I now know that the Padres and Rockies game will be on TV even if it isnt in the guide because its a last minute programming change that wouldnt show up in the guide that shows what is on the television for that given night. I still do not know if I'll watch because it may not be worth my time, but thanks to the wonderful folks here at wtfdetroit.com I know i have the option.
My Thanks go out to The Wiz for the game previe and to Fraserburn for (ok Interpilating? Seriously???) Interpretating exactly what I failed to type in a manner befitting my age

Glenn 10-02-2007, 10:37 AM If UM is the "Harvard of the MW", what is Northwestern? Since Northwestern is the highest ranked school in the Big Ten, would they be the Oxford of the MW? The Sorbonne of the MW?
And why would I feel insecure? I actually have (2) degrees from a Big Ten school, that school being MSU, and I am damn proud of them. Shit, you don`t know the first thing about lipid metabolism nor do you have a clue about the mechanics of the fall of Apartheid SA. All you do is sit home, collect government checks and fantasize about blue and yellow clad boys.
One more thing, my cousin went to UM for her undergrad and Law degree. After she was done she had this to say, "I have seen enough Blue to last me a lifetime". She now lives in Texas and roots for the Horns. Zippy, you are just a clueless dumbass.

I played varsity football from 9th grade on then a Class B team, now Division 3, and was a pretty good long jumper, my best jump was 20' 8" and did go to the State meet. Nothing special, but nothing to sneeze at either.
Now, onto the UM fans. You didn`t go to the school, you have never played organized football yet you are UM football fans. I`m sure it means nothing to people like you, but in reality, thats about as spineless and bandwagon as it gets. Truly, you people are THE watermark for clueless hanger-onners.

Please don't get overwrought by the ESPN Daily Dime report that the Pistons haven't ruled out re-signing Chris Webber. That's what we've been reporting all along. IF something, a long-term injury or a trade, happens to one of the three veteran big men, Joe Dumars would consider bringing Webber back. But right now, that's a big if. Dumars has been resolute on this: He does not want four veteran bigs. He wants to start building a younger, more athletic frontcourt; he wants Amir Johnson and Jason Maxiell to play. It is my understanding that Dumars and Webber have not spoken since before the season.

Glenn 03-09-2008, 01:54 PM I didn't explain my point very well. My point is that the Shaq trade was horrible and stupid. It doesn't make sense with that team. But they weren't going to win anything with the team they had. They tried to win with that style and continued to lose. They needed to change something up. So they added a "dominant" post player in hopes that could possibly work. Even if there was a chance of it working, they had to try. It didn't, just like most of us predicted.
My point is that they wouldn't win with the old style, but they had to try something different. This wasn't it. It was stupid, but at least they tried to change it instead of trying the same broken formula every year.

:mccosky:

Since when does a one-sentence, non-sourced note from a non-NBA writer in a secondary publication up in Canada warrant such buzz? The Pistons and Rockets are not having on-going discussions about Tracy McGrady. There is no deal. Nothing is remotely close. Joe Dumars hasn't talked to the Rockets in several weeks and the Rockets have made it clear they have zero interest in trading T-Mac.
Dumars has talked to numerous teams, that's his job. He's trying to improve his team. He has made inquiries about McGrady. Nothing ever came of it and he hasn't gone back in over a month.
On a different note, I am happy that Jarvis Hayes has gotten another deal. He will sign a two-year deal with the Nets. He is one of the all-time good guys in this business. Had he been able to play defense even a little bit, he would have been here a whole lot longer.

Tahoe 04-19-2009, 09:42 PM I don't hink his growth or development will be hampered by being handed the keys - usually a young players have to play to learn.
The problem I could see developing is that certain members of the team slowly turn on him. A guy like Rip or Tay could easily turn on Stuckey.
Consider all they have done and accomplished here - yet Stuckey's the guy that is picked as the "untouchable" one, the "leader", the guy that can do what he wants on the floor.
That shit would get real old, real fast for some people.
I just feel like this situation could turn into a disaster if it's not handled right and I have ZERO faith in our Coach to manage the egos involved.
I don't see us signing a clear cut leader this off-season, so you potentially add another accomplished player into the equation. Stuckey is then the leader of Rip, Tay and (let's say) Boozer.
It's just a potential problem brewing under the surface now - heaven help us if it all flares up next season with Curry on deck.
You got to appreciate what an explosive element this Bonnie situation is. If she comes home from a hard day's work and finds a bunch of gangsters doin' a bunch of gangsta' shit in her kitchen, ain't no tellin' what she's apt to do.
Pharaoh 04-20-2009, 07:38 AM Well done, Tahoe.
That's sweet
Big Swami 04-21-2009, 04:17 PM Tony (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.): How do you think Flip Saunders would have fared coaching this team? Will Michael Curry be held accountable or will he be given a “free pass” given the chaos of the just-completed season?
Langlois: Would Saunders have had any better success figuring out how best to incorporate Allen Iverson? We’ll never know, but my guess is the overriding reason the Iverson experiment failed is that Iverson’s skills have eroded to the point that he’s no longer an impact player. He did not score with anything close to the degree of efficiency the Pistons needed from him and it’s tough to put that on the coach. Iverson didn’t have much to do with Iverson taking all those high-degree-of-difficulty shots around the rim. I don’t think “free pass” applies, but Joe Dumars knows the circumstances under which Curry worked this season – rookie point guard, failed Iverson experiment, significant injuries, slippage from Rasheed Wallace as he starts to slow down – and understands why the record wound up 39-43.
Allen borrowed $500 dollars to go to Greektown and he's been ducking me ever since. Back problem my ass.
Uncle Mxy 04-22-2009, 07:48 AM Tony's too much of a chickenshit to deal with AI's bodyguard.

Translation: "look, I don't want this to get heated. Let's stay calm, bro."
Glenn 10-23-2009, 10:03 AM Rueben (Tulsa, Okla.): I watched the Pistons’ season preview on NBA TV and was disappointed to hear Chris Webber and Eric Snow say the Pistons will not make the playoffs, the crowded backcourt will not be any better than last year and Charlie Villanueva is not the post player we need. What are your thoughts?
Langlois: With all due respect to Webber and Snow, it means nothing. It’s easier to get a handle on some teams than others, but trying to assess the Pistons this season – and NBA TV’s preview quite possibly was produced before they’d played more than a preseason game or two – is really a crap shoot because of all the new players added, not to mention a new coach. Furthermore, I’m always leery of investing much faith in the assessments of observers who claim to be experts on 30 teams. How can Webber and Snow possibly know whether this year’s backcourt will be any better or worse than last year’s without having seen more than random clips of this year’s backcourt in action?
