays EVER work? Glenn 10-07-2007, 01:38 PM yawn. Timone 10-07-2007, 01:44 PM How is Jason Campbell having the game he is having so far? Don't bother answering... Tahoe 10-07-2007, 02:03 PM In the jungle the mighty jungle, the Lions sleep tonight 4th and 2 and go for 37? Tahoe 10-07-2007, 02:09 PM I wish the signing of Marinelli would have improved the Defense (talent and play) like the signing of Martz did for the offense. A friggin fumble? Timone 10-07-2007, 02:09 PM Come the fuck on....... Timone 10-07-2007, 02:14 PM Wooooooooooooooo! Lions ball still. Too bad we can't get shit going. Glenn 10-07-2007, 02:22 PM The Lions need, a miracle... :miracle: Glenn 10-07-2007, 02:26 PM Total plays Wash - 41 Det - 19 Timone 10-07-2007, 02:29 PM Lions got them right where they want them. I ALWAYS wondered what that little guy in the backfield was used for. Timone 10-07-2007, 03:01 PM Remember guys (or anyone who's even watching), the Lions were stuck on 3 entering the 4th quarter last week too! b-diddy 10-07-2007, 03:06 PM im watching more of the pats game than the lions. as much as i like calvin johnson, joe thomas would have been the better pick. especially considering that we refuse to throw to calvin, except for the occassional screen pass underneath. meanwhile we air it out for huge bombs to mike furrey, who cant quite catch up to anything thats even slightly overthrown to him. maybe if mike furrey were 6'5" and ran a 4.39 forty that throwing window might be a little bigger (HINT! HINT! HINT!). H1Man 10-07-2007, 03:08 PM How do the Lions only have 90 something yards in 3 quaters of play? MoTown 10-07-2007, 03:16 PM I'm glad the Lions took an entire half to figure out it might be a good idea to blitz. This team makes me want to puke today. MoTown 10-07-2007, 03:22 PM A pass downfield! Timone 10-07-2007, 03:22 PM COMEBACK CATS BABY!! Timone 10-07-2007, 03:26 PM What a fucking stupid call. Timone 10-07-2007, 03:28 PM We got a big hit and a hurt player, someone start the topic! Glenn 10-07-2007, 03:29 PM Nice job, punt team! b-diddy 10-07-2007, 03:30 PM speaking of stories as old as time and dancing bears, the 2007 detroit lions! Glenn 10-07-2007, 03:30 PM Can I finally get a "same old Lions" from the congregation? Tahoe 10-07-2007, 03:31 PM meanwhile we air it out for huge bombs to mike furrey, who cant quite catch up to anything thats even slightly overthrown to him. maybe if mike furrey were 6'5" and ran a 4.39 forty that throwing window might be a little bigger (HINT! HINT! HINT!). Sorry but can't agree on the Furrey bashing. He plays with more heart than just about anyone on the team. Kitna saw the rush and released it way early on that play, btw. Timone 10-07-2007, 03:33 PM Mike Furrey will forever be a legend in the city of the Detroit for knocking the star off the wall last year in Dallas and exempted from any bashing. You can rip everyone else though. MoTown 10-07-2007, 03:34 PM It's a good thing the Lions have such a high powered offense because coming back from a 23-3 deficit with 10 minutes left should be easy. Timone 10-07-2007, 03:35 PM http://www.sas.upenn.edu/~edwebb/rosie.jpg Timone 10-07-2007, 03:41 PM Swat? H1Man 10-07-2007, 03:45 PM Who was Kitna throwing for there? Timone 10-07-2007, 03:46 PM When they win they look like a million bucks, but when they lose they look like the friggin' Lions. Tahoe 10-07-2007, 03:49 PM I've really settled down as I get older, not into fighting anymore, but I have this incredible urge to fly to Detroit and personally kick Marinelli in the nuts. Not that its all his fault, but you know the saying, You can't kick all the players in the nuts, its the head coach who has to get kicked in the nuts. Timone 10-07-2007, 03:50 PM I myself would like to fight that entire defense. Only problem is I don't know most of the guys on it. Timone 10-07-2007, 03:55 PM WHAT A HIT BY TROY WALTERS!! b-diddy 10-07-2007, 03:58 PM not ripping furrey. i think he's an excellent third reciever. but why are we airing it out to him when calvin would be far more dangerous in that role? is calvin's back so bad that he cant run down field? that might explain today, but its been this way all year. and its not just calvin, it was chaz R before him. why do we insist on grabbing top flight wide reciever talent (not starting a debate on bust recievers) and then refusing to let them take advantage of their god given gifts. its just assinine that the only ball thrown to calvin johnson all day was a 3 yard screen pass (and a medium length throw down the field w/ tripple coverage, also). randy moss had 17 td's his rookie year. he was the most dangerous player in the nfl. the rules clearly tell teams to throw the football, and as far as possible. theres not a cb in the nfl that could stop a randy moss or (i suspect) calvin johnson in 1 on 1 coverage down field, which means your picking up either a td or atleast a big chunk of yards via catch or interferrence, on a huge percentage of the attempts. is martz afraid that bombs to calvin are too obvious, and would make him look less of a genius? (i realize our pass protection gives kitna enough time for a 3 step drop on about every 5th play, but there are times where we have enough time for a bomb, here and there.) MoTown 10-07-2007, 03:59 PM At least the Lions have a bye week so we don't sit here fooled for 2 weeks as to how good they are. Tahoe 10-07-2007, 04:03 PM Like I said about the Philly game too, I think we are seeing teams that are considerably more talented than we are too. I realize that on any given week any team can beat any other team, but these things average out. Play teams with more talent and you are going to lose the majority of them. We have wasted too many valuable draft picks. We are better than what we were, but we have some mediocre talent at some spots, especially on D and I'm not feeling our O Line. Tahoe 10-07-2007, 04:09 PM And please don't make fun of me for putting that much thought into the Lions. :) b-diddy 10-07-2007, 04:11 PM there are only a handful of legit nfl starters on our defense. we're playing mostly glorified second stringers against our opponents A-team. same thing with the O-line. i suspect some of our starters would be cut by other nfl teams. did you see backus get tossed like a rag doll on our safety? how many sacks has backus given up on his own? most of the quality nfl teams have been built from the inside out. pretty much every superbowl winner has had a dominant offensive line. when was the last time our's was 1/2 way decent? we had a chance to build a good one this year with joe thomas, and instead we grabbed a skill position player who nabbed us 3 (BIG) yards. i dont blame calvin, i dont blame kitna. with a great O-line anyone can look good, and with a bad O-line everyone will look bad. im still confident we can squeek out 6 or 7 wins this year, but that has a ton to do with who we get to play. Tahoe 10-07-2007, 04:22 PM I did see Backus get bitch tossed. Raiola had some really shitty plays today too. Sidenote: I can't find our YACs today yet, but it seemed to be dismal today. |
